“No, these aren’t...”

Ulysses wanted to say they were not “instruments of punishment,” but that explanation was obviously useless. Besides, he really had prepared these things with the intention of having An Ruo use them to punish him, so it was difficult to say whether they had anything to do with instruments of punishment or not.

In the end, Ulysses could only tell him the truth:

“These are meant to be used on me. I prepared them for myself.”

Ulysses did not want An Ruo to be afraid of him. No Female Zerg could accept being feared by his own Male Lord.

He had seen the timidity in An Ruo’s eyes when he mentioned those things. It struck him like a fatal blow. He would rather confess the truth to An Ruo now, even if it left a bad impression, than be regarded as some perverted Female Zerg who wanted to torture a male.

Afraid An Ruo would not believe him, he even deliberately brought An Ruo back into the room and opened the cabinets, showing him everything inside to prove that he was telling the truth.

An Ruo had originally been surprised and confused when Ulysses said the things were prepared for himself. Then he saw the contents of each cabinet fully revealed before him.

Every cabinet held something different. There were the whips, steel needles, metal chains, handcuffs, ropes, and small metal objects tipped with sharp needles that he had accidentally seen before, as well as the contents he had not dared open the cabinets to inspect.

Among them were Ulysses’s wide assortment of tails.

At the sight of those familiar and unfamiliar tails, An Ruo’s face grew hot, and he finally believed Ulysses completely.

If Ulysses had intended to punish him, there would have been no reason to bring all these tails here too.

So, just as Ulysses had said, these were things he wanted to enjoy himself.

An Ruo looked at the mirror covering an entire wall, then at the heavy metal chair positioned directly opposite it, and finally at the large bed.

He began to understand something, and the heat in his face rose even higher.

At the same time, however, he was utterly confused. He unconsciously bit his lower lip slightly, his gaze flickering conflictedly as he looked at Ulysses. There was something he desperately wanted to ask, yet he could not bring himself to say it.

If Ulysses wanted to play with these things, An Ruo could understand and respect that. Even if there were some things he could not quite understand, he would still respect it.

But!

Why did he have to put all this stuff in An Ruo’s little black room for writing!?

It was seriously distracting!!!

Heavens knew what kind of raging storm went through an author’s heart when he was trying to settle down and write, only to see things like these!

When An Ruo first came into the room, he had even planned to decorate it a little. He wanted to project the protagonist portraits he had brought back from the prison wall onto the wall again, displaying them directly in front of his desk.

But just after putting them up, while he was arranging the room, setting out flowers and books, he opened a cabinet to put away the extra books—

And saw something that shattered his worldview.

There had been no warning.

It was far too sudden.

He had been completely psychologically unprepared.

At that moment, An Ruo felt as though his brain had been plowed through.

Silently, he closed the cabinet door.

Then he opened it again.

Nothing before his eyes had changed, proving that it had not been a hallucination.

An Ruo checked several cabinets one after another.

After that, he no longer dared look.

He respectfully kept his distance from all the remaining cabinets.

Every cabinet was stuffed full. There was not even any room for his books.

Nor did he dare put his books among those things.

The difference in style was simply too great. They did not belong together at all.

Afterward, An Ruo silently closed every cabinet door and pretended nothing had happened. He even guiltily took down the protagonist portraits he had put on the wall.

Because this room was simply too strange.

With all those pairs of eyes belonging to the “protagonists” staring at him from the wall, An Ruo felt particularly guilty.

It always felt as though everything was being watched—and watched by a great many Zergs at that.

They could see the things inside the cabinets.

They could see him.

Perhaps they might even see him and Ulysses together.

An Ruo could not calmly withstand that kind of psychological pressure, so he could only take down the portraits and put them away.

An Ruo wanted to discuss moving all these things to another room with Ulysses.

But immediately afterward, he decided it would probably be better to move his writing room instead.

A hidden underground location like this really was more suitable for these things. His requirements for a writing environment were not nearly so demanding. They could simply clear out any empty room upstairs for him.

Ulysses observed his expression and tentatively suggested,

“Then, shall I put these things away?”

By “put them away,” he actually meant move them out and destroy them.

However, before they were taken away, Ulysses still hoped An Ruo would use them to teach him a harsh lesson and punish him for acting on his own initiative.

It was the punishment he deserved.

Having An Ruo personally punish him to soothe the fear An Ruo had experienced upon seeing these things was an equivalent exchange any military Female Zerg could accept.

Deep down, Ulysses felt that only after he himself had been punished, allowing An Ruo to vent the resentment pent up in his heart, could this matter truly be put behind them.

An Ruo shook his head, rejecting Ulysses’s proposal to put everything away.

Since these were things Ulysses liked, then...

He hesitantly said, “Just leave them here. When you want to use them, you can, uh... use them.”

An Ruo truly could not get the rest of the words out.

Even knowing that Zergs all had somewhat... particular tendencies, he still found it extremely difficult to associate these things with Ulysses.

Ulysses had once suffered abuse. He hated these things more than any other Zerg. If a Male Zerg dared pick up a whip in front of Ulysses, An Ruo thought Ulysses should coldly snap that Male Zerg’s neck.

But An Ruo also knew that Zergs were complicated.

He could not simply use his own experiences and understanding to infer what a living, breathing Zerg standing before him was thinking.

So when Ulysses proposed that An Ruo use these things on him, An Ruo hesitated before taking out one of the familiar tails.

He truly did not dare use anything else.

He could not even identify most of the objects. Just looking at them made him feel terrified.

Those pretty little ornaments seemed relatively harmless, but they were fitted with sharp metal needles.

An Ruo looked at Ulysses’s ears.

He did not have pierced ears, so they could not be worn there.

Some of the ornaments were also connected by beautiful, delicate chains and looked extremely exquisite.

An Ruo imagined what they might look like worn on the ears and somehow felt that they did not quite fit.

Perhaps they were not meant to be worn on the ears...

He instinctively refused to think any further.

There were also those long metal rods. One end was likewise decorated with beautiful gemstones, while the tips were not particularly sharp.

It was merely their length that made him uneasy.

Under Ulysses’s gaze, An Ruo appeared to calmly select an implement, while in reality, he had absolutely no idea what to choose.

To make himself appear a little more composed and experienced, he picked up a transparent rod that seemed to be made of crystal.

Since it was transparent, it looked prettier and more harmless. Even the small ridges along its surface looked more like decorations than anything else.

Holding it in his hand, An Ruo thought it resembled a magic wand.

Pretending to remain calm, he asked, “How do you use this?”

Ulysses stood behind him, extremely close. Hearing the question, he raised his eyes to glance at the object in An Ruo’s hand, then lowered his gaze and explained,

“You insert it directly from the front. It can be used to block a Female Zerg’s pheromone fluid. A Female Zerg only has the right to release pheromones after receiving his Male Lord’s permission.”

An Ruo’s mind went blank for an instant.

Only belatedly did he realize what Ulysses meant.

He stiffly looked at the seemingly harmless crystal rod in his hand, then instinctively turned his head to look at Ulysses.

His clothes naturally concealed everything, so An Ruo could not actually see anything.

Unfortunately, an author’s powers of imagination chose precisely the moment when they were least needed to come into full effect.

An Ruo closed his eyes in despair.

At last, he understood why this thing had been made so long, like a magic wand used to cast spells, while simultaneously being slender and delicate, with a diameter that was just right.

He would never be able to look at magic wands the same way again.

Ulysses interpreted An Ruo’s stare as an instruction and assumed he wanted Ulysses to put it on himself.

Although he would have preferred his male to put it on him personally, he was currently being punished and had no right to make requests.

So he obediently reached out to take the crystal rod from An Ruo’s hand, preparing to do it himself.

It did not move.

The person holding the other end tightened his grip slightly, silently tugging against him as though he had changed his mind and refused to hand it over.

Ulysses looked up in confusion and asked,

“Male Lord?”

An Ruo faced a difficult choice.

On one side was Ulysses asking for it.

On the other was his own conscience fighting furiously with itself.

In the end, he said,

“I need to think about it some more.”

At his words, Ulysses released his grip.

He could also see An Ruo’s hesitation.

The sacred and beautiful male looked breathtakingly gorgeous with his brows slightly furrowed, beautiful enough to make a Zerg’s heart itch and make Ulysses want to push things further.

“What are you worried about?”

Ulysses asked softly.

He pressed himself against An Ruo’s back, wrapped his arms around his waist, and brought his lips closer to the shell of his ear before slowly saying,

“Are you worried about my body? Surely you don’t think such a tiny thing could hurt an SSS-rank Female Zerg?”

There was even a hint of provocation in those words.

As he spoke, his voice brushed past An Ruo’s ear, sounding almost like flirtation and coaxing.

An Ruo silently put the crystal rod back.

Then he selected another one with a chain attached.

He was not someone who was easily provoked, but Ulysses always managed to stir his emotions.

Or perhaps it was not merely his emotions.

Holding several objects he had selected, An Ruo slowly glanced back. His green eyes calmly settled on Ulysses as he ordered,

“Go sit properly in the chair. You know how to use it.”

Ulysses’s Adam’s apple moved.

Of course he knew how to use that punishment chair.

He could also guess what he was about to face.

Instinctively, he felt nervous, but there was no fear.

He trusted his god.

He believed his god would never hurt him.

At the same time, he wanted to know how far his god would go with him.

Would his god, with complete control over him in this dark underground punishment room, let everything spiral out of control and reveal a cruel side?

Darkness and control often drew out the evil desires hidden within a Zerg’s heart.

Then what evil desires did his god harbor toward him?

Even Ulysses, faced with this situation, felt some uncertainty about what was about to happen.

He was not completely confident either.

His silver eyes watched as the god pushed the crystal needle all the way in, sealing his pheromones.

Yet he felt his pheromones surging even more violently, while even the slightest touch of fingertips seemed magnified countless times.

An Ruo’s hand caressed his face, gently asking him something, but Ulysses’s mind was already becoming hazy.

He looked at the god gazing down at him with tender affection, and for one fleeting moment, he thought that he could accept a little more pain.

But the god had never brought him pain or harm.

He bestowed upon him boundless love and protection, granting him the utmost joy and tenderness.

And so Ulysses willingly entrusted himself completely to him, surrendering himself wholly to his god’s control.
