Chapter 64: The Elven Beauty
Chapter 64: Chapter 64: The Elven Beauty
After hearing Aeon’s command, the system replied and opened a new window.
[Of course, Master.]

[Effect 5: Beyond Infinity — Allows his potential to transcend the Infinity he inherited.)
Aeon went through the descriptions. They were amazing, actually. All these passive and active effects would make him significantly more powerful. And now, he had another layer of protection under Infinity itself.
"Maybe being her lover isn’t that bad," Aeon said sarcastically, still trying to wrap his head around this whole "lover" situation.
[It certainly isn’t. Don’t be ashamed, Master. It is amazing that a being like her has become your sugar mommy.]
Aeon was shocked when he heard this.
"Is something wrong with you? You have been a lot chatter than before, and now you are making jokes. Is it because you were upgraded to level 2?" Aeon asked the system. For the past fifteen years he had possessed the system, it had spoken mechanically, like a robot. Seeing it throw jokes now left him entirely confused.
[Yes, Master. Since I upgraded to level 2, I will slowly return to my original personality and gradually gain a complete consciousness as I level up.]
Aeon smiled, no longer focusing on the matter. "Okay. Show me the effects of everything I have newly acquired."
[Yes, Master.]
------
While Aeon was chatting with his system, the spirits held a gathering to welcome the new affinities Aeon had acquired.
"Hey, welcome fellow brothers and sisters. I am pretty sure you are shocked and confused about the reason you are here," one of the spirits, the Death Spirit, spoke up as he welcomed the newcomers.
"We were shocked too when we first found ourselves here, and we’re even more bewildered now that you are here. How can a mortal being hold and command so many of us, Infinite Concepts?" He paused, letting his words settle in the air. "But after seeing how our Mother came here and treated him so well, I believe that he is her Heir."
The revelation of Aeon being the Heir of Infinity sent a shockwave through the gathered spirits.
"I know everyone of us is prideful and refuses to be eternally tied down to him as his servants, but strangely, I don’t feel hate or discomfort about the idea. Just the thought of resisting makes me feel disgusted with myself, and I am sure you feel the same."
"So, let’s do our best to serve him. He will change the course of any reality and existence, and maybe he is the only one who can stop ’Them’."
The moment he mentioned "Them," they all shared a grim understanding, knowing exactly what he was talking about—well, except for Emma, who was happily going around welcoming the newcomers.
------
After looking through the descriptions of his new traits, Aeon closed the interface with a thought and looked toward the spirits.
"Hey, guys, let’s go. And welcome, new spirits," Aeon said, casually greeting the new entities.
The new spirits looked at each other before making a decision. Slowly, they flew towards him and respectfully bowed.
"Greetings, Master," all the new spirits spoke in unison, their voices echoing across the atmosphere.
Aeon made a simple hand gesture and spoke calmly. "Welcome, everyone. Let’s get along and help one another. Let’s go then."
With that, Aeon opened a rift portal back to the academy and stepped through. Emma and the rest of the spirits followed, disappearing from the golden ocean plane.
Back in his room, Aeon stepped out of the portal and into his bedroom. He checked the digital clock on the wall. It was 5:00 AM, and classes started at 6:00 AM.
"I am glad I made it," Aeon sighed in relief. He didn’t want to be late on his first day at the academy. He headed to the bathroom, took a quick shower, and grabbed a good breakfast from his Omniverse Dimension.
He then walked over to his closet to put on his uniform. "Luckily I was given five uniforms, since I destroyed one back in my dimension," Aeon muttered as he dressed.
Next, he checked his wrist guard to review his scheduled classes. Since he had revealed himself to be on the warrior cultivation path, he had chosen classes related to that discipline. Of course, there were also compulsory classes that he had to take regardless.
"I have History first—one of the compulsory classes. Well, history is my favorite. It’s amazing to learn the history of a fantasy world like this, I can’t get enough of it. Next is Training, and lastly, Monsterology. They really start you off with the heavy compulsory classes, huh," Aeon said, scrolling through the hologram. "I guess I have no choice. Let’s just enjoy it."
Aeon didn’t even need to use the gate door this time. Using the coordinates of his lecture hall, he teleported straight from his room.
Whoosh!
Aeon reappeared in a massive auditorium filled with tiered seats. Some students were already sitting alone, while those who knew each other chatted in small groups.
’Damn, I am glad I gained the talent and affinity for space. It’s incredibly useful,’ Aeon thought, silently thanking his bonds with Elysaria and Seraphina.
He walked up the steps and found a seat next to a window. His arrival immediately drew the attention of the surrounding students, who recognized him instantly.
"Hey, is that one of the top three? He must be Leonhardt or Aeon," Adrian Ashford whispered to his twin brother next to him.
Adrian and Alistair were twin brothers from one of the noble powerhouses of the human race. Not only were they talented enough to rank in the top twenty, but they possessed a unique ability to merge together, drastically increasing their power.
A few rows down, a beautiful, delicate elf sat by the window. Every so often, the breeze would brush through her blonde hair, enhancing her ethereal charm.
When she overheard the twins mentioning Aeon, she looked in his direction. He was sitting on the opposite side of the aisle. As the wind from his own window brushed his long bangs aside, his eyes unexpectedly locked onto hers.
For a moment, they just stared at each other. Then, the elf girl stood up. She wore the academy uniform, but instead of skirt, she wore long sleeved pants, paired with dark feminine boots.
She began walking toward him. Reaching his seat, she took the empty seat next to him and extended her hand in a greeting gesture.
"Hello. My name is Lunaria Auralith. I ranked eighth in the exams. Mind if I ask who you are?" Lunaria spoke, her voice smooth and gentle.
Aeon looked at her for a moment, fascinated by her appearance. ’Truly, you won’t ever see an elf with bad looks,’ Aeon thought, amazed by her lineage.
Not wanting to leave her hanging, he extended his hand to meet hers.
"My name is Aeon Astaraeas. I ranked first. It is nice to meet you, Ms. Auralith. You can just call me Aeon."
Aeon offered a polite smile. For a brief moment, their eyes locked again. Lunaria studied his features, clearly fascinated by his aesthetic.
"You are a dragon, right?" she asked out of nowhere, inquiring about his race.
"Yes," Aeon replied, wondering what she might ask next.
"You are the most handsome man I have ever seen. It is amazing that there is a man more handsome than even the high-born Elves. I guess it is to be expected from the top ranker." Without a hint of shame, she boldly commented on Aeon’s appearance.
"Huh?!"
Aeon was momentarily taken aback. He had expected a beautiful Elf like her to be shy, but she was unexpectedly bold.
"What? Don’t tell me you expected me to be a shy girl. I am not the bashful type. Hihi." Seeing his confused expression, Lunaria chuckled, her laughter sounding like a beautiful melody.
Aeon smiled and replied confidently, "Well, yeah. I expected a beautiful girl like you—especially from the Elven race—to be at least a little shy. I guess I was wrong."
"Well, this is the real me. I was raised to always be confident. I can say the same about you, seeing how calm you are. Back home, others would blush or get nosebleeds the moment they saw me." Lunaria frowned as she recalled some unpleasant memories.
"Well, I can’t disagree with that. I sometimes feel like the dragon girls back home will eat me alive with their eyes. So, you could say we share the same experience." Aeon said with out a hint of shame.
Lunaria looked at him, stunned by his cheekiness. "Okay, I don’t think you are just confident. You are also shameless."
Aeon smiled and shrugged his shoulders. "Well, I can say this is the real me."
For a moment, they both stood there, their eyes locked before they burst into laughter.
"Hahaha!"
"You are funny. I thought the first ranker would be a proud, spoiled brat, but you are unexpectedly different. You really can never judge a book by its cover."
"True. The same goes for me. You have opened my eyes, Ms. Auralith," Aeon said, looking at Lunaria in a new light.
"It was nice meeting you. And please, call me Lunaria," she said, smiling at him as she extended her hand again in a greeting gesture.
"Lunaria it is, then. It was nice meeting you too." Aeon extended his right hand, and the two shook hands.
Suddenly, a loud voice echoed from the entrance of the lecture hall, drawing everyone’s attention.
"Aeon!"
