Chapter 126: Chapter 126: The Invitation From The Guild Master
Derrick folded the slip of paper back up and slipped it into his pocket.
Keira is injured? Derrick wondered, his mind racing.
"Thanks, Maki," Derrick said, giving her a quiet nod.
"Be careful, Derrick," Maki replied softly, watching him with concerned eyes.
Derrick turned around and walked out of the gym into the cool air.
Thankfully, he had taken his new luxury car out for a drive today.
He unlocked the doors and climbed into the driver’s seat.
As the door shut, the internal sensors inside the car activated.
His sports gear twisted and reshaped itself smoothly, changing into a clean, comfortable set of casual clothes.

Vroom!
"A handwritten note..." Derrick muttered to himself, looking out at the road.
"She didn’t text because she knows her phone feed is being watched, or she wanted to avoid leaving any digital trail."
After a full rev, Derrick pulled the car from neutral and moved it out onto the main street.
On his way toward Sunshine Hospital, he pulled over near a quiet street market.
He stepped out and walked into a small flower shop on the corner.
"Welcome! How can I help you today, young man?" the florist asked with a warm smile.
"I’ll take a fresh bouquet of white lilies, please," Derrick said.
He paid for the flowers and then walked over to the neighboring fruit stand.
He picked out a fresh, full basket packed with apples, grapes, and oranges.
"I just hope she is not the one who is injured." Derrick commented softly to himself as he carried the gifts back to his car.
He set the lilies and fruit basket carefully on the passenger seat.
Derrick got back behind the wheel and set his navigation directly toward the Hospital.
Derrick walked right past the AI staff at reception, holding the bunch of lilies and the fruit basket.
He made a beeline for the private elevators.
Along the hall, a few guards in black uniforms were walking around. The Golden Dawn Guild logo was stamped right on their chests.
Derrick ignored them and stepped into the open lift.
Two giant Golden Dawn guards were already inside, standing stiffly against the back wall.
"Gentlemen," Derrick said with a casual nod, acting like they were his age.
The two guys stared down at him.
Their eyes twitched at the exact same time.
Who the fuck greets someone like that?
They traded a confused look, clearly not expecting a kid to talk to them like equals, but ended up giving him two stiff nods anyway.
Derrick turned toward the panel and pressed the button for the 7th floor.
Ding.
The whole elevator went dead silent.
Behind him, both guards instantly froze up.
Derrick could feel their tense fingers pressing against their weapons and their eyes staring holes in his back.
But he acted as if nothing was wrong.
Ding.
The lift stopped at the seventh floor and the doors slid open.
Derrick took one step out, then stopped.
Two heavy-set Golden Dawn guards stepped right into his space, towering over him to try and intimidate him.
"Hold it right there, kid," the guard on the left barked, crossing his arms. "This whole floor is closed to outsiders. Turn around and get back in the lift."
Derrick didn’t flinch. He didn’t even blink.
He just casually shifted the fruit basket to his other arm and looked up at them.
"I’m here to visit a family member," Derrick said smoothly, his voice completely calm.
The two guards exchanged a brief look, then glanced down at his lilies and fresh fruit.
"There’s nobody from your family up here," the second guard said, shaking his head. "You got the wrong floor, kid. Go back to where you came from."
Derrick took a calm step forward.
The guards instantly tensed, their hands twitching near their weapons.
"So," Derrick asked, looking them right in the eye, "are you telling me Keira Chen isn’t in room 706?"
The guards’ faces went blank with shock.
"Where the hell did you learn that name?" the lead guard growled, his eyes narrowing in suspicion.
Before Derrick even answered, both guards lunged forward, reaching out aggressively to grab him by the collar.
Their fingers closed on thin air.
[Veiled Presence.]
Derrick’s body completely vanished from right in front of their eyes.
These men weren’t average security—every guard on this floor was at the Enhanced Being stage.
Their instincts and reaction speeds were far beyond normal humans.
Yet not a single one of them saw him move.
Without making a sound, Derrick was already standing quietly right behind them, the bouquet of lilies and fruit basket still resting comfortably in his hands.
The guards spun around, reaching for their weapons in a panic.
"Stand down."
A smooth voice echoed through the corridor, stopping the guards in their tracks.
A slender, handsome man with bright golden hair walked around the corner, followed closely by a stunning female secretary.
The guards immediately snapped to attention and lowered their hands.
Derrick stood there holding his lilies and fruit basket, casually shifting his eyes back and forth between the golden-haired man and his secretary.
The man’s eyes narrowed slightly at Derrick’s shameless gaze, but he kept a calm, composed expression.
"I didn’t know Keira had a second younger brother," the man said, looking Derrick over.
"I’m her student," Derrick corrected smoothly.
The man looked at him with a curious expression. "Then why did you tell my guards you were family?"
"If a mentor isn’t the closest thing to family, then what is?" Derrick asked, completely unbothered.
The man smiled, clearly admiring Derrick’s calm demeanor and the impressive skill he had just shown against his guards.
"Good looks, sharp instincts, and serious talent," the man said. "How about coming to work for the Golden Dawn Guild?"
Derrick offered a polite smile.
Even though he could tell the man standing right in front of him was an elite powerhouse in the Superhuman Realm, Derrick didn’t bother to mince his words.
"I’ll pass," Derrick replied easily. "I’m still pretty young, I’ve got a lot to learn... and honestly, I don’t really like guilds."
The golden-haired man froze for a second, caught off guard by the kid’s bluntness.
Then he broke into a loud laugh.
