Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 314: Continuing to Tally the Harvest, Meteorite Gemstone, Guardian God
Chapter 314: Chapter 314: Continuing to Tally the Harvest, Meteorite Gemstone, Guardian God
After seeing the four exquisite-quality rewards Sean Chandler had received,
Seraphina Sullivan took a deep breath, calming her envious heart.
’It’s fine. I haven’t even looked at my own rewards closely yet! I have more items, and a wider variety. Winning through quantity is still a win!’ she began to console herself.
She casually pinned the [Life Leaf Brooch] to her collar.
A warm, vital sensation immediately flowed through her body, leaving her feeling refreshed and invigorated.
She then carefully set the [Three Realms Compass] aside, planning to study it later.
Then, she began to carefully take stock of her dazzling pile of loot. ℴ
’The two Treasure Chests gave me ten items in total, and six of them are different types of cards!’
She first sorted and laid out the cards: two Skill Cards, [Human Form] and [Flower Therapy].
There was also one [Team Formation Card], three [Skill Upgrade Cards], one [Skill Fusion Card], and one [Training Card].
Seraphina first looked at the other five cards, setting aside the [Skill Upgrade Cards].
The first was the [Skill Card: Human Form].
[Effect: After learning, the user masters the Ability to transform into a humanoid form. (Note: The form’s details and stability are affected by the user’s own traits and Energy.)]
Seeing the skill description, Seraphina immediately felt she had seen it somewhere before. ’Isn’t this the fifth of the Mokla Giant Tree’s seven Skills, [Human Form]?’
’Transforming into a human?’
It didn’t seem very useful for Seraphina herself.
After all, she was already human.
But on second thought, her gaze shifted to the pets on the Scavenger’s Farm.
Flora, Moe, Chubbs, Tubbs, Ruby...
’Hmm... maybe I can give one of them a chance to experience "being human"?’
The idea intrigued Seraphina, so she set the card aside for now.
The second was the [Skill Card·Flower Therapy].
[Effect: After learning, the user can condense a pure white medical flower. When activated, the Energy flower can release gentle healing Energy, slowly restoring a target’s injuries, and comes with a minor Purification Effect.]
’This skill is great!’ Seraphina’s eyes lit up.
’Combined with the [Life Leaf Brooch]’s recovery aura and active healing, plus my own [Quick Sewing] and the [Anesthetic] Skill I just got... I don’t even have to pretend to be a "Medical Assistant Player" anymore. I’m a genuine healer now!’
The Aberrant Radiation instance had ended.
The Stealing Master Agreement from her [Worker] Talent was automatically settled, and from the two skills of the [Anesthetist] Profession, Seraphina chose [Anesthetic]—the one with more general utility and tactical value—as the skill she would permanently master.
Next, she quickly scanned the effects of the other cards:
[Team Formation Card]: A one-time use item. Use before entering an instance to form a temporary team of up to five Players, ensuring they all start in the same initial area of the instance.
[Skill Fusion Card]: Can fuse two highly compatible skills to create a new skill that is stronger or has a more unique Effect.
[Training Card]: A one-time use item. After use, it opens an independent training Space that lasts for 24 hours. The time flow inside is at a 10:1 ratio to the outside world, making it the perfect place to hone skills and familiarize oneself with new Abilities.
With the inventory check complete, Seraphina had a much clearer understanding of her gains from this instance.
Skills, items, Function Cards—she had gotten a bit of everything, greatly enriching her arsenal and foundation.
The next step was to figure out how to rationally allocate and use these resources, converting her gains into tangible strength.
Without hesitation, Seraphina chose to learn the [Skill Card·Flower Therapy].
The card in her hand dissolved into motes of light that flowed into her body, and knowledge about condensing and guiding Life Energy was instantly imprinted in her mind.
With a mere thought, she tried to use her new skill.
Above her palm, a soft white light gathered, quickly condensing into a strange, palm-sized flower. Its petals were layered, immaculately white, and it emitted a faint fluorescent glow and a light fragrance.
The flower floated and rotated slowly, emanating an Aura that soothed both body and mind.
’Is this the Flower Therapy skill?’ Seraphina nodded in satisfaction, feeling the gentle Healing power it contained.
With no one injured at the moment, she dispersed the Energy, and the flower dissolved back into motes of light.
Having mastered the new skill, Seraphina wasted no time and immediately turned her attention to the remaining two items.
These were not cards, but rather special, more tangible objects.
The first was a crystal about the size of a fist, [Meteorite Gemstone]. It was completely translucent, and inside, what looked like a crimson river of stars seemed to flow slowly.
[Name: Meteorite Gemstone]
[Effect: A special Energy Crystal from outer space or a higher dimension, containing extremely pure and powerful primordial Energy. When absorbed by a living being, it can fundamentally strengthen their life source, significantly boost their base stats, and has a chance to awaken or strengthen a Special Ability related to the gemstone’s energy properties. Note: The absorption process is risky. Ensure you are in good physical condition and a safe environment.]
Seeing this gemstone, Seraphina’s pupils contracted. She was immediately reminded of the crimson core in the center of the Mokla Giant Tree’s forehead!
The two were extremely similar in appearance and energy signature, except the gemstone’s Energy seemed more restrained and pure, lacking the Frenzy and Aberrant feeling of the Mokla’s core.
’Could it be... the Mokla became so powerful because it absorbed something like this? To think the world’s gift would be such a foundational treasure...’
Seraphina’s heart burned with excitement as she held the gemstone, which was warm to the touch yet contained terrifying Energy.
Ever since she became aware of the threat from [That Being]—an entity beyond all measure—
the urgent need to grow stronger had been weighing heavily on her heart.
She was terrified of encountering another existence like Maxim.
Regular leveling and skill acquisition were important, of course, but a treasure like this—one that could directly touch the source of her life and bring about a qualitative change—was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
’If I can absorb it safely, my fundamental strength will definitely leap to a whole new level!’ The thought was incredibly tempting.
But Seraphina forced herself to suppress the impulse to try it immediately. ’No, I’m not in my best condition right now. To absorb an energy source of this magnitude, I have to be fully prepared.’
She carefully put the [Meteorite Gemstone] away and looked at the second item.
It was an exquisite model, only the size of her palm, that resembled a miniature temple. It radiated a soft white light and was filled with a holy and solemn Aura—[Guardian God].
[Name: Guardian God]
[Effect: You can designate a creature with which you have a deep connection, or a special plant with spiritual properties, to transform it into a "Guardian God." The Guardian God will receive a status promotion, its Abilities will be comprehensively enhanced, and it will gain the following inherent traits:
1. Holy Domain: Dispels Low Rank evil, Wraiths, and negative spiritual Energy within a certain range.
2. Spirit Barrier: Grants the protected individual strong resistance to negative mental effects such as Mind Control, Charm, and fear.
3. Shelter: Can consume Energy to deploy a small barrier centered on the Guardian God, providing additional protection.]
[Note: The transformation process is irreversible; choose the target carefully. The Guardian God and the chosen one’s fates are intertwined.]
