Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Storm Town Meira

"Wait..."

Bamos was about to take Vili to share the good news with the Baron, but he suddenly remembered Vilia was still there. He waved over a female attendant from a distance and summoned her.

"Take good care of Miss Vilia and bring her to the dining area for some food. Remember, you must keep a close eye on her so she doesn’t get lost in the crowd," Bamos ordered.

The attendant bowed and acknowledged the command.

"Remember to eat fewer sweets, or you’ll turn into a chubby little kid," Vili instructed before following Bamos deeper into the main hall to find Baron Kels.

Vilia pouted and made a face at Vili’s back, muttering under her breath, "I’m not Wally. How could I turn into a fatty?"

Bamos led Vili toward the back of the central hall, where the crowd thinned out. The guests here were of higher status, all personally received by Kels.

Walking through the crowd, Vili saw many familiar faces, such as Morion and Bisen, and they exchanged brief greetings.

"Father," Bamos said, having found Baron Kels with Vili in tow.

Baron Kels was currently conversing with a silver-haired, wrinkled man. The Baron’s attitude toward him was quite amiable, making it clear this man held an unusual status.

The sudden appearance of Bamos and Vili shifted the attention of both Baron Kels and the man.

"Young Master Bamos." The man clearly knew Bamos already. He smiled faintly and gave a slight nod.

"Mr. Meira," Bamos replied with a similar greeting.

"Meira?" A hint of surprise flashed in Vili’s eyes. He had heard that name before.

Meira was the top senior official serving under Baron Nando of the neighboring Storm Town. Holding multiple positions, including Town Mayor of Storm Town and the Baron’s First Secretary, he was deeply valued by Baron Nando. He was likely here on behalf of Baron Nando to offer New Year’s greetings.

Vili had heard that during the New Year, Storm Town’s emissary was always Baron Nando’s younger brother, Knight Naver. However, before the war between the two territories broke out, Knight Naver was assassinated, so Meira had to come in person.

Meira’s face held a smile, but there was a look of envy in his eyes as he looked at Baron Kels and Bamos.

During the recent conflict, Baron Kels had acted decisively, directly trading the Snow Pattern Deer for the support of five Senior Knights for a month, which successfully secured peace. In contrast, Storm Town had stubbornly resisted for nearly four months. At the final critical moment, they had to pay a massive amount of treasure just to exchange for the support of two of Count Lumbar’s Senior Knights for three days.

It wasn’t until last month that the war ended and Storm Town’s safety was secured. Even so, Storm Town had suffered immense losses. The death of Knight Naver, in particular, instantly halved Storm Town’s Advanced Combat Power. After all, prior to this, the only Knight Level powerhouses in Storm Town were Baron Nando and Naver.

Arriving in Diamond Town and seeing that Baron Kels had suffered hardly any losses, Meira was naturally filled with envy.

"And this is?" Meira suddenly noticed Vili standing nearby.

Dressed in exquisite Light Armor and carrying a luxurious Swift Sword, Vili stood out remarkably.

Meira narrowed his eyes slightly. Even before introductions were made, he had already guessed Vili’s identity. At his age, to be brought directly to Baron Kels by Bamos, it could be none other than the rapidly rising Vili Ferren.

"Mr. Meira, I am Vili Ferren," Vili introduced himself formally.

"It really is Mr. Vili. Young and promising," Meira smiled, then turned back to Baron Kels. "Congratulations, Lord Baron, on having such an outstanding young man under your command."

Baron Kels smiled without saying a word. In truth, he was highly satisfied with Vili. Whether it was his personal Ability or his talent for cultivation, Vili was a promising talent. Leaving such a core asset for Bamos was the only way he could truly be at ease.

"Lord Baron, I won’t intrude any further. I still have to make a trip to Blue Whale Town to pay my respects to Baron Enton."

At the mention of this, Meira and Baron Kels exchanged a glance, both catching the disgust and aversion in each other’s eyes.

Baron Enton’s territory was the most luxurious among the nearby noble estates. Close to the ocean, it spanned a large area and was incredibly prosperous. Because of this, he always acted overbearing toward the other nobles. For instance, during the capture of the Snow Pattern Deer, even when it had escaped to Diamond Town, he had still secretly sent people to make a move.

Particularly during the recent outbreak of war, Blue Whale Town, which was not on the border, was completely untouched by the devastation of battle. Baron Nando had even swallowed his pride to ask Baron Enton for reinforcements, only to be ruthlessly rejected. This further deepened the conflict between the two Barons.

However, with the arrival of the New Year, they still had to keep up appearances.

Accompanied by Baron Kels, his son, and Vili, Meira was escorted out of the central hall.

"Father, next, I have some good news to tell you," Bamos said slowly after sending Meira off.

"Good news?" Baron Kels raised his eyebrows, about to tease Bamos, when he suddenly noticed Vili beside him.

Because he had been talking with Meira earlier, he hadn’t paid much attention to Vili. Now, as he took a closer look, he suddenly sensed a familiar aura.

"Vili, you advanced to a Knight!?" Baron Kels’s discernment was clearly far superior to Bamos’s.

"Yes, Lord Baron." Vili gave a slight nod, not appearing arrogant.

Baron Kels paused for a moment before letting out an undisguised, hearty laugh, causing the other guests in the hall to look over in surprise and wonder. What in the world had happened to make the Lord Baron so happy?

Baron Kels felt incredibly exhilarated. This was the best New Year’s gift he had received this year!

He had originally been heartbroken over giving away the Bronze Level Snow Pattern Deer, but in the blink of an eye, Diamond Town had gained another Knight Level Advanced Combat Power! Since Vili was able to advance to a Junior Knight in such a short time, with his talent, there was naturally a high chance he would advance to a Senior Knight in the future!

A Senior Knight—that was a terrifying powerhouse that Diamond Town currently didn’t even possess.

"If Olay knew this news, he would be absolutely thrilled!" Baron Kels patted Vili’s shoulder, feeling a surge of delight. "No, besides being happy, he’d also feel ashamed. As a teacher, he hasn’t even taught you anything yet, and you’ve already cultivated into a Knight on your own. When he gets back, I’m definitely going to mock him ruthlessly!"
