Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 337: Universal Sniper Rifle, Special Bullet Effect
Chapter 337: Chapter 337: Universal Sniper Rifle, Special Bullet Effect
Seraphina Sullivan stood at a third-floor window, calmly observing the battle through her [Analysis Glasses].
’The enhanced Analysis Glasses are even more effective.’
It was the Item Upgrade Card Sean Chandler had gotten from a Treasure Chest.
After careful consideration, Seraphina had used it on her [Analysis Glasses].
Not only had the item’s three Effects been upgraded,
but what relieved Seraphina the most was that the upgraded Analysis Glasses were not easily destroyed.
That was what gave her the greatest peace of mind.
Before, she had worried that a single battle could ruin them.
Otherwise, future Item Identification would have been a huge hassle.
Seraphina kept an eye on the broader surroundings, serving as both a lookout and long-range support.
She watched with satisfaction as the counter for [Main Quest 2: Clear out 30,000 regular zombies] in her system notifications ticked up slowly but steadily.
[Main Quest 2: Total regular zombies cleared (14/30,000)]
[Main Quest 2: Total regular zombies cleared (27/30,000)]
[Main Quest 2: Total regular zombies cleared (41/30,000)]
’It seems that with Flora and the others, the pressure of clearing out regular zombies will be greatly reduced. I can focus more on finding special individuals and virus samples.’
Seraphina felt a little more at ease.
Her trust in the "Summoned Beast" squad commanded by Flora Sullivan grew.
However, Sean Chandler, who was standing beside her, watched the heated battle below and the rapidly increasing kill count.
He then glanced at the "12/30,000" on his own quest list, which hadn’t budged an inch, and couldn’t help but sigh softly.
His combat style leaned more toward close-quarters bursts and single-target attacks. In an environment that required clearing out large numbers of minions, he was definitely less efficient than Seraphina’s Pet Legion.
He rubbed his chin, watching Tubbs breathe fire, Chubbs shoot feathers, and Moe use Petrification... and an idea flashed through his mind.
’Should I... try to tame a pet or something, too? At least it would speed up clearing out the small fry...’
But the thought was fleeting. He immediately shook his head and let out a wry laugh.
Given his situation and combat style, taming an ordinary pet might not be suitable, and raising one would require time and resources. Besides...
He clenched his fist, feeling the Power of the [Demon Beast] flowing within him.
’Can’t I... ’transform’ into the most powerful ’pet’ myself?’
Whether it was the Monster Power and defense of the [Great Bear Demon Beast].
Or the agility and stealth of the [Kitty Demon Beast].
When facing a truly powerful enemy or carrying out a special mission, he was probably more reliable than any pet.
Clearing minions might be slow, but so be it. A slow and steady approach, using the environment, would get the job done eventually.
Having figured this out, Sean Chandler was no longer conflicted, and his gaze became resolute once more.
He looked at Seraphina and said, "I’m going to scout the vicinity to see if there are any traces of special zombies, or to find a more suitable long-term base. Flora and the others should be fine holding things down here."
Seraphina nodded. "Be careful. Stay in touch."
She was referring to the connection they had established through the [Friend Communication List].
Sean Chandler acknowledged her, and with a flicker of his form, he vanished as if melting into the shadows, silently leaving the temporary base to begin his reconnaissance mission.
The exploration and survival in the Zombie Kingdom fully unfolded amidst the roars of pets, the booming of flames, and silent stealth.
Seraphina didn’t stay put for long.
The street below was now temporarily much safer after being "swept" by the pets.
She needed to find a better sniping position to test out the Abilities of her Sniper Profession.
She moved quickly toward a nearby office building that was taller and more structurally intact.
She soon reached the top floor of the office building.
The view here was excellent, offering a nearly 270-degree vantage point that overlooked several streets and a desolate plaza.
Seraphina quickly cleared away the dust and debris in a corner.
She found a solid load-bearing pillar for support and set up her unique [Universal Sniper Rifle].
The body of the gun was cool to the touch, yet it resonated strangely with her spiritual power.
She closed her eyes, carefully sensing the information feedback from this Mind Gun.
’Effective range... about 3,500 meters,’ she estimated silently, marveling at the number.
That distance was already terrifying in an urban environment. ’But within the optimal range of 1,000 to 2,000 meters,’
She opened her eyes, and the scope’s view zoomed in on the distant scenery with perfect clarity.
’with the passive buff from [Hundred Shots Hundred Hits], once a target is locked on, there’s almost no escape.’
She could "see" an invisible trajectory assistance line, as well as a subtle stream of data about wind speed, humidity, and target movement prediction flickering at the edge of her vision.
It was an experience akin to the instinct of a master shooter.
Beyond 2,000 meters, these assists would weaken, and the trajectory would be more affected by environmental factors.
Her hit rate would depend more on her own judgment and adjustments, but it was still within a manageable range.
’First, let’s try creating a bullet using one of my existing Skills.’
With a thought, the first thing that came to Seraphina’s mind was the support Skill, [Clean Bubble].
Spiritual power slowly flowed into the sniper rifle, and a faint light seemed to swirl inside the chamber.
She didn’t load any physical ammunition. Instead, she guided the skill configuration and Energy characteristics of [Clean Bubble], compressing and converting them within the rifle’s chamber.
A few seconds later, a strange "bullet" took shape in her mind. It was completely transparent, with what looked like tiny bubbles flowing inside.
[Clean Bullet] formation complete.
Seraphina aimed her scope at a regular zombie about eight hundred meters away, which was slowly dragging its mangled body forward.
The crosshairs locked steadily onto its decaying head.
She pulled the trigger.
THWIP—
The sound was very soft, like a sharp exhale, but it was still audible in the silent, ruined environment.
A transparent ripple spread from the muzzle as the [Clean Bullet] shot out silently, far exceeding the speed of sound.
The next second, it hit its mark!
The expected scene of an exploding head and splattering filth did not occur.
The zombie’s movements stopped abruptly. A gentle yet irresistible, invisible wave instantly spread out from the point of impact, covering a radius of about three meters.
Wherever the wave passed, the zombie’s filthy body, its tattered clothes stained with black blood, and even the dirty ground beneath its feet seemed to have been subjected to the most efficient cleaning Magic.
All the grime, bloodstains, and rotting tissue vanished in an instant!
The zombie turned into an abnormally "clean," almost pale corpse. It barely maintained its standing posture for a moment before collapsing to the ground with a CLATTER.
The ground within a three-meter radius around it also revealed its original concrete or brick color, so clean it was completely out of place with the surrounding environment.
[Main Quest 2: Total regular zombies cleared (45/30,000)]
The number ticked up.
Seraphina was dumbfounded. "Whoa! So a Special Bullet doesn’t just have the Skill Effect, it also comes with the Skill’s own ’trait’ or even its ’concept’?"
The core of [Clean Bubble] was "purification and cleaning," so while its bullet dealt damage, it also came with a powerful cleaning and Purification effect!
