Steven could only watch as his classmates moved around inside the broken church, seemingly fighting against the air.

Until Lumiel and Lucy suddenly prepared multiple high-grade spells, just that they were both aiming against the same target.

Merency stood in the middle of the church staring at the Calostie, as she seemed to be trapped in a trance staring at the golden eye.

With Calostie unable to cast offensive magic, she could only attack everyone’s minds, so Steven had already been wondering why she didn’t flee or try to take a vessel yet.

Because Lumiel and Lucy were both aiming at Merency, ready to kill her. Both are probably under a mind hex imagining something completely different happening.

He wanted to step forward; he wanted to stop their attacks and free them from the spell and fight beside them against the fourth finger.

But the mission was the number one priority; not daring to look at it happening, he was just about to turn away as both a powerful lightning and a razor-sharp wind blade flew towards the stunned girl.

But before the attacks could land on her, a wave of light shot forward, hitting Merency in the back and sending her flying.

As Edward stood on one of the pillars still standing, holding a small ring in his hand, next to him sat June panting heavily.

"Oh, Mr. Eden, may I ask why you aren’t trapped like the rest of them?" She genuinely sounded interested, moving for the first time in a while as she stepped towards him.

But Edward didn’t answer her, shooting another wave of light arrows this time towards her.

But none of them hit their target, as Edwards’ hand was shaking too heavily to properly aim.

’’Might it be the little ring you got there? I thought I destroyed that just a moment ago. ’’As she flashed, stepped in front of him as she tried to grab the ring.

But Edward reacted quickly, pulling his hand back, throwing a dozen light needles from his other hand, and finally hitting a target.

As she stuck to Calostie’s body, leaving no lethal wound, neither did she seem to even care about the wound at all.

"Quick hands, you got there... But not quick enough." As she raised her hand in a slashing movement ready to cut him in half, before she could, a loud bang echoed through the air.

As a fist-sized whole appeared through Calostie’s arm, June had pulled another magic gun from her pockets.

Calostie didn’t scream or pull back, only changed her gaze to June as the three of them stood on the pillar. ’’So it was you that restored it; how interesting that little talent of yours is.’’

’’Move June, I will hold her just as planned.’’ Edward spoke, sending the absent-minded Calostie flying with a kick.

As June jumped down from the pillar, hurrying towards Merency with surprising speed.

Calostie simply stepped on the air, standing her momentum as her face turned serious.

Even Steven could feel it; the small devices filled with mana June was carrying were three more rings.

Calostie raised her hand as if she were about to attack, but once again nothing happened. As she seemed to remember her condition, her body seemed to be pulled by a string towards June.

But before she could reach the girl, a giant spear of light pierced her body, sending her off track and crashing to the ground.

Edward was already flying towards her, but Calostie recovered quicker than expected, grabbing him by his throat mid-flight. "Well, you had enough fun; playtime is over now."

As she tried to snap his neck but was once again hindered, this time by her own hand melting away, as a dark liquid started dropping to the ground.

June had reached her target, having placed the ring on Merencys hand and freed her from the mind hex, as he could feel their hope rising.

But Steven knew they were still damned; after all, the Merency that had returned was the normal one, and not her much stronger other side.

If it weren’t for the complete absence of any protection on Calostie’s body, the flame wouldn’t even have singed her hair.

As her golden eye darted towards Merency with annoyance, ’’I said you all can go die. ’’ She spoke as Lucy and Lumiel turned around from their position, staring directly at June.

While they sent a wave of attacks towards the group, Edward barely managed to gain the slightest distance, breathing heavily as he moved his hand to his own throat, seemingly searching for any injuries.

As Calostie suddenly turned her head towards the distance, her gaze unreadable.

Steven could feel it too; there were students, probably one of the groups that fled in their fight.

And they were approaching all of them, probably having heard the commotion.

As a giant smile appeared on Calostie’s lips, she casually returned her gaze back to the diamond students who were in a busy fight with their comrades.

The group of students didn’t take long to arrive; it was only a sapphire of students and some lower grades.

Steven tried to warn them in any way possible, but he was very limited, not being allowed to leave the hut, so they still approached them.

’’What’s going on over here? Is everyone ok?’’ The sapphire student spoke, staring at the destruction ahead.

’’Run! Get out of here," Edward yelled instantly, still engaged in combat with Lumiel.

But it was already too late.

Calostie had moved, standing in front of the group.

’’Who are you? I don’t think you’re from out cla...’’ The student tried to speak.

But he couldn’t anymore, as his body reformed itself.

Being pulled longer and longer until it broke.

His body had been split in two, without Calostie even moving a finger.

’’How nice of you all to come to the party.’’

As suddenly Calostie’s body twitched once.

Her second golden eye was finally appearing, bleeding heavily.

’’Was about time,’’ Steven whispered to himself.
