Chapter 120: The Cloudwater Sect Doesn’t Need Traitors
After ensuring that every single disciple was fully healed and their foundations were even more solid than before, Yu Liang finally decided it was time to leave.
"Senior Brother Yu, please, you must take the credit for these," Ling Tao urged, stepping forward with a deeply respectful bow. "If it weren’t for you, we would all be dried up husks by now. These merits solely belonga to you."
The other disciples nodded vigorously, their eyes filled with absolute sincerity. They practically forced him to accept the heads, refusing to let him distribute the glory.
Yu Liang sighed helplessly. "Fine. If you insist."
He then walked over to the pile of corpses and casually began collecting the heads of the Passion Sect disciples, including Overseer Zhao to use as proof for the mission.
With a wave of his hand, he stored the gruesome trophies in his spatial ring.
The group then turned and began to out of the underground cave, after walking through the dense forests of Blackstone Mountain, the atmosphere relaxed noticeably, the disciples were chatting enthusiastically, basking in the relief of their survival.
They had been walking for about half an hour when Yu Liang suddenly stopped in his tracks.
He didn’t look at the forest. Instead, he tilted his head and looked up at the sky. A faint smile appeared on his lips.
"It seems the celebration is not over yet," Yu Liang said casually.
" Celebration?" Ling Tao blinked, confused. "Senior Brother Yu, what do you mean?"
Before Yu Liang could answer, the sky above them suddenly rippled like water. A massive, blood red light bloomed across the sky, rapidly expanding until it formed a colossal dome that covered not just the forest, but the entirety of Blackstone Mountain.
A heavy aura pressed down on them.
"Just as I thought," Yu Liang muttered. "They didn’t just seal the area, judging by it’s size they sealed the entire mountain."
Before the disciples could process the shock of the massive formation, the rustling of leaves echoed from three different directions.
Whoosh
Whoosh
Whoosh
Dozens of figures burst from the shadows, completely surrounding them on three sides.
They were pinned.
At the front of the three groups stood three cultivators radiating terrifying auras. They were none other than Han Kuang, Li Mei, and Ma Teng, the leaders of the other three Passion Sect bases.
Behind them stood elite Disciples of Passion Sect, their weapons were already drawn, eyes glowing with murderous intent.
Han Kuang’s eyes swept over the Cloudwater Sect disciples, his voice booming like thunder. "Which one of you is the killed our Sect’s most prized disciple? I’m talking about Which one of you slaughtered the Overseer?!"
The pressure of three Peak Foundation Establishment Real experts, combined with disciples, was suffocating.
Yet, despite being vastly outnumbered and outmatched, not a single Cloudwater Sect disciple flinched. Ling Tao stepped forward, drawing his sword. "Demonic dogs! You think we would betray one of our own to the likes of you? Come and die."
"Good! Very good!" Li Mei chuckled. "The righteous sects always talk about loyalty and brotherhood. Let’s see how long that loyalty lasts."
The three leaders exchanged a glance and simultaneously released their full auras. The spiritual pressure crashed down like a physical weight. Several weaker Cloudwater disciples coughed up blood, but they still refused to step aside or point a finger at Yu Liang.
Internally, however, the three leaders were panicking.
’These trash are stubborn,’ Han Kuang thought. ’We can kill them all easily. But we can’t just kill them. The Mountain Corpse Asura is not a fool. If we bring him a random head, he will sense the difference and skin us alive. We need the genuine head of the guy who killed Mo Feng. We have to force them to reveal him.’
"Since you all want to die together, I’ll help you in that process" Ma Teng sneered. He raised his hands and dozens of corpse puppets burst from the ground, surrounding the Cloudwater disciples, their rusty blades inching closer to their necks. "Last chance! Point out the killer or I’ll start chopping off limbs one by one."
The pressure reached its absolute peak. The sheer terror of imminent, agonizing death finally broke the defense line of three individuals.
"It’s him! It’s him!"
Zhou Kang suddenly screamed, his face twisted in panic. He pointed a trembling finger directly at Yu Liang. "He’s the one! He killed Overseer Zhao! He killed everyone! He did it!"
Beside him, Fang Yuan and Sun Jie also collapsed to their knees, pointing frantically at Yu Liang. "Yes! It’s him! He has a spatial ring full of treasures! He’s the killer! You can check it."
The moment they spoke, the surrounding Cloudwater Sect disciples looked at the three traitors with eyes full of disgust and killing intent.
"You trash." Chen Rui spat on the ground. "Such a cowardly dogs! Senior Brother Yu saved your lives and you sell him out for a scrap of survival?!"
Li Mei let out a sharp, mocking sneer, looking at the loyal disciples with sheer contempt. "Wow~ Look at this~ The so called righteous Cloudwater Sect disciples. When the pressure gets too high, your own people sell you out like dogs. Heheheh~ How pathetic."
Then, Li Mei’s gaze shifted to Yu Liang.
She looked at his pristine white robes and the casual, relaxed way he stood. Her eyes narrowed and a greedy light flashed in her eyes.
"This little fellow is quite handsome."
Li Mei’s lips curled into an unsettling smile as she looked at Yu Liang. "Such a good looking body... It would be a waste to kill him outright. I should capture him and refine him in my Yin Furnace. I’m curious how much essence I can squeeze out of someone like him."
Li Mei had done this more than once.
Over the years, quite a few male disciples had ended up in her hands. Their cultivation, blood essence, and even their bodies had been turned into nourishment for her cultivation furnace.
Seeing Yu Liang, she couldn’t help but feel a little tempted.
Li Mei’s voice suddenly sounded in Han Kuang’s mind through spiritual transmission.
"Help me subdue him. Do not kill him."
There was a hint of excitement in her voice. "His body is too good to waste. If we can capture him alive, I’ll owe you one."
Han Kuang looked at Yu Liang, a sinister smile spread across his face. He raised his hand and made a subtle slashing gesture across his throat, then pointed at Yu Liang’s storage ring.
"Capture him," Han Kuang ordered his men. "Do no kill him and if he has something as these dogs said then loot everything, leave nothing behind."
The Passion Sect disciples erupted into excited, bloodthirsty laughter. They drew their weapons, some even imagining the vast wealth they were about to claim, thinking what if he really is wealthy?
But amidst the roaring laughter and the suffocating killing intent, Yu Liang just stood there, looking at the hundred men rushing toward him, he was almost bored.
This absolute, unwavering calmness infuriated Han Kuang.
It was the look of a someone looking at the ants.
"Arrogant brat! Die!" Han Kuang roared, his patience snapped. He gathered his blood Qi, preparing to unleash a devastating strike to obliterate the boy.
Seeing the leader attack, the Cloudwater Sect disciples didn’t hesitate for a single second. Without Yu Liang even giving an order, Ling Tao, Chen Rui, Gao Feng, and the rest of the healed disciples instantly moved.
They formed a tight, impenetrable circle around Yu Liang, raising their swords, ready to use their own bodies and lives to block the incoming attack for the man who had saved them.
"Senior Brother Yu, we will protect you!" Ling Tao shouted, his eyes burning with determination.
Han Kuang’s blood colored palm strike was mere inches from disciples when—
A blinding pillar of golden fire suddenly tore through the sky, crashing down with the fury of a falling meteor.
BOOM
The golden fire didn’t hit the Cloudwater disciples. It dissipated the incoming attack while simultaneously struck exactly where Zhou Kang, Fang Yuan and Sun Jie were kneeling.
"Arghhh!!"
The three traitors didn’t even have time to scream before the terrifying golden flames engulfed them. The fire was so intense that it didn’t just burn their flesh, it incinerated their spiritual energy and souls. In less than a second, the three greedy traitors were reduced to piles of white ash, not even a bone fragment was left behind.
The golden fire then dissipated into a gentle breeze, leaving rest of the area completely unharmed.
A cold, authoritative and incredibly heavy voice echoed from the sky above, carrying the undeniable pressure of a Core Formation Realm expert.
"The Cloudwater Sect doesn’t need traitors."
