I Transmigrated as a Peasant, but My System Wanna Make Me a Duke!
Chapter 141: Wally’s Future Self-Portrait
Chapter 141: Chapter 141: Wally’s Future Self-Portrait
"As for the family crest, Father, what’s your opinion?"
Vili first asked his father, Lake, for his opinion on the family crest.
"Hmm..." Lake waved his hand dismissively. "You decide."
He understood that even if he gave his opinion, it wouldn’t be chosen. He might as well save his breath.
"I’ll say it!"
Vilia shot up from her stool and dashed over to Vili’s desk. With her hands on her hips, she met Vili’s gaze fearlessly.
She was probably the only person in White Bear Town who now dared to confront the Lord Baron so directly.
"Alright, you tell us."
Vili knew Vilia was on the verge of exploding, so he decided to let her vent a little.
"The family crest should be designed to look like Wally!"
Vilia stated her position firmly.
Hearing this, Vili raised an eyebrow. This time, the siblings had actually thought of the same thing.
Ever since Vili first entered Diamond Town and saw the Aure Family’s crest behind Baron Kels, he had dreamed that if he ever became a noble, his family crest would absolutely be designed to look like Wally.
He just never expected this day to come so soon.
"I think what Miss Vilia said is excellent. I agree."
Old Yor immediately sensed Vili’s approval and was quick to voice his support.
Dane and Lake quickly followed suit.
"Hehe..."
Vilia grinned, thinking her idea had won everyone over.
Vili glanced at Vilia and put on a troubled expression. "Let me think about it..."
"What’s there to think about?" Vilia was about to retort, but then her eyes darted slyly. She sidled up to Vili, tugging at the corner of his sleeve. "Big Brother, please just listen to me this one time..."
Vili pretended to mull it over for a moment, making it seem as if he were reluctantly agreeing to Vilia’s request. "Alright, we’ll do as you say."
"However, I have to be the one to decide on the specific design."
Before Vilia could even celebrate, Vili immediately added.
"Fine..."
Vilia stuck out her tongue.
"Painter!"
Vili called over the painter standing at the very back.
"Lord Baron."
The painter was a man of about forty with an artistic air about him.
"You will design the family crest according to my description."
Vili instructed.
"Yes, Lord Baron."
The painter acknowledged, then set up his drawing board, laid out the paper, and prepared his paints.
Vili recalled something for a moment, then began. "The basic framework is a white bear looking up at the sky."
"Yes, just like that. It’s standing on its hind legs, paws spread open, with a blue glow in its eyes, and it should be on the right side of the image. Also, it needs to be wearing armor. The armor is an inverted triangle with distinct, stepped layers. Here, here, and here should also be glowing blue... And it has a helmet on its head, connected to the armor..."
As Vili spoke, he directed the painter. "Right, that’s the general idea. Then, above its head, a swath of blue lightning."
The painter struggled to make the revisions, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
This was the first time he’d ever heard of a family crest being so complex.
He wanted to object to some of Vili’s ideas, but ultimately, he didn’t dare to speak up.
After several revisions, the complex family crest finally took shape.
Vili smiled with satisfaction. ’If any LOL players from my past life saw this image, they’d recognize it in a heartbeat. This is the classic appearance of Thunderous Roar Volibear.’
"Lord Baron..."
Sandoor, who had been looking conflicted for a while, finally spoke up. "This family crest is certainly striking, but it seems a bit... overly complex."
The painter subtly pursed his lips. ’Sandoor should have said that much earlier,’ he thought.
"I suppose it is..."
Sandoor’s reminder seemed to jog Vili’s memory.
In the Lanton Duchy, noble family crests were supposed to be simple yet distinctive.
’No one has probably ever used a crest this complex before.’
’I was a bit too fixated on getting this exact image drawn.’
"In that case, let’s just use Wally’s head for the family crest," Vili quickly decided. "Vilia, go get Wally."
Vilia nodded, walked straight to the window, and shouted Wally’s name.
A short while later, a white bear entered the room, its paws padding across the floor.
Wally had intended to scamper over to Vili’s feet, but as it passed the portrait of the Thunderous Roar, the bear froze.
It tilted its head, staring at the giant bear that faced a sky full of lightning, its eyes filled with anthropomorphic shock.
It was as if that one look at the Thunderous Roar was a glimpse of destiny.
Wally felt as if it were looking at its future self.
’This is what I’m supposed to become.’
"Wally! Come here and sit still!"
Wally was still lost in its emotions, unable to pull itself away, when Vilia grabbed it by the ear and dragged it in front of the painter.
"Mr. Painter, start designing the family crest!"
Vilia said to the painter.
"Of course, Miss Vilia."
The painter quickly complied.
He put brush to paper, and simple lines quickly sketched out Wally’s likeness.
It looked innocent, dazed, and a little bit dopey.
"It doesn’t seem imposing enough."
Vili remarked.
Vilia got the hint and gave Wally a slap on the head. "Look more serious, you dumb bear!"
Wally instantly furrowed its brow, baring its two short fangs.
"Serious, not ferocious!"
Wally was scolded by Vilia again.
Half an hour later, the mentally and physically exhausted painter finally finished designing the Ferren Family’s crest.
"Excellent. That settles it."
Vili made the final decision.
And so, on that day, Blue Whale Town was renamed White Bear Town.
The new noble family, the Ferren Family, now had its own family crest.
「In the days that followed.」
Vili, along with Sandoor and Dane, established the new administration for White Bear Town.
Of the former subordinates of Baron Enton from Blue Whale Town, only some non-essential personnel were kept on. All core members were replaced.
During this time, the deed of territorial grant submitted by Baron Kels to Count Lumbar was also approved, and Fandou Village officially became a subordinate village of White Bear Town.
Upon receiving this news, Old Yor ultimately chose to take his leave.
He knew very well that Fandou Village, not White Bear Town, was where he truly belonged.
Before departing, he left Yadon behind, instructing him to carry out Baron Vili’s will, even at the cost of his own life.
Vili chose to respect Old Yor’s request. He honored his initial promise, appointing Old Yor as the new Village Chief of Fandou Village. Vili felt more at ease with Fandou Village in Old Yor’s hands.
「A few days later.」
Vili’s changes to the town’s name—White Bear Town—and the Ferren family crest were officially registered under Count Lumbar’s jurisdiction.
Under Vili’s efforts, White Bear Town slowly but surely began to find its footing.
The curtain had been raised on Vili’s life as a nobleman.
