Chapter 154: The Innocent Sea Elf Maiden, Selena
Chapter 154: Chapter 154: The Innocent Sea Elf Maiden, Selena
「Two days later.」
Inside Colson’s small breeding farm.
The chatterbox was squatting next to the chicken coop.
"Move it, you clumsy hen."
Colson waved his hand, roughly shoving the hen aside. He snatched two eggs from underneath it and held them in his hands.
Seeing her eggs stolen, the hen charged fiercely at Colson.
"If you weren’t still useful for laying eggs, I’d have stewed you into a delicious chicken soup by now."
Colson muttered to himself, licking his lips.
He took the two eggs into his room and placed them on the table.
"Come out, new life!"
Even when no one was around, Colson had a habit of chattering away to himself whenever he did something.
A faint green glow slowly appeared on Colson’s hands as he held the eggs.
After a few breaths, a vibrating sound began to come from inside the eggshells in his hands.
Seeing this, Colson relaxed his grip on the eggs slightly, then continued to channel his Ability.
CRACK... CRACK... CRACK...
Soon, the two eggshells shattered, and fluffy chicks poked their heads out.
"Yes! I did it!"
Colson cheered.
Previously, he needed to borrow the Power of Life from other living beings to hatch eggs. But now, Colson could do it just by using the free-roaming Power of Nature in the air.
This was a major breakthrough for his Ability.
’I really am a genius Silent.’
A proud smile spread across Colson’s face. ’Lord Vili will definitely be proud of me!’
Vili had already told Colson about his identity as a Silent.
Because of this, Colson had realized he was different.
’So I’m actually a rare Transcendent!’
’This is wonderful! As long as I keep working hard and improving my Ability, Lord Vili is sure to give me an important position.’
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Suddenly, there was a knock on Colson’s door.
"Who is it?"
Colson looked puzzled.
’The cleaning lady shouldn’t be here yet.’
He walked to the door and opened it.
"Lord Volibear!"
As soon as Colson opened the door, he saw the little white bear, Wally, standing in the doorway.
"Lord Volibear, please, come in."
Colson said respectfully, ushering him in.
Back in Fandou Village, he and Wally had gotten along very well.
Compared to the mindless livestock and poultry, Colson much preferred chatting with Wally.
Wally shook his head and let out a few soft calls.
"Lord Vili wants me at the manor?"
Colson’s Ability as a Silent allowed him to easily understand Wally’s words.
Wally nodded.
Wally was quite satisfied with this guy, Colson.
Aside from Vili and his sister, he was the only one who treated him as an equal living being.
Everyone else just saw him as a Pet Beast, but Colson had taken the initiative to call him Lord Volibear, which pleased Wally immensely.
"Okay, I’ll go right away."
Colson closed his door and left with Wally.
Colson’s breeding farm wasn’t far from Vili’s manor, but on the short walk over, Wally heard more chatter from him than he had in the entire past week.
"Why did you bring me to Lord Vili’s bathroom?"
Just as Colson was looking completely bewildered, Vili opened the door from the inside. "Come in. I want you to meet a guest from the deep sea."
"Huh?"
Colson and Wally entered the bathroom together.
"My god!"
When Colson saw the Sea Elf Maiden bound by ropes in the bathtub, he cried out in astonishment.
’What kind of creature is this!’
’A human body and a fish’s tail!’
Although he had the Ability of a Silent, Colson, who had grown up in a small, inland village, had never seen such a rare species before.
As someone who revered the Power of Nature, Colson was instantly intrigued.
The Sea Elf Maiden was already awake. Looking at Vili and Wally standing to the side, along with an excited-looking land-dweller, she, who had temporarily lost her Extraordinary Power, suddenly felt a surge of panic.
The Sea Elf Maiden struggled for a moment, but couldn’t break free from the ropes.
Without their Extraordinary Power, it seemed the physical strength of a Sea Elf wasn’t very great.
"My translator has arrived. Now we can have a proper talk,"
Vili said to the Sea Elf Maiden.
Vili had originally expected the Sea Elf Maiden to take three to five days to wake up, but he hadn’t thought she would regain consciousness after just two.
In just two short days, the Sea Elf Maiden’s injuries had mostly healed.
Her broken skin had basically healed, and her scales had already grown back.
Vili couldn’t help but feel envious of this incredible healing ability.
As long as the Sea Elf Maiden didn’t suffer a fatal blow, given enough time, she would recover completely.
The Sea Elf Maiden’s eyes were filled with terror and disgust. Facing the three land-dwellers, her heart pounded with trepidation.
"Colson, ask her why she came to the shore."
Vili ordered Colson.
Hearing this, Colson nodded. While repeating Vili’s question, he channeled a strange power.
The Sea Elf Maiden’s eyes widened abruptly. This newest land-dweller... he had actually conveyed his meaning through Spiritual Power!
Seeing this, the Sea Elf Maiden hurriedly opened her mouth and said a few words that Vili couldn’t understand.
Her voice was still beautiful, but its intonation and syllables were vastly different from a Human’s.
"What did she say?"
Vili asked Colson.
Colson sniffed. "Lord Vili, it seems she didn’t answer your question."
"She told me to tell you that you must release her back into the sea immediately, or you will face the wrath of the Sea Elf race."
Hearing this, Vili let out a scornful laugh.
He knew very well that releasing this Sea Elf Maiden back into the sea would be the real disaster.
"Tell her to answer my questions honestly. Otherwise, I’ll have no choice but to kill her."
Colson relayed Vili’s message.
The Sea Elf Maiden shivered, looking at Vili in terror.
’This land-dweller... he really is thinking about killing me!’
She suddenly regretted it all. Why, out of a moment’s curiosity, did she approach the Human World, only to run into such a terrifying monster?
The Sea Elf Maiden replied tremblingly, indicating that she would answer his questions.
"Good!"
Vili smiled. Cooperation was always a good thing.
With Colson’s help, Vili began his conversation with the Sea Elf Maiden.
"Your name, and where you’re from."
"My name is Selena. I’m from the Kala Coral Tribe in the deep sea."
The Sea Elf Maiden’s voice was exceptionally pleasant.
"Why did you approach the Human World, and why did you kill my soldiers?"
Vili had wanted to find out the reason, but he received an unexpected answer.
"I didn’t kill your soldiers!"
The Sea Elf Maiden looked defensive and confused.
