Derrick watched from the corner of his eyes as Beth walked out of the store with the metal bat.

But at the same time he had never taken his eyes from the trial looking thug who was now giving a very dangerous feeling.

It was the first time he fought someone who was using Enhanced Energy against him.

Can I even win? No, thinking like that will only make me loose even if there is aslightest chance. Derrick inhaled sharply, the muscles under his clothes bulged with power as he shot forward.

One second Derrick was far away from the man and the other second he was slipping right through his guard.

Or, so he thought.

"Crooked Lion Fist." The fist came faster than he saw the man move.

Right before the fist made contact with his body, Derrick saw a golden Lion covering the fist.

Boom!

The fist finally landed on Derrick’s stomach from the side, sending him crashing into the cabinets on the wall in the back.

"Haha! Did you see that? That is the result of not taking me seriously?" Tha frail mobster threw his head back and laughed in triumph.

He has learned a skill manual... Derrick realized it a bit too late as he got up from the ground, pushing the ruble aside.

He lifted his shirt and where the punch had landed, he noticed a fist shape bruise blowing beautifully.

Urgh... if I hadn’t twisted my body and cushioned the impact on the last second, It would have a lot worse than just a bruise. Lowering his shirt, Derrick pulled out a pill from his system.

"I was hoping to take my time and eat them." He stared at the white colored pill and sighed.

Suddenly 4 more such pills appeared in his hands and he swallowed them all in one go.

"Hmm?" Derrick’s opponent frowned when he saw him taking pills in the middle of the battle.

"Are you seriously taking supplements in the middle of the battle without using Enhanced energy?" Suddenly his eyes widened as if he had finally realized something, "Wait...."

"Do you not know how to use enhanced energy? Now it all makes sense, seeing how young you are." He looked as if he had cracked some great mystery by himself.

But his frown deepened when he saw white mist coming out of Derrick’s body. "Wait... is that minor boost pill? Do you think a spontaneous boost of 30% in physical strength would help you?"

"What are you yapping about?" Derrick rolled his shoulder with an annoyed look on his face.

He could not stand hearing him anymore. He could feel the budding power within his body.

Normal humans had stats of stats of 10 points.

Low Physical Strengthening Stage being had the same for about 20 points.

For middle stage it was about 30

And for the late stage, the base points for strength and speeds were 50.

From there one, a great leap is noticed in the break through of physical strength when someone reaches the Enhanced Being Stage.

100 points.

Just their physical strength simply doubles itself.

But that was only for those who used average pills to break through. If someone uses a low purity pill, their physical prowess is lower.

Currently after taking 5 Divine Strength Pills, Derrick Stood somewhere around 80+ points.

Derrick moved again.

This time he decided to use a more indirect approach.

His zig zagged his way to his opponent instead of directly charging at him.

"Hmm.. Your speed is still the same, I guess it was not a minor boost pill after all. Yeah, makes sense taking 5 of those at once would have killed you by now."

Adjusting his short hair into a slick back hairstyle, the man arrogantly did not even look at Derrick.

"I should hurry up or boss will nag me for taking so long for such a simple task." The man finally turned his head in the direction where he sensed Derrick, "Count it as your luck running dry when you decided to step in the path of king of Lowry—"

The man froze mid speech when he saw no one in the direction he was looking.

Startled, he snapped his head to the front almost expecting an ambush but, there was none.

What happened? Where did he go? He looked around but there was no trace of Derrick anywhere.

He could hear the clashes of metals outside but there was not a trace of Derrick’s presence inside the room.

Woosh!

The silence in the shop did not last for long. He sensed something in the air shifting and whipped around only to see a broken plank of wood flying in his direction.

"Oh, no." Feeling his instincts screaming at him he turned back around and finally noticed the boy he had been looking for.

But, it was already too late.

Derrick was already standing a step away from him, his open palm reaching for his torso.

What does he intend to do? The man thought when Derrick calmly touched his chest without using much forced behind his movement.

He almost let himself relax. But... that was his biggest mistake.

Splash!

Somehow a knife had appeared in Derrick’s hand and its blade was already inside his stomach.

How? Those were his last thoughts as the knife twisted inside his heart and the darkness claimed his consciousness.

"Huff... huff..." Derrick stared as the body of the dead thug fell to the ground with a thud and color drained from his face. ’I have done it...’

’Calm down. Calm down.’ Derrick took deep breaths and forced himself to calm down before a prompt of the system appeared before him.
