I'm the Only Magus in This Witch World

Chapter 192: The 5 Grand Witches’ Dilemma (Part 1)

"So, are you going to tell us what the matter is, or are you just going to wait for us to guess?" One of the Grand Witches who had remained silent until now finally couldn’t hold her silence any longer. She narrowed her eyes, making her silver-colored irises look like 2 horizontal slits.

Her words actually made the other Grand Witches, including Hecate, slightly worried. No one would want to make Galadriel Vigo, the strongest Fate Witch ever known, start guessing things.

Hecate leaned forward in her chair, avoiding eye contact as she said hastily, "No, no. I’m just trying to collect my thoughts."

At last, she started explaining the reason for this sudden meeting, which had pulled everyone away from their important work.

"The thing is, yesterday, the seal I placed on the Underworld entrance suddenly broke, and it opened for a while before closing again on its own."

"You incompetent Witch. You called us here to clean up your mess?" Triss scoffed, unable to believe that the time she could have spent sleeping was now being wasted listening to someone else’s mistake.

But not everyone was selfishly thinking about their own time. The Death Witch, sitting in silence at the table, dressed entirely in black, finally spoke. Her voice came out as the very definition of calmness, like a chill on a cold night.

"Did anything happen while it was open?"

Her dark eyes looked completely emotionless, as though she didn’t even care about the answer to the question. Still, Hecate turned toward her and replied.

"No, but Adam and I felt an unfamiliar presence coming through the broken entrance. It didn’t belong to any of the Desolations. It was something more powerful."

The Life Witch, Bellatrix, had already stopped weeping and returned to her cheerful attitude, but after hearing this, her expression turned worried.

"Do you think another Desolation was born in the Underworld?"

There were already 7 of them there, and so far, they had only managed to indirectly bring 1 of them under their control by placing a seal on it. If an 8th one suddenly appeared, it would definitely throw everything into chaos.

The Underworld was a very important place for them to periodically obtain resources from. It wasn’t something they would want to lose because the balance of power suddenly shifted.

Hecate shook her head.

"I don’t think so."

Her face became more serious as she continued, "What I think is that the presence doesn’t belong to any of the entities from the Underworld. It is connected to someone else, someone from an entirely different realm."

The Grand Witches were taken aback by this unexpected information.

Hecate didn’t let them remain in the dark for long. She took an artifact from her robe and placed it on the table.

It looked like a small pocket mirror, but as soon as she touched its surface, a hologram rose from it, displaying the image of a young boy.

"This boy’s name is Magna. He is actually the real reason the seal on the entrance broke, and as a result, he entered the Underworld."

"He looks young," Galadriel, the Fate Witch, said as she looked at his features, which made him appear at most 8 or 9 years old.

Of course, there was no way he could actually be that young. Anyone capable of breaking Hecate’s seal to enter the Underworld had to be an old monster like Arthas or Master Adam.

While they were thinking that he must simply look young, the Life Witch Bellatrix suddenly laughed as though she found it amusing.

"What do you mean, he looks young? He isn’t even 1 year old."

While she continued laughing, finding it amusing, everyone else simply stared at her in shock.

They were shocked because they knew Bellatrix couldn’t be mistaken when guessing someone’s age.

Hecate sighed. Even after receiving a report from Adam saying that Magna couldn’t be more than 2 years old, she had still been skeptical about it, thinking that perhaps the old man’s eyesight had simply deteriorated with age.

But now that she had heard it from Bellatrix herself, she had no doubt left to believe it.

"Hecate, the entity you were talking about, that presence belongs to... You mean this boy?" Triss suddenly stood up and asked, finding it ridiculous.

Let alone a 1-year-old child having the power to traverse the realms and come to their Witch World, which was already impossible enough to believe, the fact that this person was a boy was another matter entirely.

Hecate also found it difficult to believe, but so far, everything she had investigated pointed toward him.

The way Magna was able to enter the Fairy Hive so casually and even reach another realm from there to save an expedition team.

Then there was his unknown power in the Underworld, which somehow allowed him to make souls return to the living world, even bringing Titus back from death. None of these things could be explained by ordinary means.

But these weren’t enough proof for her to make a final decision.

There was another, more solid reason for it.

She looked toward the grand door of the room and called out.

"Azelith, you can come in."

With her permission, the grand door of the room opened heavily, and a Witch wearing an all-silver ceremonial robe and hat walked inside with small, respectful steps.

"I greet the Grand Witches."

She bowed her head deeply toward the round table.

"Raise your head."

The one giving the order wasn’t Hecate but Galadriel, the Fate Witch, who had a conflicted and confused expression on her face.

"Are you blind?" she asked strangely, looking at Azelith’s lifeless gray eyes.

It was quite strange for a Witch to have this kind of disability, as there were always ways for them to restore even their entire bodies unless they were dead.

But for some reason, Azelith’s blind eyes gave her a strange feeling.

"Yes, Lady Galadriel." Her voice trembled slightly as she answered. "I lost my eyes while trying to see the Fate of someone I should never have tried to look at."
