Wally stood in a mud puddle, his white fur turning filthy.

But he didn’t care, as if the only things in his eyes were the thunder and the rain.

CRACK!

A bright bolt of lightning fell from the sky, striking a massive tree not far away.

The tree snapped in two right down the middle, crashing onto the muddy ground.

Seeing this, Wally let out another howl. Immediately after, blue arcs of electricity emerged from his body.

Raindrops sizzled against the blue arcs on Wally’s body with a CRACKLING sound. Wally was wreathed in azure light amidst the downpour.

The sight made Vili’s heart pound. The scene of Wally manipulating lightning now was far more visually stunning than a Snow Pattern Deer breathing frost.

Lightning snaked across the sky, thunder boomed, and the rain poured down in sheets.

A faint sense of unease crept into Vili’s heart. He hesitated, wondering if he should call Wally inside.

Just as he was thinking this, lightning flashed, and another clap of thunder exploded by his ears.

The next moment, another serpent of lightning broke free from the shackles of the dark clouds, striking down toward the ground, aimed straight for the blue-glowing Wally.

"Come back!"

Lightning strikes the ground in a fraction of a second; Vili had no time to give the command.

The majestic bolt of lightning raged down, merging directly with the electric arcs on Wally’s body.

Then, Wally, struck by the lightning, showed no signs of injury. Instead, he raised his forelimbs, standing supported only by his hind legs. He opened his mouth wide, his teeth seemingly sharpening in an instant. In his eyes, the blue electric light nearly materialized into a solid form.

A furious roar erupted—no longer cute and cuddly, but filled with rage and indignation.

The arcs of electricity on Wally’s body vanished in an instant. A lightning bolt symbol abruptly appeared on his forehead.

The symbol flickered a few times, then faded from view.

SHHHH...

The sound of the rain began to soften, and the thunder and lightning vanished without a trace.

In less than a minute, the rain stopped, and a sliver of light squeezed through the dark clouds.

"This..."

Vili was speechless. It was as if this rain, this thunder, had appeared just for Wally.

Once the rain stopped and the thunder dissipated, Wally shook the water from his fur vigorously, then grinned and ran quickly to Vili’s side, as if nothing had happened.

Vili knelt down and parted the fur on Wally’s brow. Sure enough, a faint blue lightning-shaped mark was hidden underneath.

Wally nipped at Vili’s pant leg with his teeth, as if trying to drag him away.

Vili didn’t understand, but he followed Wally out of the stone cave.

Soon, Vili knew what Wally wanted to do. Wally was ready to hunt.

A lone young buck had just emerged from a rock crevice where it had been sheltering from the rain when Wally swatted it dead with a lightning-wreathed paw. His movements were swift, more than twice as fast as before.

Wally revealed his carnivorous nature, tearing at the young buck’s carcass. His fur, just washed clean by the rain, was once again stained red.

In a little over ten minutes, the young buck, which had been more than twice Wally’s size, was reduced to a mere carcass.

After devouring the young buck, Wally glanced furtively at Vili, then walked into the tall grass to relieve himself.

’Wally’s not just physically much stronger than before, even his digestive system has evolved...’

Vili had already guessed that the lightning bolt from the sky had caused Wally to undergo some kind of transformation.

Judging from the speed, power, and lightning intensity of Wally’s attacks, he felt that the current Wally was probably not far from becoming a Bronze Level Magical Beast. As for himself, he would likely be no match for Wally now.

’Is this really a bear cub that’s not even three months old?’

Vili marveled for a moment.

After Wally’s sudden transformation, Vili lost the desire to venture deeper into Bole Forest. With Wally’s help, the two of them hunted an adult buck, a few mountain tits, and several wild rabbits. They didn’t hunt any more animals because of the weight they had to carry.

By the time Vili and Wally returned home, the sky was already dark, but it was just about dinnertime.

The first person to greet Vili was, naturally, Vilia.

"You brought back so much game!"

Vilia exclaimed in amazement when she saw Vili returning fully laden.

Then, she saw Wally at Vili’s feet and asked in surprise, "Why do you look a little different?"

Vilia stroked Wally’s fur, murmuring to herself, "His fur is whiter, and softer too..."

"It rained today, and he took a shower in the rain, so he got whiter."

Vili was spouting nonsense.

"Impossible. I bathe Wally every few days, and this has never happened."

Vilia retorted.

"That’s because you’re clumsy and don’t wash him properly."

Vili ignored the suspicious-looking Vilia and walked into the house.

When Lake saw Vili, he slapped his head and said, "Oh, right, Vili. A friend of yours named Finlay came to Fandou Village today. He even brought us a lot of gifts."

Then, Lake recounted the day’s events to Vili, including Finlay’s reaction to seeing the Star-Spotted Snow Root.

After listening, Vili glanced at the corner of the room where a pile of gift boxes was stacked. He took a casual look and saw they were all rather valuable items.

"He also said he’d come to Fandou Village with his father next time."

Lake added.

Vili nodded. "It must be about purchasing the Star-Spotted Snow Root."

"Is that stuff really so valuable?"

Lake asked again for confirmation.

"Very valuable."

Vili gave an affirmative reply.

"Come and eat."

Mrs. Shaven brought out the steaming hot food and called Vilia in from outside.

Just as they’d taken their first bite of food, the family suddenly heard the sound of a horse being reined in outside the courtyard.

Immediately after, someone was calling Vili’s name.

"Is that Finlay?"

Lake looked puzzled. It was already evening; this wasn’t an appropriate time for a visit.

Vili put down his utensils and hurried outside. The voice calling his name was very familiar; it had to be Morion.

"Captain Morion."

As soon as he stepped out of the courtyard, Vili saw the grim-faced Morion waiting on horseback.

’Why would Morion come all the way to Fandou Village to find me so late at night?’

"Vili, come back to Diamond Town with me at once!"

As expected, Morion didn’t even waste a moment on pleasantries and stated his purpose directly.

"What happened?"

Vili’s eyes showed his confusion.

Morion took a deep breath and lowered his voice. "Lord Olay... was also assassinated... on his way back."

"My teacher... he was assassinated too?!"

Vili’s face was a mask of shock and disbelief. His mind raced, and he instantly understood the gravity of the situation.

The three most important people in Diamond Town were Baron Kels, his successor Bamos, and Olay, a Knight Level expert and Captain of the Personal Guard Team. Now, two of them had been assassinated! And the ones who were assassinated were Diamond Town’s top combatants.

"Wait for me, I’ll be right there!"

Vili turned and ran back into the house to say goodbye to his family.
