Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 438: Pharmacist, Clark the Monster
Chapter 438: Chapter 438: Pharmacist, Clark the Monster
Two Professions appeared before Seraphina Sullivan, awaiting her choice.
[Pharmacist]
[Ability One: Highly Poisonous Potion] You have mastered the formulas for various basic and advanced Highly Poisonous Potions and can concoct them from available materials. The potion’s Effect is related to the Quality of the materials, your concoction proficiency, and the target’s resistance. Larger or highly resistant targets will require larger quantities or more potent potions.
[Ability Two: Medical Potion] You have mastered the formulas for various healing potions and can concoct potions to heal wounds, neutralize common toxins, restore stamina, or alleviate negative status effects. The Effect is likewise dependent on materials and skill.
[Diver]
[Ability One: Underwater Breathing] Passively grants a significant increase in underwater breath-holding time and pressure adaptability. When actively triggered, allows for the efficient extraction of oxygen directly from water for a certain period, enabling near-limitless underwater activity.
[Ability Two: Water Perception] While in an aquatic environment, you can merge your spiritual power with the water, allowing you to clearly perceive the underwater terrain, currents, lifeform activity, and general outlines within a one-kilometer radius.
Both Professions had their own strengths.
The Pharmacist was clearly a support and logistics path, covering both healing and poisoning. It would be extremely valuable in any environment, especially in an apocalypse with scarce resources and dire medical conditions. Someone who could make medicine was an absolute treasure for any team.
The Diver, on the other hand, was more of an exploration and survival specialist for specific environments. The Underwater Breathing and Water Perception abilities would be god-tier skills in a mission area with lots of water or one that required underwater operations.
Seraphina Sullivan made her choice almost without hesitation.
"I choose [Pharmacist]."
The reason was simple.
In this mission area, which was dominated by land-based monsters and required a long trek to an inland Shelter, the [Diver] Ability seemed rather useless.
While she couldn’t rule out encountering rivers or lakes, it clearly wasn’t worth sacrificing the more comprehensive and practical Pharmacist abilities for such a possibility.
If this had been a mission area surrounded by sea or focused on underwater exploration, [Diver] would have been a legendary-tier choice. But this wasn’t that place.
But Seraphina Sullivan needed the various types of knowledge the Pharmacist Profession would provide.
The moment she confirmed her choice, a massive amount of knowledge about herbology, mineralogy, basic chemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology flooded into Seraphina Sullivan’s mind. At the same time, her hands seemed to gain a new, keen sensitivity to subtle changes in materials.
With her Profession awakened, Seraphina Sullivan felt she had gained another layer of security for her survival.
"Alright, we need to get out of here, fast." Seraphina Sullivan stood up and scanned her surroundings warily.
Before her was a stretch of rolling hills. In the distance lay a forest so dense it looked somewhat sinister, and even farther away, she could faintly make out the distorted silhouette of a mountain range. It was a completely alien environment, with no signs whatsoever.
"Shelter Number Three... Who the hell knows which way that is."
Seraphina Sullivan’s brow furrowed slightly. ’I have to find people as soon as possible. Even a deserted town would do. At least I might find a map, a compass, or figure out our location from any information left behind.’
She glanced at the still-unconscious Sharon Lynn, then said to Flora Sullivan, "Flora, carry her. Let’s go. We’ll check the edge of that forest first. Try to follow any signs of a path, and stay on high alert."
"Yes, Boss!" Flora Sullivan deftly slung her weapon over her shoulder, then carefully hoisted Sharon Lynn onto her back.
As a monster, her physical strength was far beyond that of an ordinary person.
Seraphina Sullivan took the lead, the starkly-lined [Universal Sniper Rifle] having already materialized silently in her hands as she vigilantly scanned their surroundings for any sign of movement.
The crash was just the beginning.
In this apocalyptic world overrun by monsters, danger could be lurking behind every shadow, in every thicket.
They had to find their way, find a Shelter, and complete this difficult escort mission.
The trio—Seraphina Sullivan and her companions—moved as silently and quickly as possible through the forest.
They specifically chose paths where the trees were relatively sparse, making it easier to observe and move, all while maintaining a high level of alertness.
However, it seemed there was no truly safe place in this world.
"SCREEEEE—!!!"
A sharp, piercing screech that seemed capable of tearing one’s soul apart came from high above without any warning, instantly shattering the relative tranquility of the forest!
Seraphina Sullivan snapped her head up and, through the mottled gaps in the canopy, saw a heart-stopping sight—
A terrifying creature of unbelievable size, with a wingspan of at least three hundred meters, was slowly gliding across the sky!
It had a streamlined body similar to an ancient pterosaur, but its skin had a dark purple metallic sheen, and its bones protruded to form menacing spikes. Each flap of its massive, fleshy wings stirred up a dull, powerful gale.
Surrounding it, like stars orbiting the moon, swarmed a dense flock of smaller, grayish-black flying monsters with shrill cries, acting like its guards or Hounds.
The [Eye of Resume] activated instantly, capturing information:
[Target: Clark the Monster]
[Gender: Female]
[Professional Skills: Monster Body: Possesses an extremely resilient physiological structure. Its enormous size grants terrifying Power, defense, and Life Force. Conventional attacks struggle to inflict effective damage. It has potent self-regeneration capabilities and Energy resistance. Requires unconventional attack methods or targeting its specific Weaknesses to be effectively killed.]
[Significant Weaknesses:
Toxins: Relatively low resistance to certain potent biotoxins or Energy toxins, especially after they have entered its body.
Devastating Strike: Suffering a devastating blow may lead to direct death.]
’Monster Body...’
Seraphina Sullivan repeated the words in her mind, gaining a more direct understanding of this world’s danger level.
Even a mere "passerby" in the sky was a being of this caliber. No wonder human civilization had been ravaged to this extent.
Fortunately, the creature called ’Clark’ seemed to have little interest in the "little bugs" in the forest below. She didn’t lower her altitude but flew straight toward the distant mountain range, gradually disappearing from sight.
But Seraphina Sullivan didn’t relax in the slightest.
She realized that in this "Monster Apocalypse" world, threats were everywhere. Flying in the sky, swimming in the sea, running on the ground, in the forest... monsters that defied all logic could be anywhere.
"Just how many monsters are there...?" Flora Sullivan also looked up at the sky, muttering under her breath, a rare, solemn expression on her face.
"Monster Apocalypse. As the name implies, this world has likely been overrun by all sorts of mutated or interdimensional monsters."
Seraphina Sullivan said in a low voice, quickening her pace. "We just don’t know what other, stranger, more lethal types there might be..."
For some reason, the theme song of a certain childhood anime flashed through her mind, but she quickly shook her head with a self-deprecating smile.
The monsters here couldn’t be captured with a "Pokeball." They were savage and violent, either preying on humans or trampling them indiscriminately. They were pure disaster, pure enemy.
"Boss, there’s danger!"
