The subterranean arena beneath the central keep of The Iron Spire was a vast, circular amphitheater carved directly out of heavy, black granite bedrock. High above, ancient mana-flambeaux burned with steady, pale-blue flames, casting long, shifting shadows across the reinforced stone floor. The air was cool, dry, and thick with the heavy scent of crushed stone and ozone.

Raphael stood in the center of the eighty-meter arena ring, his feet firmly planted in his high-top sneakers.

He had discarded his outer coat and gauntlets for the session, wearing only his sleek black tank top and black cargo trousers. His dark, messy hair was pushed back, sweat already glistening against his broad, carved chest and massive shoulders. Held loosely in his right hand was the four-foot matte-black longsword from the Vanguard of the Eclipse set, its adamantine edge resting mere inches above the concrete floor. His left hand, holding the curved parrying dagger, hung loosely at his side.

Standing forty paces across the ring was his opponent: the Abyssal Warmaster.

The Warmaster was a towering eight-foot construct of ancient, dark-iron skeletal plate armor, its broad chest cavity burning with a steady, deep-crimson soul-flame. It held a massive, six-foot obsidian greatsword in a two-handed grip, the heavy blade resting vertically before its iron faceplate.

Unlike the mindless B-Tier treants or feral constructs Raphael had fought in Sector 3, the Warmaster was a master of martial warfare, a centuries-old combat spirit bound directly to the castle’s core.

Beside the high balcony railing overlooking the arena, Vanessa stood quietly, her dark relic-staff held vertically as she acted as the session’s observer.

"Rule parameters established, Lord Raphael," Vanessa’s silk-like voice echoed clearly through the vast stone chamber. "Sovereign’s Veil pinned at maximum compression. No spatial teleportation, no domain overwrites, and no kinetic long-range slashes. Pure physical mechanics and blade technique."

Raphael rolled his broad shoulders, his eyes locking onto the Warmaster’s crimson eye-sockets.

"Begin," Raphael commanded quietly.

BOOM!

The Abyssal Warmaster didn’t hesitate. The eight-foot skeletal giant lunged forward with terrifying kinetic speed, its heavy iron boots shattering the granite floor below its feet as it covered thirty paces in a fraction of a second.

The six-foot obsidian greatsword swung through the air in a brutal, horizontal cleave, the heavy blade whistling with supersonic force aimed straight at Raphael’s midsection.

Raphael didn’t retreat.

He didn’t rely on his Phasing Step or spatial tears to slip away. Instead, he dropped his center of gravity, pivoting his right foot on the smooth sneakers. His neural perception mapped the greatsword’s arc in milliseconds.

CLANG!

Raphael brought his curved parrying dagger up at a precise, forty-five-degree angle, meeting the massive flat of the Warmaster’s greatsword right near the hilt... the point of lowest kinetic leverage. With a sharp, fluid twist of his left wrist, he deflected the eight-hundred-pound blow upward, letting the massive obsidian blade bite deep into the empty air above his head.

In the same seamless motion, Raphael stepped inside the giant’s guard, his four-foot longsword thrusting straight toward the Warmaster’s exposed iron collarbone.

ZIP!

The Warmaster, reacting with ancient martial instinct, dropped its heavy left elbow, slamming its armored forearm down to intercept the longsword’s tip.

SPARK!

A blinding shower of white sparks exploded in the dark arena as matte-black adamantine ground against ancient dark iron. The kinetic feedback vibrated straight through Raphael’s wrist, but he didn’t yield an inch. His broad shoulder slammed directly into the Warmaster’s armored chest plate, using pure physical momentum to shove the eight-foot giant back three paces.

The Warmaster’s iron boots skidded across the granite floor, leaving deep, white gouges in the stone.

"Good," Raphael muttered, his deep baritone completely steady despite the high-speed exchange. "Again."

The Warmaster let out a low, metallic roar that echoed off the stone walls like grinding gears. The crimson soul-flame inside its chest flared brightly as it readjusted its footing, shifting into a high-guard stance.

It launched into an uninterrupted, five-strike heavy combination: overhead vertical cleaves, low sweeping cuts, and thrusts that carried enough raw physical force to crush a tank. Raphael met the assault head-on, stepping into the rhythm of the blade.

CLANG! CLANG! BANG! CLANG!

The subterranean arena reverberated with the rhythmic, deafening thunder of colliding high-tier steel. Raphael moved like a shadow in his black tank top and sneakers, his footwork fluid, precise, and completely devoid of wasted motion. He wasn’t just blocking; he was testing the limits of his natural physical attributes without relying on spatial magic.

Every block was angled to redirect force; every parry was paired with an immediate counter-thrust aimed at the Warmaster’s armor joints.

When the Warmaster executed a violent, downward diagonal smash, Raphael didn’t meet it directly. He executed a sharp lateral step to the left, letting the six-foot greatsword slam into the concrete floor, blowing a two-foot crater into the granite.

Before the giant could reset its heavy blade, Raphael executed a lightning-fast sweeping kick with his right leg, his athletic sneaker slamming straight into the back of the Warmaster’s left knee joint.

CRACK-THUD!

The massive eight-foot armored construct was forced down onto one knee, its heavy greatsword jammed deep into the shattered stone floor.

Raphael didn’t pause. He spun on his heel, bringing his matte-black longsword around in a clean, effortless arc, stopping the razor-sharp adamantine edge a fraction of an inch from the Warmaster’s iron throat.

Silence settled over the vast arena, broken only by the soft, rhythmic breathing of Raphael and the crackle of the mana-flambeaux above.

The Warmaster remained motionless on one knee for a long moment, its crimson soul-flame pulsing softly. Then, it slowly lowered its head in absolute, martial submission, letting go of its greatsword hilt. On the high balcony, Vanessa clapped her hands together in quiet, genuine admiration.

"A flawless physical victory, Sovereign," Vanessa called down, her silk-like voice filled with pride. "You disarmed a centuries-old war spirit in under four minutes without utilizing a single drop of spatial mana."

Raphael smoothly resheathed his longsword across his back and wiped a line of sweat from his forehead with his forearm. He looked down at his calloused palms. His muscle memory was sharp, his physical reaction time was flawless, and his body was operating at absolute peak efficiency.

"Physical mechanics are solid," Raphael said, looking up toward the balcony at Vanessa. "Now, reset the arena. Bring out three automated Stone Sentinels from the gardens."

His luminous silver eyes flashed with a cold, dangerous light as he flexed his fingers.

"It’s time to test Realm-Breaker against heavy armor."
