I'm Trapped in the Block
Chapter 564: Magic Bean and Giant
Chapter 564 -561: Magic Bean and Giant
Mo Ling watched as the Headless Giant rose from the ground. Its body, over three meters tall, towered before him like a great black mountain.
On the surface of the giant’s body, black spheres constantly writhed. These small black orbs rose and fell like shifting sand, as if trying to swallow Mo Ling’s very gaze.
After the giant stood up, it immediately reached for Mo Ling. But this was the Block Space; how could Mo Ling let it succeed? His vision plunged directly into the giant’s arm.
The moment they were observed, the black spheres making up the giant’s arm immediately began to break down and dissipate, turning into a wisp of black smoke and vanishing without a trace in the blink of an eye.
Having lost its arm, the giant couldn’t maintain its balance and collapsed to the ground again. The black spheres writhed, filling the gap where its arm had been, and soon, the giant’s arm grew back.
However, because the number of black spheres was limited, the giant’s body had shrunk considerably.
‘Is it because it’s not a living creature, but a type of weapon, that it wasn’t killed by the teleportation?’ Mo Ling guessed that was likely the case.
The giant, its arm regrown, stood up once more and reached for Mo Ling. Its movements were identical to before, as if it were following some kind of program.
After Mo Ling disintegrated another of its arms, the giant fell once again, then began regenerating the limb.
And so, its arm regrown, the giant’s form shrank once more, leaving it just over two meters tall.
The giant reached for Mo Ling again with the exact same motion. This time, Mo Ling’s vision plunged into all four of its limbs, disintegrating it until only a small clump remained.
The black spheres on the ground writhed, struggling to repair its body. But this time, it didn’t seem to be trying to return to its giant form.
The black spheres gathered at the bottom, forming short little limbs, while the upper part converged into a chubby sphere. Still headless, it was round and plump, like a fat, black, headless rabbit.
Once the repairs were complete, the black rabbit didn’t charge at Mo Ling. Instead, it began to run about frantically inside the Block, completely disoriented.
After scrambling around for a bit, the black rabbit seemed unable to find the right direction, so it returned to the center and stood there dumbly, as if it had crashed.
Watching the black sphere aggregate’s reaction, Mo Ling began to understand something.
‘Its behavior pattern has changed.’
If the previous giant was in “attack mode,” the current rabbit was in “escape mode.” The black spheres adopted different behavioral patterns depending on their quantity, but no matter the mode, they all seemed incredibly rigid.
In giant mode, it only attacked repetitively. In rabbit mode, it only ran around randomly, and after discovering it couldn’t escape, it would crash again.
‘This really doesn’t seem like a living thing. It’s more like some kind of pre-programmed, transforming machine.’
Mo Ling wanted to understand the principles behind this machine, but unfortunately, the black spheres absolutely did not permit observation.
‘How do they detect my observation?’
Mo Ling was also curious about who created these black spheres and for what purpose.
Looking at the dazed black rabbit, Mo Ling grew puzzled.
He originally thought this black sphere weapon was only meant to target healers, but now it seemed the spheres had other functions as well.
‘It’s a multi-functional weapon.’
So far, Mo Ling had only seen the giant form, the rabbit form, and the “sunspot” form that had been inside the administrator’s Healing Space.
‘Perhaps under certain conditions, there are other forms as well.’
As he thought, Mo Ling took out an electronic screen and began to record information about these black spheres.
…
Outside the Block, ever since that shadow had disappeared, Li Luo and Xi had been discussing the anomaly on the Central Island.
“You just said you smelled something strange. What kind of smell was it?” Li Luo asked curiously.
“The smell of medicine.”
“Medicine?” Li Luo took a deep breath but couldn’t smell anything.
Xi’s cluster of light wobbled, his tone also somewhat puzzled. “Why would the medicine leak out? It’s supposed to stay inside the Healing Space.”
Xi picked up a stone from the ground and rubbed it. The stone suddenly turned into a piece of coal, but its surface was covered in colorful gemstone fragments. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
“It’s a mess… The medicine has seeped out.”
Looking at the strange piece of coal, Li Luo was very confused. “What exactly is this ‘medicine’?”
“It’s our healing power. Our healing power is originally supposed to exist only within a Healing Space. Curing different illnesses requires different medicines.”
“The medicine needed to heal external wounds involves sterilization, cleaning, and knitting… The medicine for a cold involves destroying viruses, changing temperature, and re-regulating… When different healing powers are combined, they become a single ‘medicine,’ one that targets a specific illness.”
“But now, this combined healing power has seeped into reality, spreading everywhere. It even interferes with the normal use of healing powers. The anomaly on this piece of coal is a result of that interference.”
Xi said in a low voice, carefully studying the coal in his hand.
Listening to Xi’s explanation, Li Luo started to understand. She was about to ask more when she saw the Block fly toward her.
“What’s wrong?”
An electronic screen teleported to the top of the Block. Li Luo immediately took it and began to read its contents.
“Black sphere weapon? Giant? Rabbit?”
Li Luo carefully finished reading the contents of the electronic screen and then relayed the information to Xi…
After hearing the information about the black spheres, Xi was also very surprised. He suddenly recalled that his predecessor had shown him the same thing.
‘Could it be that those black spheres are the culprits behind the mutation?’
Just as he was thinking this, Xi suddenly saw Li Luo pull at the purple cord on her wrist.
The cord suddenly transformed into a giant purple net and shot toward the Block.
But just then, a headless black rabbit suddenly appeared next to the Block. The purple net made a sharp turn and wrapped the rabbit up tightly.
The rabbit tried to struggle, but it could not escape the purple net’s confines.
“We need to follow this rabbit…” Li Luo said to Xi. This was exactly the suggestion Mo Ling had made on the electronic screen; the rabbit was always trying to escape and might lead them to the culprit.
“Xiaozhi, release its limbs.” While explaining to Xi, Li Luo ordered Xiaozhi to loosen its grip on the rabbit slightly, giving it room to move.
The moment its limbs touched the ground, the rabbit frantically tried to charge into the thick fog. If Xiaozhi hadn’t still been wrapped around it, it would have likely vanished without a trace by now.
It seemed that as soon as it left the Block’s side, it found its escape route.
“Let’s follow it,” Li Luo said decisively to Xi.
Li Luo grabbed Xiaozhi, turning it into a rope. At the other end was the frantically kicking rabbit.
As if walking a dog, the two of them slowly walked into the mist…
And deep within the mist, a massive shadow flickered, as if something was eagerly awaiting the two uninvited guests.
