Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Destruction

Condas’s reflexes were lightning-fast. He moved in a blur, and the Wide-Backed Giant Sword scraped past him.

But Dabbit’s assault didn’t pause for a moment. He swung the massive blade as if it were a mere wooden stick.

Condas was forced to remain on the defensive, his every attempt to attack broken apart by Dabbit.

His brow furrowed. After dodging another ferocious strike, he forced some distance between himself and Dabbit.

"To still be so agile at your age, Lord Condas, I’m truly impressed!" Dabbit laughed wildly, the thrill of battle making the veins on his neck bulge. "But your life ends now!"

"Die!"

Dabbit gripped the Wide-Backed Giant Sword with both hands and swung it violently.

A translucent wave of Sword Qi shot out of thin air.

This wave of Sword Qi was over two meters long and seemed almost corporeal.

’This is bad!’

Condas’s face fell. Seeing this terrifying Sword Qi, he finally understood why Dabbit was rumored to be on the verge of becoming a Senior Knight.

Not even the arrogant but gifted Jarvis could produce Sword Qi of this intensity.

He had no time to think. As he dodged, he swung his Knight’s Lance with one hand, unleashing his Knight’s Fighting Spirit in an attempt to neutralize Dabbit’s Sword Qi.

But it was clear that Condas was still too weak to face Dabbit.

Dabbit’s Sword Qi shattered Condas’s Fighting Spirit and surged toward him.

Condas desperately tried to dodge but was still struck in the midsection.

Blood sprayed through the air, exposing the raw flesh of Condas’s side.

But he had no chance to recover. Two more waves of Sword Qi from Dabbit were already upon him.

’So this is it...’

Condas’s thoughts flashed like lightning. As he watched the two nearly-corporeal waves of Sword Qi approach, scenes from his past flooded his mind.

’Born into a family of Civil Servants, gifted in my youth, married to a wealthy merchant’s daughter, then promoted to Knight and trusted by the Old Baron...’ Condas suddenly realized he had no regrets.

All this happened in an instant.

A look of resolve flashed in Condas’s eyes.

Instead of dodging, he charged forward and leapt high into the air.

’Hmm?’

A flicker of surprise appeared in Dabbit’s eyes.

’Is Condas trying to get himself killed?’

But in the next moment, Dabbit knew he was wrong.

The two waves of Sword Qi sliced through Condas’s body, but the Knight’s Lance in his hand continued its relentless forward thrust.

’Damn it!’

Dabbit was shocked. He scrambled to dodge but was a fraction too slow.

The Knight’s Lance pierced Dabbit’s upper chest, stopping a mere five centimeters from his heart.

’So close...’

Condas felt his body being torn apart. His consciousness was fading, and all his strength drained away.

THUD.

Condas’s broken body collapsed in front of Dabbit, devoid of life.

"You old bastard! You just had to wound me before you died!"

Dabbit roared in fury and yanked the Knight’s Lance from his body.

He swung his Giant Sword, bringing the flat of the blade crashing down on Condas’s head.

Blood and brain matter splattered everywhere.

"Jarvis... yes, Jarvis is next!"

Completely ignoring his wound, Dabbit broke into a maniacal grin.

...

「Meanwhile, at Baron Enton’s Manor.」

More and more Pirates were arriving, having broken through the coastal defenses.

This was a premeditated attack. Before striking, Yavira had already investigated Blue Whale Town in detail.

Their main objective was not plunder, but the destruction of Blue Whale Town’s governing body.

Therefore, their primary target was the Baron’s Manor.

Baron Enton was clad in Heavy Armor, his silver Knight’s Lance held firmly in hand. Old bloodstains still marked its tip.

This was the very weapon his grandfather, the first Baron of Blue Whale Town, had used to win glorious victories on the battlefield!

Now, Baron Enton gripped it tightly, facing a battle he knew he could not survive.

"Come on, you bastards!"

The enemy had already charged into the manor.

Baron Enton led the charge, plunging straight into the throng of enemies.

Seeing this, the Personal Guard and Guards behind him understood the Baron’s resolve.

Many of them tightened their grip on their weapons and charged the Pirates swarming the manor.

Of course, not everyone was so courageous. Some of the Personal Guard and Guards deliberately lagged behind, searching for any opportunity to flee.

"Cowards!"

With every swing of his lance, Baron Enton took a life.

Baron Enton felt more alive in this moment than he had in decades.

"There he is. Just as we thought, he’s still here."

At the manor gate, the faces of several armored Pirates who had just arrived showed a hint of relief.

They were all Knight-Level experts from the Green Shell Pirate Gang, tasked with assassinating Baron Enton.

After all, in an age of nobles, the most potent symbol of destroying a Lord’s rule was to take his head.

They had thought Baron Enton might flee in fear of death, but it seemed they had worried for nothing.

Of course, the Baron’s courage earned none of their respect.

"Move in."

A skinny man suddenly gave the order.

The group surged forward, charging directly at Baron Enton.

’They’re here.’

Baron Enton’s eyes were perfectly calm.

"Surround him! We kill him now!"

The skinny man commanded again.

In an instant, Baron Enton was beset by attacks from all sides.

The skinny man led the charge. He knew Baron Enton was a Middle Knight, and as one himself, he chose to face him directly.

As for the other Junior Knights, they needed only to strike from the flanks.

Baron Enton let out a great roar, his Fighting Spirit erupting as he met the charge!

...

A bleak sun shone down on the bleeding streets of Blue Whale Town. The waves still crashed, the clouds still drifted, and the cries of seagulls still echoed from the sky...

Shouts of fury, pleas for mercy, cries of grief, and wails of agony...

The slaughter continued... Life withered away...

The rule of Blue Whale Town, established one hundred and fifty years ago, came to a final end on this day.

...

「In the manor.」

Two Knight’s Lances pierced Baron Enton’s back, and a longsword was buried in his chest.

Beside him lay the bodies of two Junior Knights. The skinny Middle Knight was missing an arm.

Baron Enton was on his last breath. He used his Knight’s Lance to prop himself up, refusing to fall.

"At least... I haven’t shamed... my grandfather... or my father..."

The last spark of light faded from Baron Enton’s eyes.

"Whew..."

The skinny man let out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. He never imagined this pampered Baron would have such astonishing willpower.

He glanced at the corpses littering the ground around them and ordered, "Take his head. We’re heading back."

The curtain had fallen on Blue Whale Town.
