Chapter 447: Chapter 330: Who’s the Pushover? (Part 2)
Now that Yu Changsheng had found him, he wasn’t flustered in the slightest. On the contrary, he was calm and composed, the corners of his mouth curling up into an inscrutable smile.
He looked as if he had victory in his grasp, a chosen son of heaven. To possess such confidence was a testament to his extraordinary nature. The fluctuations of his Golden Core Cultivation were like a bright lamp in the dark night, impossible to ignore.
"Chu Chengyu?"
Yu Changsheng narrowed his eyes, studying the man as relevant information surfaced in his mind.
Chu Chengyu, a top prodigy of the Cang Lei Sect, was far beyond what Zhang Chengming could ever hope to match. Within their sect, only Wang Haiyang could definitively suppress him.
What caught Yu Changsheng’s attention most was the man’s rank on the Celestial Slaughter List. He was just one spot behind him, not far at all—number eleven.
"That’s right. It seems you do know who I am."
Chu Chengyu chuckled, fanning himself with the folding fan in his hand. A smug look appeared on his face as he raised an eyebrow at Yu Changsheng, his gaze burning with fervor. He unconsciously licked his lips.
"You’ve got quite a few Evil Qi Points on you. It’s not easy for the Wanxiang Sect to produce a genius like you, but since you’ve run into me, you might as well surrender obediently. I might even consider sparing your life."
Chu Chengyu’s thinking was simple. In his eyes, Yu Changsheng possessed a large number of Evil Qi Points, yet his strength was among the weakest on the Celestial Slaughter List. Now that he had run into him, there was no reason to let him go.
As for strength, Chu Chengyu was extremely confident in himself—or rather, extremely confident in his assessment of Yu Changsheng. After all, everyone knew that among the Three Gates and Six Sects, the Wanxiang Sect was at the very bottom. It had been weak for a long time, so how could its top prodigy possibly compare to him? A soft persimmon like this was just begging to be squeezed.
With this mindset, Chu Chengyu’s words grew even more discourteous. He stepped forward slowly, one foot after another, as the full force of his Golden Core Cultivation erupted from him.
Yu Changsheng’s expression remained unchanged. He watched Chu Chengyu with a cold indifference, his gaze like he was looking at a dead man. This look made Chu Chengyu frown, a flicker of displeasure in his heart.
"Still trying to act tough? I suppose that makes sense. You’ve probably grown so used to the halo of being a prodigy in the Wanxiang Sect that it’s clouded your vision. You still can’t see the gap between yourself and a true genius."
Chu Chengyu shook his head lightly and let out a snort, his eyes filled with contempt. However, neither his actions nor his thoughts showed the slightest hint of carelessness or underestimation.
"Fine. Allow me to shatter your beautiful dream and force you to face reality. What kind of outstanding genius could possibly come from a small place like the Wanxiang Sect?"
"Are you finished?"
Chu Chengyu was about to continue his mockery but was cut off mercilessly by Yu Changsheng. Annoyance was plain on Yu Changsheng’s face. He narrowed his eyes, his tone as cold as a midwinter wind, and killing intent surged in his gaze.
Chu Chengyu froze for a moment. When his eyes met Yu Changsheng’s icy stare, his heart inexplicably trembled. After coming to his senses, a hint of fury appeared on his face.
"Do you think you can run wild just because you have one Tier Three beast? If your trump card is..."
Chu Chengyu swallowed the rest of his words, his expression turning dazed. His gaze grew solemn, and a drop of cold sweat slowly trickled down his forehead.
"Is that so?"
Yu Changsheng shook his head slightly. As he spoke, he waved his sleeve, and the Colorful Star Deer appeared. It and the Red Purgatory Dragon stood guard on either side of him. The power fluctuations of Tier Three beasts were unmistakable.
"Two Tier Three beasts..."
Chu Chengyu’s heart skipped a beat. After secretly swallowing, he took a small step back. His wariness reached its absolute peak in that instant. Taking a deep breath, lightning flashed in his hand, and his body exploded into action. He transformed into a sky-shaking bolt of thunder, coalescing into a Thunderbolt Spear that shot toward Yu Changsheng!
"SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!"
Lightning flashed and thunder rumbled. In a flash, Chu Chengyu’s figure flickered in and out of sight. His face was savage; he struck with thunderous power from the very start, holding nothing back. His speed was so great that not even an afterimage was visible.
"Interesting. Your Thunder Skill isn’t bad, but it’s still a bit lacking compared to Senior Brother Zhang’s."
Yu Changsheng’s expression was indifferent. He calmly uttered three words as the veins on his arm bulged. The potent fluctuations of his vital energy and blood even suppressed the surrounding Evil Qi. The phantom image of a thousand mountains appeared behind him, ultimately condensing into his fist. As Yu Changsheng threw the punch, it felt as if the sky was falling and the earth was splitting apart; the very void trembled.
"Thousand Mountains Fist!"
The light of the fist was brilliant, carrying an unstoppable momentum. It was truly as heavy as a thousand mountains as it slammed down, meeting the Thunderbolt Spear head-on.
"What?"
The moment he felt the might of that punch, Chu Chengyu’s face changed drastically. The astonishment in his heart was so overwhelming it short-circuited his brain, transforming into outright panic.
"PFFT—"
In the next moment, Yu Changsheng casually shook his arm, his body as unmoving as a mountain, his expression unchanged. Chu Chengyu, on the other hand, was sent flying backward at an even greater speed, like a kite with a snapped string.
Mouthful after mouthful of blood sprayed out, scattering into the void. Chu Chengyu’s face was deathly pale. His confidence was gone, replaced by panic and disbelief.
’Dammit, how can he be this strong?! With a terrifying physique like that, who’s the real soft persimmon?!’
Chu Chengyu wailed inwardly, his teeth chattering uncontrollably. He looked at Yu Changsheng as if he were staring at a Demon God, trembling with fear.
A terrifying emotion welled up inside him.
In a single exchange, his all-out attack had been casually shattered by one of Yu Changsheng’s punches. The difference in their strength was instantly clear.
Chu Chengyu knew in his heart that he was no match for Yu Changsheng!
’And you! Why the hell are you being so low-key when you have this kind of power?’
’This is bad. I have to run!’
Wailing in his heart, Chu Chengyu made up his mind. Without the slightest hesitation, he turned and transformed into a streak of lightning, attempting to flee.
The people of the Cang Lei Sect were mostly masters of Thunder Skills. Their attacks were like thunderbolts, astonishingly powerful, and their speed was second to none. If they were determined to escape, few in the same realm could hope to catch them.
"Did I say you could leave?"
Yu Changsheng frowned slightly. As he watched Chu Chengyu’s retreating figure, his words echoed out as he executed several Shadow Flashes, rapidly closing the distance between them.
"Thousand Thoughts Slash!"
Once he was close enough, Yu Changsheng softly uttered three words. His vast Divine Sense poured out in an instant, transforming into a Thunder Needle that shot from his eyes, stabbing fiercely toward Chu Chengyu’s fleeing form.
Invisible ripples spread out. Chu Chengyu’s escaping figure abruptly froze. He let out a muffled grunt, feeling the world spin inside his head.
A trickle of blood uncontrollably dripped from his nose, and his speed slowed.
’Not good!’
Chu Chengyu’s reaction was also lightning-fast. The moment he sensed something was wrong, he summoned a spark of lightning to his fingertip and jabbed it hard against his own forehead.
In that instant, the Divine Sense thunderbolt ravaging his mind was dispelled by the lightning, and his vision cleared. But in that same moment, a lotus flower shimmering with seven-colored light slowly bloomed before his eyes.
"Mysterious Illusion Realm!"
The flower opened into nine petals, emitting a captivating seven-colored light. At the peak of its splendor, it was utterly mesmerizing.
The moment he saw it, Chu Chengyu was completely lost. His gaze was fixed, unable to turn away, and his hands froze. A dazed, foolish smile spread across his face.
"Evil Fire Purgatory!"
Endless Evil Fire condensed in that instant, forming another figure of a Red Purgatory Dragon. It was lifelike, burning fiercely, and radiating astonishing power fluctuations and a vast draconic might. Amplified by Yu Changsheng’s Five Elements Beast Technique, it lunged forward to viciously devour the stunned Chu Chengyu!
RUMBLE!
Faced with a life-and-death crisis, Chu Chengyu’s body began to struggle violently. But just as he broke free, he was met with the massive, bloody maw of the flame dragon, its fangs bared and flames splashing everywhere.
"Don’t... I..."
Chu Chengyu’s pupils contracted violently, his face a mask of pure terror. He had only managed to get a few words out before the massive, bloody maw swallowed him whole, and the sky-filling flames engulfed his entire body.
A blood-curdling scream echoed out. After a violent shudder, the Evil Fire dragon exploded, taking Chu Chengyu’s body with it, leaving nothing but ash.
