I'm Trapped in the Block
Chapter 388 - 385: Lego Man
Chapter 388: Chapter 385: Lego Man
"It is a perfectly standard, perfectly regular cube. It exists outside the entire world, yet is also within it. It possesses a space that envelops all things, and a vision that transcends space..."
As the Lego Man spoke, the image on the electronic screen continued to change, finally transforming into—a boxy, old-fashioned television set.
A standard cube. The entire world was contained within the television’s screen, enveloping everything.
The animated Lego Man on the screen looked through this television and saw the ever-changing world.
"A space that envelops all things, and a vision that transcends space."
This television seemed to meet all the Lego Man’s requirements.
The Lego Man’s eyes lit up as well, and it stared at the television for a long time.
"This is a type of color simulation technology, capable of converting electrical signals into images, is that right?" After watching for a while, it suddenly asked this question in a perfect announcer’s voice.
Hearing this, the robot paused for a moment. "You’re correct. That is indeed the principle behind it."
"A clever application, but I don’t think this is what I’m looking for." The Lego Man looked at the electronic screen and said earnestly, "What I want is true transcendence."
"Then we may not have anything like that," the robot replied. "Only a relic could meet your requirements."
The Lego Man was also very disappointed. "It can’t be helped. Our god has very high standards for divine objects. I’ve been searching for a very long time and still haven’t found anything suitable."
The Lego Man continued to describe the appearance of the divine object, but a satisfactory result was slow to materialize.
That is, until it saw Li Luo, who had just gotten off the ship.
Its gaze instantly fixed on the Block behind Li Luo, and it froze.
The Lego Man immediately lunged forward, but a robot blocked its path.
"What do you think you’re doing?" Seeing the Lego Man’s strange movement, all the robots raised their weapons.
"There it is! There it is!"
The Lego Man’s tone suddenly grew agitated, losing all its earlier composure.
It pointed at the Block, all the bricks of its body trembling.
"That’s the divine object I’ve been looking for! I’ve searched for so long!"
A robot glanced back, then flatly denied the request.
"That one’s not possible."
"Why not? Isn’t everything available for trade?" the Lego Man asked, panicking.
"That item already has an owner. We don’t have ownership of it," the robot explained.
"It has an owner?" The Lego Man couldn’t believe it. "How can it have an owner? How can true transcendence have an owner?"
It clutched its head, seemingly lost in an internal struggle.
"If it’s true transcendence, it can’t have an owner. If it has an owner, it can’t be true transcendence. But that *is* true transcendence, so it can’t have an owner. That person isn’t its owner!"
"You’re lying to me!"
The bricks of its body trembled, and multicolored light shone from the gaps between them. It looked as if it was about to explode.
Seeing this, all the robots quickly fell back and formed a protective barrier around Li Luo.
Li Luo, who had only just disembarked, was also stunned.
"What’s going on?"
"Someone intends to harm you. Please stay behind us," a nearby robot explained.
Although Li Luo didn’t understand the situation, she did as she was told and hid behind them.
The light radiating from the Lego Man grew more intense, and its bricks vibrated faster and faster, nearly flying apart.
Finally, with a series of sharp CRACKLING sounds, the bricks making up the Lego Man’s body burst apart and scattered across the ground.
The multicolored bricks lay in a pile on the mirror-like ground.
All the robots remained on high alert. The other races that had been waiting in line had scattered to a safe distance, as if the danger hadn’t passed.
Sure enough, the bricks on the mirrored surface began to tremble again.
Then, right before everyone’s eyes, they began to reassemble themselves.
CLATTER.
Before long, the scattered bricks had re-formed into a Lego Man.
However, this Lego Man looked completely different. The original arrangement of its bricks was completely jumbled.
Now, standing before them was a portly, good-natured-looking Lego Man.
It first shifted its body a little, then looked around.
"Sigh... I’ve made a mess again..." it sighed helplessly.
Its voice was different, too. This portly Lego Man’s tone was like that of a slick-talking merchant.
It looked at the still-wary robots and cupped its hands in a gesture of greeting.
"My apologies, my compatriot got a bit carried away. That’s just his personality; he gets excited very easily."
Seeing that the Lego Man had returned to normal, a robot slowly approached it.
"What was that all about?" the robot demanded, its weapon still aimed at the figure.
"That’s my other half, you could say. He’s... not all there in the head. He gets fixated on trivial things, then has a complete breakdown and starts spouting nonsense. We try not to let him out. So sorry about that..."
The portly Lego Man wrung its hands, apologizing profusely.
"If you’re not here to trade, leave at once," the robot warned.
"Yes, yes, of course. My apologies for the disturbance." The portly Lego Man backed away a few steps, made a few strange gestures toward the other races hiding in the distance, and then quickly fled the scene.
"What was it doing?" Li Luo asked, her curiosity piqued by the gestures.
"Apologizing. Each race has a different way of apologizing, and it understands their customs," the robot beside her explained. "In the Sea of Creation, there are many benefits to being familiar with the cultures of other races."
Li Luo nodded. The Lego Man had cupped its hands and bowed, and it could speak the human language fluently. It seemed to be very familiar with human culture as well.
Li Luo hadn’t heard the Lego Man’s earlier conversation, so naturally, she didn’t know what had happened.
But Mo Ling had seen everything clearly. The Lego Man wanted to get its hands on the Block.
Not only that, but even as the portly Lego Man was leaving, it kept glancing back in their direction, clearly reluctant to give up.
The words the Lego Man had spoken on the verge of its breakdown also left Mo Ling confused.
’True transcendence?’
’Why would it think the Block is true transcendence?’
Mo Ling had been trapped in this metal cube for so long, and he had never once felt anything "transcendent."
All he felt was endless oppression.
No matter how large the Block was, he was still just in a cage from which he could not escape.
’What part of this is transcendent?’
Mo Ling still felt the television was a better fit for the Lego Man’s request.
In any case, it was just a minor incident. The Lego Man’s explosion hadn’t hurt anyone. After it left, the Abyssal Creatures that had scattered from afar gathered around again and went back to waiting in line.
The robots lowered their weapons and resumed their business.
"You may proceed now. Please be careful and stay safe on your journey."
"Alright."
Li Luo nodded to the robot and headed deeper into the Sea of Creation.
The smooth, mirror-like surface beneath her feet reflected the Young Lady’s figure, flanked by wandering, glass-like creatures.
But the mirrored surface beneath the Block reflected nothing at all...
