Chapter 567 -564: Surgery

Removing those fragments, which clung like stubborn plasters, was no simple task.

They were stuck fast to the meatball’s body, and some were even deeply embedded in its flesh.

The power of these “medicines” clung tenaciously to the meatball, leaving even Xi somewhat at a loss.

However, Xi was actually very excited. The chance to participate in a healing with a powerful senior would be a great learning experience.

Mo Ling gently placed his hand on the meatball’s body, prodding its fatty flesh. At the same time, the teleportation frame slowly compressed and adjusted, taking aim at the chaotic mess of fragments.

“This one first. Get ready,” Mo Ling said, pointing to one of the fragments.

Xi watched intently, having already gathered his power.

The instant the fragment vanished, Xi immediately filled the space with a medicine he had prepared. The right kind of medicine would fuse completely with the patient after the treatment was finished. Xi had also added the power of Coordination to his medicine, which would help the patient better adapt to the healing energy.

After Xi’s new medicine covered the meatball, the gap just carved out by Mo Ling rapidly filled in. Not only that, but this medicine was highly compatible with the meatball, quickly merging with it as one. There was no sense of disharmony at all.

If the previous medicines were “ugly patches,” Xi’s new medicine was like an “original part.”

Seeing the gap restored to its original state, Mo Ling was also very surprised.

“Xi, nicely done,” Mo Ling couldn’t help but praise.

“I’m going to speed up now. If you can’t keep up, let me know.”

“Understood, Senior.”

There were still many of these disharmonious patches on the meatball. Mo Ling knew he had to speed up.

With that thought, he aimed the teleportation frame at the patches.

With the first one’s success as a guide, Mo Ling no longer held back. He activated the teleporter, and the patches vanished one by one. Xi immediately filled in all the gaps, restoring the meatball’s body to its original state.

As they continued, the speed of Mo Ling and Xi’s teamwork grew faster and faster. They no longer needed to speak to understand each other.

Because the patches were irregular in shape, no matter how carefully Mo Ling controlled the teleportation frame, he would invariably harm the meatball’s body, leaving behind smooth incisions.

But Xi quickly filled these incisions as well. He had specifically added the power of Regulation to his medicine, a force that specialized in mending these excess cuts.

Seeing that Xi was still handling it with ease, Mo Ling stopped holding back entirely, his speed increasing even more.

Before long, Mo Ling had completely stripped all the patches from the meatball’s body, and the wounds were gradually healing under Xi’s power.

Mo Ling stopped his teleportation, but Xi continued to monitor the meatball’s condition.

‘The gigantism and obesity still need to be regulated…’

‘Its diet needs to be adjusted back, too…’

‘As for the psychological trauma… there’s not much I can do about that. It will have to overcome that on its own. I don’t dare interfere with its mind…’

‘Its microbiome might undergo a drastic change, and its endocrine system will need to rebalance. I should be able to accelerate the balancing process to get it through this difficult phase sooner.’

Xi meticulously examined the meatball’s physical condition. Even though all the patches were gone, he continued to help adjust its body until the meatball returned to its original form…

It was an adorable, one-eyed pig. It wasn’t very large, standing only about knee-high. It was currently lying on the ground, its two ears twitching constantly. Though still plump, it looked much healthier, and the folds of excess fat on its body were gone.

Xi squatted beside the one-eyed pig, gently patting its head. Then he moved behind it, lifted its tail, and inspected it carefully.

“There shouldn’t be any more problems, but it still needs to rest for a while.”

Watching this, Mo Ling suddenly asked, “You know it?”

Back in the Black Wall Maze, Xi’s reaction to seeing the pig suggested he knew it. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have rushed over to soothe it immediately.

“Yes, Senior, I know it.” Xi answered earnestly while stroking the one-eyed pig. “It’s also… a companion of mine, I suppose.”

“A companion?” Mo Ling looked at the pig, surprised. “Is this pig a healer too?”

“Of course not.” Xi quickly waved his hands. “It’s Poke’s pet. It often helps us find medicinal herbs…”

As Xi explained, Mo Ling gradually began to understand the pig’s origins:

Poke was the companion who had healed the parasitic plants with Xi. The two of them were the resident healers on Hundred Flowers Island, along with this pet pig known as “Big Eye.”

Perhaps from learning by observation, Big Eye learned to find medicinal herbs on Hundred Flowers Island. Although healers could cure a patient’s body, patients still needed to recuperate after leaving the Hua Sheng Islands. This was where specific herbs became useful.

Poke was a very warm-hearted healer who often sent patients away with plenty of herbs, which were the very ones Big Eye had found all over Hundred Flowers Island.

Big Eye often found rare herbs, helping Poke a great deal. Sometimes Poke would give the surplus herbs to Xi, and over time, Xi developed a deep impression of Big Eye.

Even though Big Eye was completely unrecognizable when Xi saw it in the maze, he had immediately identified it as the pet pig that always followed Poke around.

“When Big Eye first came to the Hua Sheng Islands, it was just a piglet. It wouldn’t have survived if we sent it away, so Poke took it upon himself to adopt it. Poke’s always been like that…”

Xi spoke nostalgically of the past as he stroked Big Eye.

“So that’s the story.” Listening, Mo Ling also walked over to Big Eye, squatted down, and patted its head.

“How’s its recovery?” Mo Ling asked with concern.

“It’s almost done. By the time I get out, it should wake up,” Xi said lightly. “I’ll ask it why it ended up like this.”

“You can communicate with it?” Mo Ling was a little surprised.

“Yes. Its intelligence is similar to a Red Spirit Flower’s. I should be able to get some useful information out of it.”

…

In the maze, Li Luo watched as the meatball, soothed by Xi, gradually fell asleep. Immediately after, its body began to shrink, and the excess fat and folds on its skin slowly vanished.

Not only that, but the black chains also suddenly broke apart. The meatball actually transformed back into an adorable one-eyed pig, lying motionless in Xi’s arms.

With a flash of light, the one-eyed pig twitched its ears and opened its eye.

Its big, bright eye studied Xi for a moment, then looked over at the nearby Li Luo. After spotting the black rabbit held by a rope, the one-eyed pig fearfully hid behind Xi again.

“Don’t be afraid. We’ve already caught it,” Xi said reassuringly, patting the one-eyed pig’s head.

But the one-eyed pig still didn’t dare to come out, hiding behind Xi and oinking nervously.
