I Write Novels in a Zerg Prison
Chapter 312: Reader Comments and the Medicine: Not a single moment of silence for the partner whose Male Zerg took contraceptives for ten years
[Lord Sha————mir? It really is Lord Shamir?! I don't believe it! His Lordship would never retire from the entertainment industry like the synopsis says!]
[Is that really the important part?] The Tianjia readers were very confused.
[You don't care about his financial backer and that contract, but instead you're worried about whether he's retiring?]
[Both are important! But his retirement affects us more! How am I supposed to live if I can't see His Lordship anymore (wailing)!]
[It's perfectly normal for a Male Zerg to have various financial backers supporting him, but this "financial backer" has gone way too far! He actually demanded that Lord Shamir come whenever summoned! He even called His Lordship away in the middle of filming to service him, and wouldn't even let His Lordship stay overnight! Is there something wrong with his brain?!!]
[Dox him! Dox him! Challenge him offline!]
[Ahem, do you even need to dox this one? Ravens, the Zerg race's largest arms supplier, an absolute military-industrial giant. His business covers mechs, starships, energy weapons, military electronic systems, spatial transmission systems, and more, and he's deeply tied to the military. Many of the weapons used by the military were developed and manufactured by companies under his name. The name Ravens itself is the biggest brand in the military industry.]
[Challenge him offline... You might need to bring an entire arsenal with you. No, one arsenal isn't enough. Better bring an entire army group.]
[Damn it! Are we just supposed to let him throw his weight around however he wants? I refuse to believe he controls everything! If all of Lord Shamir's fans go together, we vastly outnumber an army group! We have to rescue His Lordship from the "evil dragon"!]
[Wait, before you do anything, shouldn't you first check whether His Lordship actually needs rescuing? This is a cooperative relationship Lord Shamir himself acknowledges, and His Lordship takes his contractual obligations very seriously. He also thinks Ravens is handsome, has a pleasant voice, and is very charming... He obviously has a pretty favorable impression of Ravens.]
[His Lordship clearly said Ravens was awful! (Excerpt from the original text: How awful of you, Mr. Ravens.)]
[How many times have we told you to stop scribbling everything down in that stupid notebook of yours? All you do is memorize things by rote without understanding what they mean. You read all eight of An-shen's previous novels for nothing. You're definitely going to fail your "An-shen Studies" proficiency exam.]
[(Horrified) How did you know I got 4 points on my last exam?]
[Getting 4 points on an exam graded out of 100? You're beyond saving. Even a Tianjia would score higher than you. Hurry up and buy a Psychic Soothing device for your home once the prices come down. Also, if you want a hatchling, you can apply at a welfare institution ahead of time and get in line. As for a Male Zerg, don't even dream about it. You won't have any hope in this lifetime.]
[Tianjia: ?]
The Tianjia, who had inexplicably been dragged out for comparison, cursed the Zerg race while searching for what the hell this exam was about, downloaded a copy, and tried answering it themselves.
The result was that an entire group of Tianjia scored in the single digits, with only a fortunate few managing more than 20 points.
The Tianjia, competitive maniacs who were even more obsessed with outdoing one another than the Zergs, fell silent. They had never received such low scores in their lives. Thus, while questioning both the questions and the official answers, they stayed up all night studying and declared war on the exam from then on.
[Hah, you think An-shen Studies is something an ordinary Zerg can master? Give this exam to Ravens and he'd score 0 too!]
Most Zergs agreed with that statement.
[When His Lordship was getting ready to sleep, Ravens was staring at a screen on the sofa. When His Lordship had finished sleeping with him, moved to the other bed, and lay there waiting, Ravens tidied up the original bed and went to sleep there instead. Anything above 0 points would be unjustifiable.]
But some Zergs thought Ravens was already operating at a very high level.
At least they couldn't play the pipe organ for a Male Zerg, arrange a dining table with such a romantic atmosphere, and even get the bedroom lighting just right.
[You mean playing the instrument so badly that the Male Zerg had to provide him with emotional gratification?
I won't deny that his pipe-organ performance was extremely high-level, and his peacock display couldn't have been more obvious————who randomly decides to play neither earlier nor later, but precisely when a Male Zerg is coming over? And the piece even sounded so much like the theme song from His Lordship's movie. Even a paramecium wouldn't believe that Female Zerg had no ulterior motives.
The problem is that His Lordship didn't notice anything at all and even had to stand there waiting for ages. That makes the entire peacock display ineffective.]
[It wasn't completely ineffective. Even like that, His Lordship still thought he was very charming.]
The moment those words appeared, every Zerg fell silent.
It was hard to say whether Ravens was fortunate or unfortunate.
Of course he was fortunate. He had obtained ten years of contractual service from Lord Shamir. Even those of them who wanted to avenge Lord Shamir and teach Ravens a lesson had to worry about whether doing so might displease His Lordship.
[Even so, there's no reason for Lord Shamir to retire from the entertainment industry. No matter how powerful Ravens is, he can't cover the entire sky with one hand! Once the ten-year contract ends, even without Ravens, there will still be countless Zergs willing to become Lord Shamir's financial backers and supporters.]
[Exactly exactly exactly! As long as Lord Shamir is willing, there are tons of Zergs willing to invest in him!]
[Please stay, Male Lord! We can't live without our baby, darling, sweetheart, Shamir, Male Lord, master...]
[You have way too many pet names! There isn't enough room here for all of you.]
[A novel is just a novel, everyone. Don't take it seriously. Lord Shamir isn't going to retire. He's a career-driven celebrity. He was still participating in filming just a few days ago, so how could he possibly retire?]
[Every time An-shen publishes a book, someone says we should distinguish fiction from reality. I'm sick of hearing it. Every single time I think An-shen is writing science fiction, it eventually turns out to be realism.]
[This time really is different! How could a Male Zerg possibly take contraceptives in reality? Especially for a reason like this. Completely impossible!]
[Right! This plot point from An-shen is such a huge bug. I have no idea how An-shen even thought of it.]
[A Zerg can't write something he's never seen before, so...]
[Hiss———— You mean...]
[An-shen definitely read some information about the Tianjia. It's all the Tianjia's fault! They actually make males take medicine! They even frightened An-shen!]
[I knew it! Damn those wicked Tianjia!]
As the readers discussed it, the direction of the conversation abruptly shifted, and they unanimously began denouncing the Tianjia.
A Male Zerg taking medicine was simply too rare. They couldn't even imagine something like that happening among the Zerg race, so obviously it had to be the Tianjia's fault.
The Tianjia were made the scapegoats yet again. The accusation came so suddenly that they were stunned for a moment and instinctively reflected on whether An-shen really had written this because of them. Then they came back to their senses.
They hadn't done anything wrong either!
They immediately refused to concede and began arguing their case against the Zergs.
StarNet descended into complete chaos because of the first chapter of the new novel.
As usual, Ulysses finished reading the latest content. Seeing the name of a familiar Zerg only surprised him slightly, and he didn't pay much attention to it. Instead, when he reached the words "contraceptive medicine," his gaze sharpened slightly. After seeing the discussion in the comments section, he even looked away with a trace of guilty conscience.
Ulysses quickly closed the book, determination filling his eyes.
Not a single moment of silence for the partner whose Male Zerg took contraceptives for ten years. He needed to immediately rush to his god's side, trick his god into handing over that bottle of medicine in his spatial storage device, and destroy it.
Ever since leaving the Military Region Prison, An hadn't taken that medicine again. But simply knowing that the bottle was still in the male's possession left Ulysses uneasy.
Something like that was better destroyed as soon as possible.
Even if there truly was a need for it, and the male wanted to punish him, Ulysses could take medicine himself instead of making the male take something like that.
Getting the medicine wasn't difficult. An had promised to give him hatchlings, and they were already married. Ulysses employed a few physical techniques, along with a little verbal guidance, coaxing and tricking him until he quickly got the medicine into his hands.
The hand gripping the medicine bottle quietly tightened.
The bottle and everything inside it were annihilated into powder on the spot.
Ulysses activated his spatial ability and teleported the incriminating evidence into the farthest reaches of space, throwing it into a star, where it was instantly destroyed by the surging heat waves of distorted space.
Everything happened in the blink of an eye. By the time An Ruo sensed the spatial fluctuation and looked toward him, Ulysses was already smiling as he leaned in to kiss him.
An Ruo was puzzled, but he had no energy to investigate anything at a time like this. His thoughts quickly scattered, and before long, he couldn't remember anything at all.
