Chapter 337: Chapter 337: Cleansing Gale of the Dragon

The black orb screamed toward Seraphina, a sphere of concentrated corruption that would have dissolved any normal cultivator on contact.

She didn’t flinch.

She raised the Tempest Azure Blade above her head, the curved steel catching the arena’s golden light. Her emerald eyes narrowed, and for a single breath, the world went silent.

Then she moved.

The blade came down in a sweeping arc, and the silence shattered.

A deafening roar of thunder exploded across the colosseum, rattling the barrier and sending spectators clutching their ears.

Azure wind erupted from Seraphina’s body, spiraling up the blade’s edge in a cyclone of compressed air.

Silver lightning wreathed the steel, crackling and snapping like living chains, illuminating her lime-green hair with an electric glow.

The orb hit the cyclone.

There was no explosion.

The black miasma simply... stopped. It hung in the air, suspended by the raging tempest, its corrosive nature unable to touch the pure wind and lightning that surrounded it.

Seraphina’s lips curled into a cold smile.

She swung upward.

The cyclone released with a thunderclap that shook the arena’s foundations. A pillar of azure wind and silver lightning roared into the sky, carrying the toxic miasma with it. The black cloud rose higher and higher, torn apart by the sheer force of the gale, dissolving into harmless vapor as it reached the upper atmosphere.

The arena floor was clean.

Not a trace of poison remained.

The Chimera Captain stared at the empty space where his final attack had been. His beast armor was cracked, his breathing ragged, the forbidden core in his chest flickering like a dying candle.

"How..."

He never finished the sentence.

Seraphina blurred.

Her movement was too fast for the naked eye to track. One moment she was thirty feet away, the Tempest Azure Blade held low. The next, she was behind him, her blade already passing through his defenses.

The sound of steel shearing through beast armor echoed across the arena.

The Captain’s eyes went wide. He looked down at his chest, expecting to see blood, expecting to see his organs spilling onto the stone.

There was nothing.

No wound. No blood. No pain.

But he couldn’t move.

The lightning Qi had done its work. It had traveled through his nervous system, locking every muscle, every joint, every nerve in place. His body was a prison, and he was trapped inside it.

The chimera core in his chest pulsed once.

Then it shattered.

Dust particles scattered from his chest cavity, carried away by the lingering wind. The beast armor cracked and fell away in chunks, revealing the human beneath. His eyes rolled back in his head, and he pitched forward, his face slamming into the stone floor with a heavy thud.

Silence.

The colosseum held its breath.

Seraphina stood over the fallen Captain, the Tempest Azure Blade already sheathed at her hip. Her lime-green hair settled back into its usual high ponytail, the static electricity fading. She looked calm. Composed. Like she had just taken a morning stroll instead of dismantling a Heavenly Spirit Realm cultivator in seconds.

Grand Marshal Vane stepped forward, his voice booming across the arena.

"Thousand Poison Pavilion eliminated! Azure Dragon Sect advances to the Quarterfinals, 7-0!"

The colosseum erupted.

The roar was deafening, a tidal wave of sound that crashed against the barrier and spilled into the streets beyond. The crowd was on its feet, fists pumping, voices screaming, the sheer dominance of the Azure Dragon Sect igniting a frenzy that had been building all day.

Seven to zero.

A perfect score.

In the Azure Dragon dugout, Damon Arcknight rose from his seat, a slow smile spreading across his face.

He watched Seraphina walk back toward the dugout, her stride unhurried, her expression unreadable. But he could see it in her eyes, the satisfaction, the pride, the quiet joy of a warrior who had proven her worth.

Ariel was already on her feet, clapping and cheering. Mio let out a low whistle, her bow resting across her knees.

Mia’s lips curled into a rare smile, her shadow flickering around her feet. Flare crossed her arms, but there was a grudging respect in her eyes.

Alena was already pulling out a recovery pill, ready to hand it to Seraphina the moment she returned.

Lumina stood at the edge of the dugout, her golden eyes fixed on Seraphina.

She had seen many fighters in her years at the Azure Dragon Sect, but this was different.

This was the power of a bloodline fully awakened, a dragon’s fury channeled through a human vessel.

She turned to Damon.

"She’s incredible."

Damon nodded, his gaze still locked on Seraphina as she stepped back into the dugout. "She’s mine."

Seraphina heard him as she passed, and her emerald eyes met his for a brief moment. There was no need for words. The look said everything.

In the VIP box, Alistair Reventon’s face was a mask of cold fury. His fingers gripped the railing so hard the wood creaked. Beside him, Kai Reventon watched Seraphina with a predatory hunger, his tongue tracing his lips.

"That woman... I want her."

Alistair shot him a glare. "Focus on the tournament. The Azure Dragon Sect is proving to be more troublesome than anticipated."

Kai’s grin widened. "Troublesome means fun."

In the royal box, King Aurelius Solaris leaned forward, his fingers steepled beneath his chin. His eyes were fixed on Seraphina, then shifted to Damon.

"Azure Dragon Bloodline... in a core disciple. Interesting."

Seraphina reached Damon’s side, and he placed a hand on her shoulder. She looked up at him, her emerald eyes soft.

"I held back."

"I know."

She smiled, a rare, genuine smile that reached her eyes. "I wanted to show them what we’re capable of."

Damon’s golden eyes met hers. "You did exactly that."

The crowd was still cheering, the name of the Azure Dragon Sect echoing through the colosseum like a battle cry.

The message was sent.

The tournament was no longer a competition.

It was a declaration.

And Damon Arcknight intended to make sure everyone understood who was coming for the throne.
