Chapter 906 - 905: Maybe It’s Because I’ve Spent Too Much Time With You

  • Next Chapter

Young people love excitement and adventure; the survival challenge on a deserted island is right up their alley, and Li Yang looks eager to give it a try.

It’s as if getting it right would actually earn them an extra season.

Shi Yuhuai doesn’t pay attention; he has no desire to live like Robinson on a barren land.

"Brother Cheng, what do you think?"

Cheng Zhirang retracts his gaze and says, "Judging by the audience’s preference, if you can highlight standout segments from each type, everyone will enjoy every episode. But if it’s left to their own imagination... probably the escape room, mystery solving, and survival challenge would be a bit more popular. Escape room then."

Li Yang: "True, in thrillers, the audience probably likes to see us scream. Let’s pick A, quickly, before someone else does. Brother Huai, shout out our answer."

Shi Yuhuai rolls his eyes and apathetically shouts, "Doesn’t Brother Cheng have priority? Whatever, A! We choose A!"

On the other side, Guan Yu and Shu Ran finally ceasefire, abandoning A and opting for Mu Qiu’s suggestion of paranormal mystery.

The director announces the answer, and it’s somewhat unexpected.

"The audience-voted answer is F, Transformation Plan."

Shu Ran immediately says, "Ah! I told you we should have picked this!"

Guan Yu: "What’s the point of saying it now? You should have stuck to your choice earlier."

To say Shi Yuhuai influenced Shu Ran is not entirely true; Guan Yu was influenced too. Lately, the "Teaist Master" has transformed from Shi Yuhuai to Guan Yu, always quick to start a spat with Shu Ran in just a few words.

Mu Qiu hurriedly appeases the two fighting cocks: "Even though we got it wrong, Brother Cheng’s team did too! And if you guys are good, maybe someone can stay on the boat without getting wet."

The two reluctantly ceasefire again.

"Makes sense, let’s topple Brother Huai first."

Shi Yuhuai hears it all clearly from the side: "..."

He just doesn’t get it, why must they chase him to ’kill’? He wasn’t the only one who tricked them!

Cheng Zhirang reminds him from behind, "Be careful."

He then steps back a bit, coincidentally allowing Li Yang to move forward, leaving a large space in the middle.

This space is enough for the three on the opposite side to kick, surely they won’t harm the innocent.

Their antics are amusing, Guan Yu immediately catches on, continuously nodding while tightening the ropes, bringing their swan boats closer.

Until the two inflatable boats collide.

"This time, no feet, only hands, what do you say?" Guan Yu complements an extra rule before the battle.

Li Yang agrees first: "Very well, that way I’m not afraid of your Foshan Shadowless Kick flipping us over. Come on, just use hands!"

The three, Mu Qiu, Shu Ran, and Guan Yu, exchange a glance and suddenly pounce.

Mu Qiu and Shu Ran position themselves at each end, each pushing a person, with two hands on Shi Yuhuai, while Guan Yu specifically targets Shi Yuhuai, using weight dominance paired with side thrusts, causing Shi Yuhuai to plunge into the water before uttering a word, while Li Yang and Cheng Zhirang also get pulled into the water using a mutual destruction method.

A large splash ensues, hands and feet in turmoil indistinguishable.

Moments later Mu Qiu is the first to emerge, gasping for the swan boat and pushing away from the chaos.

Whom she kicked underwater is unclear, but with that momentum, she swims quite a distance.

Upon reaching a safer spot nearby, she struggles to climb onto the inflatable boat.

Thinking, others are just flailing about, unaware they can reboard the ship, since the director hasn’t prohibited getting back on after falling off.

She gleefully contemplates, but as soon as she climbs, a hand from below grabs her leg and pulls down.

Completely unguarded, the lightweight inflatable boat offers no support, and with a pull, she is dragged into the water, facing a surprised Cheng Zhirang.

"...Why are you pulling me?!"

Cheng Zhirang pushes her boat away, still speaking gently, "Didn’t you feel it when you stepped on me earlier?"

"...It was you? I thought I stepped on someone else hahaha, oh, um, can I say sorry? I just want to get on the boat, no other demands, please don’t make it hard for me."

Cheng Zhirang considers for two seconds: "Fine."

He stretches his long arms and retrieves the drifting inflatable boat, considerately aiding her climb.

"Climb up."

Mu Qiu glances at him, then at the ongoing fight in the water, and finally back at him.

His gentle smile always gives her an eerie feeling.

Yet, she climbs up, stepping on his leg for leverage, sliding aboard like a seal, lying stable on the boat.

"Stay stable," Cheng Zhirang says, lifting the rope below the boat, pulling them forward.

Mu Qiu lies on it, moving along.

"Hey hey hey, Brother Cheng, what are you doing?! I don’t want to go over there!"

"But I have the rope now, I want to go that way unless you jump off."

"...I knew it; no good deed comes without condition."

She lies pancaked, staring at Cheng Zhirang’s chin.

"You’ve changed, Brother Cheng."

"Everyone says so, maybe it’s from spending time with you."

"..."

She says nothing, climbing onto his back!

Both tumble into the water. Now it’s complete; all six engage in a genuine brawl.

The final outcome is obvious; nobody remains on the inflatable boat, with all six lying breathless along the pool’s edge.

Sinking too often, soaked for too long, the skin is wrinkled.

Guan Yu weakly asks the director, "How much longer? I’ll dissolve in this pool."

The director lifts his worn-out megaphone: "Just one last question."

"Finally, the last question."

With lifeguards’ help, they each climb into inflatable boats, awaiting the final question before they can disembark.

"The ninth question, also the last: If the show has a second season but requires substituting the fixed MC lineup, who do you think is most likely to be kept?"

A: Guan Yu

B: Cheng Zhirang

C: Shi Yuhuai

D: Mu Qiu

E: Li Yang

F: Shu Ran

G: Original lineup

"Original lineup!"

"Yes! Original lineup!"

"We are a team! If we can make our own choice, all should stay! It’s hard-earned familiarity!"

"Original lineup! Director, will there be a second season? I’m willing to lower my salary!"

The director smiles broadly: "Not sure yet. But for now, choose the answer. Which one do you think the audience would most likely pick? Your answers cannot repeat."

Guan Yu firmly asserts: "Original lineup!"

Li Yang: "We want to choose original lineup too! Why can’t this question have the same answer?!"

If they must choose, wouldn’t those not picked feel awkward?

"If there’s indeed a second season, and someone must be replaced, I think the audience would most want to keep Guan Yu."

Cheng Zhirang quietly comments from the back of the inflatable boat.
