Chapter 138: Chapter 129: I Am Only Yours

Lin Zhengran’s phone rang. He pulled it out and saw it was a call from his mom.

But Han Wenwen didn’t know who it was and just looked back at him.

Lin Zhengran answered the phone. "Hey, Mom? What’s up?"

Lin Xiaoli asked over the phone—after all, her son was rarely home—"Ranran, are you coming back for dinner tonight?"

The Little Fox’s expression shifted slightly. She placed a delicate hand on Lin Zhengran’s leg, as if trying to convey something.

Seeing her meaningful look, Lin Zhengran knew what she was implying. "I’m not coming back for dinner tonight. I’m eating out with someone. I’ll be back later tonight."

Lin Xiaoli was pretty used to this. "Not coming back again? All right, then. Your father and I won’t wait for you. Be safe out there, Ranran."

"I know, Mom."

The Little Fox couldn’t help but smile when she heard the call end, but she still turned her head and asked, knowing full well what the answer would be:

"If you’re not going home, Zhengran, who are you planning to eat with tonight?"

Lin Zhengran deliberately teased her, saying with a straight face, "I made plans with a friend this afternoon. After I leave your place, I’m going to eat out with them, so I can’t stay here too long."

Han Wenwen immediately spun around, confused. "A friend? Aren’t we eating here?!"

Seeing the look in Lin Zhengran’s eyes, Han Wenwen realized he was just messing with her. Her expression was a mix of anger, helplessness, and a touch of shy embarrassment as she gazed at the boy she liked. "Zhengran, you’re so annoying. You never used to be like this."

Han Wenwen said stubbornly, "Besides, I don’t care if you really have plans with someone, Zhengran. You just got here, so you’re not allowed to leave."

Lin Zhengran looked at his phone as another message popped up. It was from Jiang Xueli, asking if he had gotten home.

As he replied to the message, Lin Zhengran answered Han Wenwen, "Don’t worry, I’m not leaving. But what are we having for dinner tonight? Is there anything besides your burnt chicken cutlets?"

"Of course there is." After speaking, a curious Han Wenwen leaned in to peek at who he was messaging. "Who’s that now?"

"Lili. She’s asking if I got home."

"Lili? Are you done replying?"

"Yeah, I’m done. She said she’s starting dinner and told me to get some rest early tonight."

’The clever Little Fox, of course, understood the meaning behind Jiang Xueli’s words. It seems something definitely happened between Zhengran and Lili these past two days.’

So, she suddenly blocked Lin Zhengran’s phone screen with her hand, a half-smile playing on her face.

"Since you’re done replying, there’s no need to keep chatting, right? And Zhengran~ what’s with the name ’Lili’? Didn’t you always call her by her full name before?"

Lin Zhengran looked up, answering as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "I changed how I address her."

Han Wenwen snatched his phone, set it aside, and propped herself up with both hands on the bed. She leaned forward, staring intently at Lin Zhengran as if interrogating him.

"And the reason is? You couldn’t have just changed it for no reason, right?"

"Does there need to be a reason? I just felt like changing it, so I did."

"Does she know she’s your girlfriend now?"

"Mhm, you’re so smart."

Han Wenwen’s eyes filled with jealousy. She let out a huff and sat there sulking, her cheeks puffed out.

"I knew there was a reason you were so late this afternoon, Zhengran. I messaged you a little after three, and now..." She took out her phone and checked the time.

"It’s already past six! I got dressed and was waiting at home for you this whole time, but you weren’t in any hurry to come see me. You don’t miss me at all."

"I was late because of the competition, not for any other reason." Lin Zhengran suddenly noticed a red mark on the ring finger of Han Wenwen’s right hand.

It looked like a scratch from something.

"What happened to your hand?" he asked.

Han Wenwen glanced at her finger, seemingly not having noticed it before. "I don’t know. I probably scratched it on my clothes this afternoon. I didn’t even feel it."

Lin Zhengran held out his hand. "Let me see."

Though jealous, the obedient Han Wenwen handed over her hand. Lin Zhengran took the little fox’s "paw."

Han Wenwen’s hands were long and fair, their shape different from the other two girls’, making them seem even more delicate. Lin Zhengran gently touched the small wound.

Han Wenwen’s brows furrowed slightly, and she pursed her lips.

Lin Zhengran glanced at her. "Does it hurt?"

The little fox nodded.

"A little bit."

"Do you have any bandages at home?" he asked.

Han Wenwen pointed to the nightstand drawer. "I think there are a few in there. I bought them a while ago."

Lin Zhengran rummaged through it and found that there were indeed some left. He unwrapped one and put it on Han Wenwen’s finger.

Han Wenwen watched Lin Zhengran’s gentle actions. Jealousy and anger were emotions that often came together, but when it came to Lin Zhengran, she could never stay truly angry.

"There. You didn’t even know you were hurt. Be more careful next time."

After he finished, Lin Zhengran let go, but Han Wenwen didn’t pull her hand back. Instead, she turned her hand and actively gripped his.

"My mind has been filled with you these past few days, Zhengran. How could I possibly notice whether I was hurt or not?"

With that, she leaned over and lay down across Lin Zhengran’s lap.

Like a fox lazing about and acting cute for its master.

"What have you been up to these past few days?" he asked.

"Wondering when my Zhengran would come see me."

"Be serious."

"I am being serious."

"What about besides that?"

Han Wenwen shook her head as she lay on his lap. Her two long, smooth legs were already on the bed, bent slightly and resting near his.

But her mischievous feet would occasionally rub against Lin Zhengran’s calf.

"Well, playing games, then. And making gaming videos. But I feel like my progress slows to a crawl when I practice alone. I only seem to get better when you’re here, Zhengran. It’s magical. Oh, right, I hit Master tier these last few days!"
