Chapter 139: Chapter 129: I Only Belong to You (Part 2)

"Master rank already? That’s pretty fast."

She grinned.

"But it’ll get a lot harder to rank up after this. The last two ranks will probably take a long time. Oh, and I saw there’s some kind of competition for gaming content creators online? The prize money is over ten thousand! At first, they said it’d be held in the first half of the year,

"but when I checked again this morning, it seems they’ve postponed it to the second half of the year. The upside is you don’t have to go anywhere; you can compete from home. But you need a partner."

Han Wenwen gazed at Lin Zhengran, placing a finger on his lips. "Zhengran, are you busy in the second half of the year? You should enter the competition with me, okay? With you there, that prize money is as good as ours, isn’t it?"

"I don’t even know how to answer that. ’The second half of the year’ is a pretty broad timeframe."

"But the competition was just announced; I don’t know the exact dates either."

’This must be the competition Jiang Jingshi is organizing, right?’ Lin Zhengran thought.

After all, when Lin Zhengran had gotten home last night, he’d specifically searched for it. This was the only recent competition with such a large prize pool.

"Let’s talk about it again when they announce the specific dates. I’ll make time for it then," he replied.

Han Wenwen nodded happily. "Then it’s a deal. You’ll compete with me from home."

"Okay." The word had barely left his lips when the red sash around Han Wenwen’s waist suddenly came loose and fell.

It revealed the panties at the top of Han Wenwen’s thighs.

Lin Zhengran looked over, confused. "Wenwen, where are your safety shorts? You just wore it like this?"

Han Wenwen noticed his gaze, her face flushing as she quickly covered herself.

"Ah, of course! Why would I need to wear safety shorts at home?" she said deliberately. "What’s with that look, Zhengran? Didn’t I tell you the whole point of this outfit was to seduce you? I’m your woman, anyway, so why would I be shy about this?"

After saying that, Han Wenwen couldn’t keep a straight face and confessed in a whisper by Lin Zhengran’s ear, "Actually, I just forgot. I thought I had put them on. But don’t worry, Zhengran, I won’t wear this outfit outside. I’ll only let you see it at home."

The man was left speechless.

Leaning unexpectedly against his chest, Han Wenwen suddenly twitched her nose and began sniffing him like a puppy.

Her expression changed slightly as she stared at Lin Zhengran. "Zhengran, what’s that smell on you?"

"What smell? I don’t think I smell like anything."

He sniffed himself as well.

Han Wenwen let out an "Oh." "I forgot, Zhengran, you don’t know about this. Well, I’ll tell you now. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had a special skill that I’ve never told anyone else about. My nose is super sensitive. *Really* sensitive~"

"Is that so?" Lin Zhengran didn’t pay it much mind.

"It’s true! And when I say really sensitive, I don’t just mean I can pick up on the temporary scent of things, like most people think. If I concentrate, I can even smell things someone came into contact with several days ago."

"For real?"

But Han Wenwen’s tone was full of hidden meaning. "I know you might not believe me, Zhengran. How about this? I’ll take a good sniff and tell you what I smell."

"Go ahead and try then."

The Little Fox sat up properly again, then pressed her nose—and practically her whole body—against Lin Zhengran’s chest, sniffing him meticulously. She sniffed here and there, then smelled his arm.

Then she took Lin Zhengran’s hand and sniffed that too.

Afterward, she frowned and shot Lin Zhengran a look, then sniffed his neck and his lips.

Lin Zhengran found this amusing. "So, what did you find?"

A mysterious smile played on Han Wenwen’s lips. "Lots of things. For example, in the past two days when you were with Lili, she rested her head on your shoulder, didn’t she? I don’t mean linking arms, I mean leaning against the side of your shoulder."

Han Wenwen pointed at Lin Zhengran’s right arm. "Right here. Am I wrong?"

Lin Zhengran recalled the day before Jiang Xueli’s competition; she really had buried her face in his shoulder.

And...

Han Wenwen continued, "And Lili also wrapped her arms around your shoulders?"

Lin Zhengran sighed in admiration. "You’re really something else. I mean, that was two days ago. You can really smell that?"

"Amazing, right? And that’s not all." Han Wenwen sniffed one side of Lin Zhengran’s chest, then demanded, "I wasn’t sure at first, but after sniffing for so long just now, I’m certain I can smell... another woman’s scent."

Lin Zhengran: "..."

Han Wenwen bit her lip, placing a finger on it as she thought.

"This scent is very faint, and it’s mixed with the fragrance of a very high-end shampoo. Judging from the smell, you probably didn’t hug her. It’s more like she accidentally bumped into you or something."

She picked up one of Lin Zhengran’s hands. "And you used this hand to steady her, right?"

It was rare for anything to genuinely surprise Lin Zhengran.

"That ability of yours is insane. You’ve had this skill since you were a kid?"

Han Wenwen nodded. "Mhm. But I might not be able to smell scents on other people this accurately. We haven’t just known each other for a day or two, though. A fox is most sensitive to her master’s scent, which is why I know your smell better than anyone else’s."

"But you said scent? What if I switched shampoos? Would your nose still be this sensitive?"

"Of course it would! The scent I’m talking about isn’t shampoo; it’s the scent that belongs only to you, Zhengran. So it doesn’t matter what shampoo or body wash you use. It’s a scent only I know. Anyway, we’re getting off-topic. Who was that girl, Zhengran?"

She smiled as if she were being very open-minded, but her voice held an unreadable emotion. "You’re not thinking of getting a fourth girlfriend, are you, Zhengran? Because judging by the scent, it seems like you were with her for quite a long time. Don’t tell me she was just a stranger, Zhengran."

Han Wenwen reached out and tugged at a spot on his shirt. "Because this spot smells like lipstick and makeup remover. She wiped it for you."

Lin Zhengran: "...You’re really something else."

"Zhengran!" The Little Fox couldn’t hold back anymore. "Who is this new girl?!"

"There’s no new girl. She’s just a friend who accidentally fell, so I helped her up. That’s how the lipstick got on me, and then she helped me wipe it off."

"Really?"

"Of course."

"Well, is she pretty?"

"She’s alright."

Han Wenwen clicked her tongue. "’Alright’ means she’s gorgeous! Because you have impossibly high standards, Zhengran! So... compared to me?"

"You two have different styles; I can’t really compare. But you’re both very pretty."

Peeved, Han Wenwen huffed and lay back down in Lin Zhengran’s arms.

"I don’t want to talk to you anymore, you big womanizer. Let me remind you, Zhengran, the reason I let you have several girlfriends isn’t because Wenwen is so magnanimous, and it’s not because I don’t care. It’s because I don’t get a say in the matter! If you want that many girlfriends, what can little Wenwen do about it?"

She spoke her true feelings:

"I can’t leave you, and I can’t bear to see you unhappy, so even if I get jealous, I can only let you be a womanizer. But even so, I’m very petty! I’m very possessive,

I’m so close with Qingqing, and yet I still don’t like it when you talk to her or get all lovey-dovey with her, let alone with other girls!"

Han Wenwen asked seriously:

"I’ve wanted to ask this for a long time. Zhengran, be honest with me. What’s the maximum number you want? Don’t say you haven’t thought about it. If you haven’t, then think about it now. And whatever you say today is final. This is your only chance. If you go over that number, don’t blame Wenwen for using her ultimate move."

"Ultimate move? What ultimate move?" He was curious.

Han Wenwen described it in a voice that was both fierce and gentle in his ear, "My ultimate move is that when I’m older, I’ll absolutely drain you dry, Zhengran. I’ll make it so you have zero interest in any other girl, and I won’t let you out of bed."

’If I were a normal person, that might be possible,’ Lin Zhengran thought. ’But now... there’s basically no way that could happen.’

He reached out and gave the fox another flick on the forehead.

"Can you be serious for a second?"

But Han Wenwen just pouted.

Lin Zhengran pondered. "But I really haven’t thought about this question before. Let me see... I guess I can give you an answer."

"Really? Then hurry up and tell me, Zhengran."

Han Wenwen tested the waters cautiously, "Three? Four? It’s not five, is it?!"

Lin Zhengran blinked and answered, "Seven at the absolute most, I guess. One for each day is plenty."

"How many?! Seven?! That many! No, no way! Are you saying you already have seven girls you like?" she demanded, her fox-like eyes widening in alarm.

Lin Zhengran laughed. "Of course not. How could I have that many girls I like right now? But you asked for the maximum, didn’t you? I thought about it, and seven is the most I’d want. That’s the limit. Any more than that would be pointless."

"Pointless?!" Han Wenwen puffed up her cheeks indignantly. "Are you saying seven is too few?!"
