Turning back to L, who could only grab his head in embarrassment about even working with someone like V.

"So what’s my job this time? Stealing another powerful gem, which turned out to be a painted rock?" Steven spoke, trying to hold his laughter in.

But L looked at him dead serious. "This time it won’t be so easy," as he handed him the letter.

Steven ripped it open, pulling out a sheet of paper inside it, and began reading it out loud.

"Codename: S, you are here by order..." But then he stopped his face darkening.

"What’s wrong, Steven?" J asked, staring at him, waiting for an answer.

"Ups, it seems like this mission was not made for your ears; how sad." After speaking, he folded the paper and placed it inside his pocket.

As he turned away J spoke once more, " don’t be that way S tell us."

"Quiet, J; if it’s a mission that requires it, he will not tell anyone. "L spoke, giving his teammate a sharp glance.

"Ok, ok, I get it; no telling, I guess." J tried to look mad, but it looked more like an abandoned pet.

"I guess I am free to leave now, right?" He asked, already stepping towards the broken entrance.

L only shrugged, "Just make sure ’they’ don’t catch you." His face was serious as even J sat down straight at his words.

"You’re talking about sun and moon? Ah, I wouldn’t worry about them for me," Steven spoke, stepping outside. L tried to give him another warning, but Steven couldn’t hear it anymore.

Tapping on his wristband, he once again became invisible to the human eye.

"Sun and Moon... Those hero acting students," he whispered to himself as he stepped through the street.

They had appeared only shortly after the end of the first school event, probably having been inspired by the dangers happening around school.

"How do those guys think the mighty Steven Bright, a ... former diamond class, will lose to some students?" He could only shake his head at his own reminder.

Much more worrying than the bad mission self that was assigned to him. "Do I really have to infiltrate the next student event?" He asked himself.

But his orders were clear: join the event and inspect a new candidate for their cause. Without being seen by anyone, of course.

He would love to curse at his new boss, but when a finger orders you himself, you just do your job and stay quiet.

Stepping past a group of Jade grades who seemed to be being scammed by one of the shop owners.

Steven knew what shop to avoid in the future, as he returned to Main Street, which had gotten considerably more empty.

Most of the students would be at their classes now or preparing for the next event.

"I wasn’t even told what the next event might be, so what are those higher-ups expecting me to do?" As he ignited the letter in his hands to destroy any evidence.

"Ah fuck it, I’m just going to spy on Syno classes; maybe he is also part of the event," he whispered to himself, already jumping up one of the buildings nearby.

"What classes would he have again now?" As he tried to remember his study plan hanging on the wall.

"Probably something in the east block." He would just get there and search for his mana anyway.

And if that didn’t work, he would just follow him the next day to the place.

Jumping to the next house, he slowly made his way towards the university.

But before he could even enter it, he felt a presence standing at the main gate, waiting for something or someone.

Seeing Elizabeth standing outside, Steven was already about to turn around and leave, as Flash stepped beside him, deactivating his wristband.

"Mr. Bright, how nice of you to grace us with your presence." She had been able to sense him due to their connection from the pact they had made.

"Ms. Trellen, shouldn’t you be out teaching some students? I think you should have a basic magic class at the moment," as he stepped back from her.

But she caught up quickly, grabbing his shoulder. "You’re right, Mr. Bright, but it seemed like there was a student missing from my class," as she pulled on his sweater.

"What even are those clothes? You’re still a student of the most prestigious university there is; you should dress yourself accordingly," she scolded him, but Steven only stared past her.

Trying to sense Syno’s mana. "Are you even listening to me?" She shook him heavily, breaking his concentration and hindering him from finding Syno.

’’Huh? ’’ he asked, finally sparing her a glance. As her face only grew redder with her increasing rage.

She wanted to scold him even more, but he stopped her with a simple command from his mind.

Checking the surroundings for any marks of the fingers or even a single person close by, he found nothing.

"What’s the new school event about?" he asked as Elizabeth seemed to change her behavior completely back to the demoness she was.

’’It’s going to be on an island not too far off the west coast. ’’ she answered flatly, her red eyes staring directly into his soul.

Any other info for me? ’’ he added, already walking past her.

"Professor Alem is hosting it; I don’t have much information either,’’ as she gave him an apologetic glance.

’’Alem? You know where the class is at the moment?’’ While already having walked through the main door.

"West Wing, second floor. Elizabeth answered, not daring to stop him as long as he commanded otherwise.

Having heard everything he needed Steven allowed Elizabeth to move again as her facade of a strict teacher was quickly restored.

Tapping on his wristband, he once again turned invisible, walking through the corridors towards Alem’s class.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth turned around, returning back to her class as if nothing had happened.
