Chapter 449: Chapter 446: Another Space

Mo Ling looked around curiously.

This was yet another completely different mirror space, larger and more irregularly shaped than any of the previous ones.

’Is this... a triangular pyramid?’

Mo Ling quickly identified the shape of the space.

But before he could take a closer look, a tremor ran through the glass space.

"Charge! Fight the invading Outer God to the death!"

Then, Mo Ling saw a glass dog charge out from a corner.

Countless reflections of it appeared on the mirrored surfaces. The dog shouted, commanding its reflections to surround Mo Ling.

Of course, the dog’s commands had no effect whatsoever. The reflections didn’t follow its orders.

But the glass dog didn’t stop, barreling straight toward Mo Ling.

Its reflections in the mirrors crashed into Mo Ling as well.

"Nice!" The dog praised its reflections in the mirrors.

However, due to its size, the glass dog was sent bouncing to one side after crashing into Mo Ling.

"The Outer God is incredibly strong! My subjects, follow me and keep charging! Kill!"

Shouting, the dog charged forward once more.

Just then, it spotted the rabbit clinging to Mo Ling’s leg.

"My subjects, do you see that?! That’s a god from another world, captured by the Outer God! To keep our world from being overrun, we must steel ourselves and fight the Outer God to the death!"

The dog slammed into Mo Ling once again, only to be sent flying back.

"The Outer God is too powerful! Even I can’t defeat it! But I will fight to the very end, my subjects! I will not abandon you!"

Letting out a tragic, heroic howl, the dog charged at Mo Ling once more.

...

"What are you seeing now?" the Little Elf asked curiously.

"I’m... being attacked," Mo Ling replied, exasperated.

"What kind of attack?"

Not knowing whether to laugh or cry, Mo Ling told the Little Elf what was happening.

The Little Elf sounded just as exasperated after hearing the story.

"That’s just their worldview. You appeared out of thin air, so it’s only natural they’d see you as an Outer God."

"Yeah, I’m trying to talk to it..."

Mo Ling had tried saying all sorts of things to the glass dog, but it simply refused to listen.

"It’s a trick by the Outer God! My subjects, be careful! Do not listen to its voice! Hearing its voice will bewitch you and make you its slave!"

"So evil! Utterly evil!"

The dog struggled, rolling around on the floor as if it were truly suffering from Mo Ling’s "demonic sound attack."

The rabbit, clinging to Mo Ling’s leg, was also watching, completely dumbfounded.

"What are you doing?"

The rabbit looked at the dog and said earnestly, "Please, calm down. We mean you no harm. We just came to get you out of here..."

The rabbit carefully relayed everything Mo Ling had told it before, including the principle of mirror reflections and its own experiences.

Unexpectedly, however, after hearing all this, the dog began to roll around even more violently.

"I’ve been corrupted by the Outer God! Aaaah! Forbidden knowledge has burrowed into my soul, and I am no longer pure! My subjects, I can no longer protect you! Doubt has taken root in my heart—I suspect you’re fake! The Outer God’s ideology is turning me into its slave!"

It looked at the rabbit with pity and said in despair, "You poor captive. You’ve completely become the Outer God’s slave, and now you’re even helping the Outer God spread its corruption. A god, so utterly fallen and without even realizing it. How pitiful! How truly pitiful!"

The dog continued to roll around, spouting nonsense.

"You’ve abandoned your subjects! Become a pawn of the Outer God! Wake up!" it snarled at the rabbit.

The rabbit froze, then looked at the mirrored surface to the side.

"My ’subjects’... aren’t they still here?"

In the reflection, a rabbit was also clinging to the leg of the glass sculpture.

"You! You even offered your own subjects to the Outer God! You don’t deserve to be a god!" The dog suddenly convulsed and collapsed, looking as if it were on the brink of death.

"Betraying your own subjects, turning them into the Outer God’s pawns, and completely submitting... Everything has been utterly corrupted by the Outer God. You’re beyond saving..."

’But... aren’t I the same?’

Lying there twitching, the dog said in anguish, "I’m sorry, my subjects. I’ve been corrupted, too. Soon, I might completely fall to the Outer God and become its slave. I have failed you."

The dog shakily raised a paw, waving at the mirrored surface.

Its "subjects," of course, also raised their paws and waved back.

Finally, the dog’s paw fell limply, and it collapsed completely within the mirror space.

"..."

"What is it doing?" The rabbit was completely baffled.

"No idea." Mo Ling was just as lost.

Just as they were wondering, the dog’s "corpse" stirred.

Then, like a dying candle flaring to life, it suddenly shot to its feet and charged at Mo Ling once more.

This time, however, the dog didn’t attack. It went straight to Mo Ling’s feet, nestled against his ankle, and lay down.

"Outer God, Your glorious ideology has thoroughly purified me! I am ashamed of my earlier, futile resistance. I can’t believe I refused such a magnificent transformation, that I failed to realize what a wonderful and glorious thing it is to become Your slave."

"I apologize for my previous offenses. I am now Your loyal slave. You may command me as You wish, and that includes those ridiculous, soulless subjects of mine."

The dog’s tongue lolled out as it nuzzled Mo Ling’s ankle, its tail wagging furiously.

Mo Ling was stunned once again.

’But I didn’t do anything.’

"Of course You didn’t have to do a thing. I submitted to Your greatness of my own free will," the dog said fawningly.

Seeing the dog’s complete one-eighty, Mo Ling even started to doubt himself.

"I really didn’t do anything, did I?" Mo Ling asked the equally dumbfounded rabbit.

"Not necessarily. It’s possible you did do something, but you just don’t realize it." The rabbit was also stunned by the dog’s transformation.

"Outer God, please allow me to follow in Your footsteps and spread this great ideology to all the worlds!" the dog exclaimed, its body trembling with excitement.

"You want to transcend too, don’t you?" Mo Ling asked wearily.

"Transcend?" The dog froze as if it had just heard the most beautiful word in existence. It dazedly repeated,

"So, the Outer God calls this ideology ’transcendence’? How wonderful. Simply wonderful..."

"Yes, I want to transcend, too! I will follow You and achieve transcendence!"

The dog looked eagerly toward the mirrored surfaces.

"I should have realized long ago. Gods, subjects... it’s all an illusion! I must shatter this illusion and reach absolute reality!"
