I Transmigrated as a Villainess to Raise Babies, and My Beast Husbands Are Fighting Madly Over Me!
Chapter 550: A Problem with the Positioning
“I don’t want Xixi to walk into danger, but if she insists on going, we can only do everything in our power to protect her.”
Xijing gave a quiet murmur, acknowledging Jin Ling’s sentiment.
Night fell, and darkness gradually enveloped the sky above the tribe.
The cubs, who were sitting around the table eating, began to put down their bowls one by one.
“Father, we’re full.”
Sangqi wiped his mouth, then scooped up the little tiger cub, whose face was greasy from her meal. He carefully wiped the mess from her face with a soft piece of hide.
Sangze put down his bowl. “Go on and play for a bit. You can get a bath and go to sleep later.”
“Okay.”
By the time Feiyan emerged from the kitchen carrying another pot of meat broth, the cubs had all left the table.
“Why’s everyone gone? They haven’t even had the fish-beast broth I made.”
Sunxiao shot him a cold glance. “You drink it.”
“What’s with that look, you overgrown snake? You have no idea how much my cooking has improved.”
Sunxiao ignored him, leaving the table and heading straight upstairs.
Sangze also put down his bowl and stood up.
Feiyan was indignant. “Sangze, you’re not going to have any either?”
Sangze gave a helpless smile. He was about to speak, but the smile in his eyes soured into disdain. “I’d like to live a few more years.”
“You damn leopard, you just don’t know a good thing when you see it! Fine, if you won’t eat, I’ll eat it all myself!”
Sangze leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes, opening the map locator with his consciousness. It was the only way he could soothe his longing for Qiao Xixi.
But when he saw Qiao Xixi’s location marker, he shot bolt upright.
Feiyan was holding his bowl and drinking the broth. He took one mouthful, and the bizarre flavor was so overpowering he almost spat it out.
But when he saw Sangze’s eyes snap open as he sat bolt upright, Feiyan forced himself to swallow the broth back down. ‘I can’t let that damn leopard look down on me!’
“What’s the matter? Having second thoughts? Decided you want some of my fish-beast broth after all?”
“Why is Xixi’s locator showing her near Elephant Beast City?”
“What?”
Feiyan froze.
“See for yourself.”
Feiyan immediately put down his bowl and checked the locator. Sure enough, Qiao Xixi’s marker was showing her heading toward Elephant Beast City.
“Why would Xixi have gone all the way over there?”
Sunxiao came rushing down the stairs. Sangze looked up at his cold, grim expression. ‘He must have discovered the problem, too.’
“Why would Xixi be all the way over in Elephant Beast City by herself? Jin Ling and Xijing are still in Tiger Beast City.”
Feiyan’s expression faltered. “Could… could Xixi have been abducted?”
At this suggestion, the faces of all three males darkened.
Sunxiao’s crimson, serpentine eyes narrowed. “Elephant Beast City is filled with vicious beasts. Xixi is in grave danger.”
A cold, dangerous glint shone in Sangze’s mismatched eyes.
“Many of the Demon Beasts in the Hopeless Abyss fled from Elephant Beast City.”
A place that even Demon Beasts couldn’t tolerate… one could only imagine how dangerous and hostile it truly was.
Sunxiao looked to Feiyan. “Feiyan, gather a few of the strongest Wing Clan males. I’m going after Xixi.”
Feiyan nodded. “Right.”
After Feiyan left, Sangze looked at Sunxiao. “Snake, I’m going with you.”
Sunxiao didn’t refuse. If Xixi was truly in danger in Elephant Beast City, an extra person meant extra help.
Meanwhile, Qiao Xixi, still in Tiger Beast City, was completely unaware of all this.
She had only intended to lie down and rest her eyes, but she’d unexpectedly fallen fast asleep.
When she woke up, the sky outside was pitch-black.
She sat up in bed and could faintly hear the voices of Jin Ling and Xijing talking outside her door.
Just as Qiao Xixi was about to get out of bed, Xiao Yao’s startled cry suddenly echoed in her mind.
“Huh? Wait! What?! How is this possible!?”
The voice startled Qiao Xixi. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”
“This is strange, Host. Your location has changed.”
“What?” Confused, Qiao Xixi opened the locator and saw that her position was nowhere near Jin Ling and the others. The system had placed her all the way in Elephant Beast City.
“What’s going on?”
“A little while ago, I detected some abnormal fluctuations and started running a self-diagnostic to see if there was a problem with the system. I didn’t find anything then. It was only just now that I noticed your location was off, Host.”
“Why would the locator be wrong? I’m obviously in Tiger Beast City right now.”
“Don’t worry, Host. I’m investigating to find out what went wrong.”
“Can’t you just manually set my location to the correct one?”
“I can’t do that. It’s an automatic system location; it can’t be changed manually.”
Qiao Xixi frowned with worry. Her being here was fine, but her main concern was what would happen if Feiyan and the others saw her location marker showing her alone in Elephant Beast City. ‘They’ll think I’m in danger and rush over there themselves!’
The more she thought about it, the more likely it seemed.
“Xiao Yao, quickly, give me a Message Card.”
“Host, they’re available in the store. You can redeem one yourself, you know.”
“My location is messed up because of your mistake. Shouldn’t you be the one to take responsibility for this?”
“Er… well… I…”
“Hurry up. Stop talking nonsense and give me a card.”
“Host, I really don’t have the authority to give them away for free… How about this? I’ll use my privileges to request a discount for you. I can get it for you cheap, okay? It’s the best I can do. 100 points. How about it?”
Qiao Xixi couldn’t be bothered to argue with it. 100 points was better than 1,000, so she quickly redeemed the points for a Message Card.
“Feiyan, there’s a problem with the system’s locator. I’m still in Tiger Beast City with Jin Ling and the others. I’m not in any danger, so don’t you guys worry.”
Qiao Xixi placed the Message Card onto Feiyan’s dot on the locator map, and it instantly vanished.
Feiyan was anxiously trying to coax the cubs into their rooms to sleep. He was standing on the veranda when a notification pinged in his mind, and his eyes lit up.
It was the same sound he’d heard the last time Xixi sent him a message. He quickly opened the locator to listen.
After listening to the message, a look of astonishment crossed his face.
“Xixi’s still in Tiger Beast City! She didn’t go to Elephant Beast City!”
Feiyan snapped back to his senses, turned, and bolted downstairs.
Feili, who had just returned, saw him rushing about and grabbed him with an annoyed look.
“Where are you off to in such a hurry?”
“Xixi didn’t go to Elephant Beast City! She’s still in Tiger Beast City with Jin Ling and the others. But we thought she was heading to Elephant Beast City, so Sunxiao and Sangze went after her because they were worried she was in danger. I have to get someone to chase them down and bring them back!”
Before Feili could even say a word, Feiyan had already run off and disappeared.
Feili frowned. “How does that kid know Xixi’s exact location, anyway?”
In her room, the little tiger cub, who had been sound asleep, suddenly opened her eyes. As if sensing something strange, she sat up, scrambled off the bed on all fours, and climbed onto a wooden stool to reach the window.
She stared with wide, liquid-gold eyes at the brightly lit moon and sparse stars in the night sky.
Suddenly, a cold, austere face flashed across the night sky.
