I'm Secretly the Father of the Yandere Villainess's Daughter
Chapter 156: Marriage 3
Author-san dropped to his knees before the two of them, tears streaming down his face as he sobbed uncontrollably.
The facial expressions that, merely seconds ago, had been topped with an unending layer of absolute confidence—after believing he had ultimately won, seized control of matters, and finally escaped—completely collapsed... Well, he had been handed the ultimate surprise right before he could fully relish his victory.
He was now kneeling upon the hard floor, begging and pleading as though he had been subjected to thousands of years of torture in the most brutal strata of hell at the hands of millions of sadistic demons! This was a passive pleading skill he had been forced to master following the two separate occasions Morzoth had broken into his office and threatened him with absolute erasure.
At that exact moment, inside Cain’s mind, a sudden freeze and processing lag occurred as he looked upon the sight of this collapsed man weeping on the floor.
’Who the hell is this guy?!’ Cain questioned internally... for he had no idea that this was the very man who had transmigrated him into the other world in the first place! Still, he attempted to unravel the details of what was transpiring in this surreal scene.
This wasn’t the sole question swirling in his mind; he was equally bewildered by the sheer terror and hysterical fear this stranger exhibited regarding them killing him. From Cain’s perspective, snatching an innocent guy with messy hair and dark eye bags straight out of his office and dropping him into this deserted building might naturally terrify anyone into imagining bizarre scenarios—especially if the man had just been gearing up in his apartment for a fresh chicken-choking session!
"Shut up... You are far too annoying!"
Suddenly, a surge of crushing purple energy burst from Lucy, completely enveloping Author-san’s mouth and locking it shut!
Even though Author-san resided at the Truth Level, he had no choice before this overwhelming magical dominance but to submit and remain completely silent... Well, perhaps silence was currently his only option for survival!
Lucy stepped forward, speaking in a grave tone: "I didn’t bring you here to kill you... You are here to finalize my and my dear Cain’s wedding ceremony."
In that instant, the largest question mark imaginable formed across Author-san’s face; even the tears streaming down his tear ducts were caught off guard, freezing mid-descent along his cheeks!
Yet his twisted mind immediately whispered a dark interpretation: This is sheer manipulation! These control-obsessed monsters won’t settle for merely executing him in the most gruesome manner alongside agonizing torture without satisfying their depraved whims first; they want him to regain hope before crushing it bitterly, wanting to watch him suffer until his final breath!
Damn it!
Author-san stood up on two legs that trembled visibly beneath the whips of their gazes; despite being a being at the Truth Level, he was certainly not half as powerful as Lucy, who outclassed him by vast margins within the exact same realm.
Lucy dispelled the magic sealing Author-san’s mouth.
He uttered in a stammering tone: "R-Really?... So... if I perform what you ask, will you let me go on my way?"
Though he felt the utter absurdity of his words—alongside the profound humiliation of directing such a question to his executioners while standing beneath the blade of the guillotine—he reasoned for a split second that so long as things were catastrophic anyway, clinging to a final straw and catering to their whims might somehow earn him their mercy!
Lucy replied with unwavering composure: "You can certainly leave afterward."
Her tone was confident and clear, yet doubts devoured Author-san’s mind like fire through dry wood.
"Will you... really not try to hunt me down? Or pull something?"
Lucy’s gaze sharpened instantly, her purple aura flaring to sweep through the area with terrifying heat as she looked down at the messy-haired man: "Are you questioning the credibility of this lady’s words?!"
Author-san shook his head violently and hysterically: "I wouldn’t dare question your words, my lady!... I truly wouldn’t dare!"
He realized on the spot that wisdom demanded zero further questioning or doubt if he wished to leave with his physical body intact and return to his apartment safely without getting beaten to a pulp...
Swallowing his saliva, he added: "Alright, esteemed guests... what precisely is required of me?"
Lucy answered simply: "Play the role of the judge, pronounce us husband and wife, and it ends there."
Author-san nodded in comprehension, attempting to verify she wasn’t joking. In a fraction of a second, he utilized his cosmic magic to alter his attire instantly, donning a luxurious black judge’s robe!
Moving in his judicial robe, he held the hands of the two standing before him simultaneously, positioning himself between them with mock solemnity.
He focused his mind briefly, envisioning the phrasing and terminology he ought to utter in this historic moment: "By the unyielding eternal bond... wait, no... ’with the devotion of love and loyalty’ would be far better..."
Cain and Lucy exchanged bewildered glances as they observed Author-san struggling to craft a literary line to deliver—despite the fact that he could simply say two basic words, "I pronounce you husband and wife," and go on his merry way!
Yet in Author-san’s creative, panic-stricken mind, he felt that unless he delivered a deeply literary blessing brimming with aesthetic flair and distinction, the bride and groom wouldn’t feel satisfied with him and might revoke their permission for his release!
He looked exceptionally strange standing there holding their hands, his eyes closed as he squeezed his imagination to produce the most eloquent cosmic congratulations possible...
Suddenly, he opened his eyes and asked: "Does Master Cain prefer cats or dogs?!"
Cain’s eyes widened in utter astonishment at this bizarre man asking a completely random question with zero relevance!
Cain gritted out in frustration: "What in the hell kind of question is that?! Just finish the damn thing!"
Author-san looked at his dear reader with a stern, preachy tone: "Master Cain... these few words I am about to utter form the magical blessing that will follow you throughout your entire marital life! If it is flawed or incomplete, it will become an eternal flaw within the marriage itself!"
Cain stood speechless, wondering internally from what cosmic logic this man had derived such sheer nonsense!
