Chapter 820: Assassin
Chapter 820: Assassin
I was so shocked by the class leader’s public “marriage proposal”.
Although the weather was warm today, the class leader still wore her school uniform and didn’t wear a short shirt and hot pants like Winnie.
For the class leader, the school uniform was essentially her “uniform”. Depending on the season, she would either choose to wear the school sportswear in the autumn, or a shirt and long skirt in the summer.
She wasn’t like many of the other girls who didn’t like how our school sportswear looked nor was she afraid to wear the summer dresses like Gong CaiCai.
The school uniform that was slightly too wide for other girls was stretched to the limit and seemed somewhat small on her.
The school uniform, which was obviously designed to conceal your figure, failed the task miserably by outlining the class leader’s curves. When matched with her long, dark hair that was bathed in the afternoon sunlight, it exuded a confident and at ease demeanor.
In this situation, if I was Guo JingMing, I would definitely have blurted out:
“The sun is so strong… you’re so tall.”
However, I was the second tallest in class 3-3 (Niu ShiLi was a millimeter taller than me if he stood up straight), so I shouldn’t really say that.
I was completely dumbfounded as if I was struck by lightning and thought about many things in my head while the class leader was getting a little tired of waiting.
“I thought you said you were going to help, why are you just standing there.”
The class leader was neither embarrassed or nervous when I didn’t react to her proposal.
Well, how should I react? Do you want me to accept? I think even when females propose, they still have to get on one knee. Why are you proposing to me while you’re cleaning up? Is marrying me and cleaning the cabinet equally important to you?
I can’t believe you were able to say those words without any shame.
“What’s going on?” The class leader was worried I was having a heart attack when she saw my complexion.
“I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal to ask you to get a clothes hanger for me… are you okay?”
That’s… super confusing! So you were trying to say give me a clothes hanger and not marry me! (It’s a pun)
Hurry up and apologize! Apologize to the clothes hanger!
Before the class leader and I could continue our conversation, Zhuang Ni entered the room wearing all-black. She immediately showed a look of disgust when she saw us standing close to each other.
Next, Xiao Qin, Winnie, Loud Mouth, Little Smart, Eunuch Cao, Mu ZhongMing, Niu ShiLi, and the others also came in one after the other. My conversation with the class leader was interrupted.
Actually, we didn’t really talk about anything. I mistakenly heard “marry me” instead of “give me a clothes hanger”.
After the computer class (also known as the self-study session) began, Zhuang Ni kept pestering the class leader and sat together with her. If the class leader didn’t sacrifice herself, then Zhuang Ni would go pester Gong CaiCai.
While the class leader sat quite far from me, several girls sat in a row to my right. In order of distance from closest to furthest from me would be: Xiao Qin, Winnie, Loud Mouth, and Little Smart.
“I have to be home on time after school today or my mom will get mad.” Xiao Qin hung her head and said to me, “It looks like I won’t be able to go with you to visit Ai Mi tonight…”
“It’s okay, I’ll be there to keep an eye on him.” Winnie patted her chest and stated, “I won’t let Ye Lin have a chance to be unfaithful.”
After discussing what they were doing after school, Xiao Qin and Winnie discussed the follow-up plot of “Cthulhu also wants love”.
“Since Cthulhu… was sent back to the hospital by a single bullet from the cross-eyed assassin, it means he isn’t very strong. How is he going to deal with the alien insect invaders by himself?”
Winnie said with worry.
It was because you guys selfish gave Cthulhu a battle power of 5! Cthulhu is a evil god! Do you think he would become an evil god if he can’t even stop a bullet with his butt? The first test in order to get promoted to an evil god might be to stop a bullet with your butt!
As gossip experts, Loud Mouth and Little Smart had already heard about Xiao Qin’s manga, so they joined in on the conversation.
“Xiao Qin’s manga is hilarious. I almost choked on the meat bun I was eating while reading it yesterday.” Loud Mouth expressed.
If you were reading the recent chapters, weren’t those all about Cthulhu visiting the anal hospital? I can’t believe you were able to eat while reading that.
“I heard that the next fight is against aliens?” Little Smart frowned, “According to the character setting you guys gave Cthulhu before, he probably can’t win alone, he would have to have helpers.”
Cthulhu was having an affair with his own secretary, Hydra, and Dagon, who had been cuckolded, was so angry that he had gone so far as to hire an assassin to assassinate his boss. His own team was about to fall apart, so how could there be any outsiders who would lend a helping hand.
Xiao Qin also asked the same question, and admitted that she hadn’t read much of the Cthulhu mythology. She basically just borrowed the names and made things up, so it was hard to even think of creating a plausible helper.
“No need to create a new character.” Little Smart said decisively, “Telling the story with as few characters as possible is the best way to do it. It’s not hard for Cthulhu to get through the impending crisis. All he has to do is say one sentence and he can salvage his relationship with Dagon and get his team to unite.”
“Bullshit.” Winnie didn’t believe it for a second, “Men would be furious at being cuckolded, so there’s nothing you say can turn things around.”
Me, Xiao Qin, Winnie, and Loud Mouth, all held our breaths and stared at the smug-faced Little Smart in unison, waiting for her reply.
“Hmph, it’s simple, as long as Cthulhu says to Dagon fondly, ‘Actually, the person I love is you,’ then everything would be ok…”
That’s enough, so basically your solution is to make Cthulhu and Dagon be gay? It looks like you can never leave your rotten nature behind.
Even though it was an outrageous idea, Xiao Qin actually blinked before saying in amazement, “Everyone is so awesome and can give awesome ideas one after another. No wonder some people say that the source of stories come from life itself…”
“No, no, no…” Winnie scratched the back of her head in embarrassment as if Xiao Qin was mainly complimenting her.
“I’ve decided.” Xiao Qin clenched her hands into fists.
“I’ll let Cthulhu and Dagon be gay. I was worried that there wasn’t a love triangle, so now the three of them, who are full of love and affection, can fight the abominable insect invaders side by side.”
“Didn’t you originally want to make a shoujo romance manga.” I said, “Now, I don’t even think it’s suitable for evil gods to read it. If the real Cthulhu reads this manga, he will definitely be so angry that he will vomit blood.”
“It’s to save the country.” Xiao Qin pouted, “Once I finish the interstellar war, then I’ll make a real shoujo manga, and have everyone come and worship me.”
So now it became an interstellar war manga. It went from being an evil god’s office romance to a war against alien aggression. The themes change so fast, but what hasn’t changed was her awful drawing skills…
After school, the class leader once again rode home in a hurry on her bicycle. According to my intelligence I received from Shu Zhe when I ran into him on campus, in the past few days, whenever the class leader got home, she would either ask her mother to help with her hair, or have a long conversation with her. In short, she was basically stuck to her mother all day and it was like her mental age reverted to that of a child.
“You don’t seem as happy as your sister that your mom is back.”
I asked Shu Zhe, who had just entered his second year of middle school.
“She’ll be gone in a few days anyway, and she didn’t bring me back any special gifts.”
Shu Zhe was an ingrate as usual and it made me want to beat him up. I didn’t really do it considering the fact I would meet Fan Chuan, one of the suitors of ‘Xiao Hong’, tonight and didn’t want to cause any more trouble.
Winnie and I walked through the main gates of Qing Zi Academy. We no longer needed a school uniform to enter freely. After all, Xiao Qin’s uncle was the chairman of the Qing Zi Education Group, so the security guards had no reason to cause more trouble for themselves.
After we entered the VIP building and greeted 004 and 005, Winnie ran up to the second floor’s team activity room to warm up. At this time, Ai Mi and Peng TouSi still hadn’t returned from set, and the French chef was still in the middle of preparing dinner.
Naturally, I took this opportunity to go to Dr. Yu for a routine physical checkup and to donate a little bit of blood as research material as agreed between Ai ShuQiao and me.
No one was inside the infirmary or in Dr. Yu’s room. I spotted B-2 patrolling back and forth in the hallway and asked where Dr. Yu had gone.
“Beep. Master number two is in the basement doing research, if you need to see him, please use your cell phone to get permission to meet him first.”
B-2 said expressionlessly to me.
I called Dr. Yu’s cell phone but no one picked up. Actually, Dr. Yu doesn’t have a cell phone, he uses his modified Google glasses to answer calls. I don’t know if he turned it off or if there’s no signal in the basement.
“I can’t get through on my phone, so let me go down to the basement and talk to Dr. Yu personally.”
It wasn’t really necessary, but I still explained to B-2.
“Beep. B-2’s wheels can’t move on steps. Master number three, please take the freight elevator down to the basement with B-2.”
B-2 said while leading the way and brought me to where the freight elevator was located, in a very secluded location.
The interior of the elevator was a bit old, but it was quite wide. It was three times larger than a usual elevator. I think those animal cages in the basement were transported down in this elevator.
B-2 used its clamps to press the button for basement level 1. The elevator door slowly closed, and the momentary feeling of weightlessness arrived as expected…
“Beep.” B-2’s LED eyes suddenly began to flicker wildly. Its hemispherical head rotated 180 degrees, and looked back at me in a twisted and bizarre position. It raised its clamp and revealed the round hole right in the middle which contained the tip of an anesthetic needle.
“Beep. Taking care of you here shouldn’t disturb anyone else.”
