I Summon Female Knights

Chapter 52: Castle Construction

  • Next Chapter

High above the bottomless, purple-tinted abyss, the reconstruction of the realm unfolded with breathtaking, terrifying beauty.

The divine golden light radiating from the consumed Dungeon Core fused with the vast reservoir of Mid-Tier Castle Materials, initiating an automated architectural miracle. The transformation focused entirely on the central landmass: the massive, jagged island where the Old King’s dark citadel had once stood over the sky-shattered domain.

The ruined, cracked stone of the old citadel dissolved into fine black dust, swept away by the roaring wind. In its place, colossal blocks of dark, refined stone, smooth as polished glass and tough as adamantine, erupted from the bedrock.

Massive, reinforced iron girders wove together like liquid threads, forming the inner structural skeletal framework of a broad, imposing fortress. Towering gothic spires rose like obsidian spears toward the crackling purple clouds, while thick, crenellated ramparts expanded along the edge of the island, creating an unbreachable perimeter.

Intricate silvery-violet runes were automatically etched into every stone block and lintel, humming with high-frequency Sovereign energy as the new stronghold locked its spatial anchor directly to Raphael’s soul.

Within less than an hour, the grand construction settled into a quiet, majestic stillness.

...

Deep within the primary royal wing of the newly forged castle, a heavy, dark-oak double door stood sealed against the howling atmospheric winds outside.

The master chamber was vast, framed by towering obsidian pillars and arched windows that looked out over the infinite, swirling twilight of the vault. In the center of the spacious room rested a grand, elevated four-poster bed, draped in thick, plush velvet blankets of deep crimson and midnight black.

On the bed lay Raphael.

His broad frame occupied nearly the entire length of the mattress. The heavy tactical hoodie and scorched armor had been removed, leaving him in a clean, soft black tunic. Underneath his skin, the micro-threads of his core worked in harmony with the domain’s ambient mana, rapidly knitting his torn muscles, soothing his bruised internal organs, and smoothing over the battle scars left by his violent confrontation with the Void Drake and the Old King.

Beside the bed sat Vanessa.

She was seated gracefully in a high-backed, carved wooden armchair. Her slender hands rested lightly on her lap, her long, dark robes cascading over the rug. Her pale face was relaxed, her eyes closed in a quiet state of deep mana recovery.

Floating silently in mid-air just inches from her right hand was her dark relic-staff, its top crystal glowing with a faint, steady violet pulse that acted as a silent, vigilant sentry over the room.

A long, deep breath expanded Raphael’s broad chest.

His thick, messy dark bangs shifted slightly as his eyelids fluttered. Slowly, agonizingly, the heavy weight of sleep lifted from his consciousness.

Raphael stirred. His fingers twitched against the soft crimson sheets, feeling the luxurious, unfamiliar fabric beneath his knuckles. A low, gravelly groan escaped his throat as he forced his heavy eyelids open, revealing luminous silver eyes that blinked against the soft, warm ambient light of the room.

He sat up slowly, pushing himself onto his elbows.

The moment his gaze swept across the room, a look of profound shock and uncharacteristic surprise settled over his carved features.

He wasn’t on the cold, shattered stone floor of a ruined throne room. He wasn’t in his cramped, creaky apartment in Jiston, nor was he locked inside a sterile Bureau holding cell. He was in a room fit for an emperor.

The ceiling arched thirty feet above him, supported by polished dark stone pillars carved with glowing runic inscriptions. Through the massive, floor-to-ceiling lancet windows at the far end of the chamber, he could see the swirling, purple clouds and crackling pink lightning of the sky-shattered domain, yet not a single drop of rain or gust of violent wind breached the enchanted glass.

The air inside was warm, clean, and saturated with pure, calming mana that gently laved his weary core.

"What..." Raphael muttered softly, his deep voice rough from disuse as he looked down at his clean hands and the pristine bed. "Where..."

The quiet rustle of fabric answered him.

At the sound of his voice, Vanessa’s long dark eyelashes fluttered open. Her cold violet eyes, previously veiled in sleep, instantly locked onto his sitting form with absolute, sharp clarity. The floating relic-staff beside her arm descended smoothly, its tip settling silently onto the floor as she leaned forward in her chair.

A faint, exceptionally rare warmth touched her pale features as she observed her master sitting up.

"You are awake, Sovereign," Vanessa said softly, her silk-like voice carrying an undeniable tone of reverent relief that echoed through the quiet chamber.

Raphael turned his head toward her, his messy dark hair falling over his eyes as he processed her presence. He swung his long, muscular legs over the side of the bed, his bare feet touching the thick, plush carpet below.

"Vanessa..." Raphael said, sweeping his arm toward the grand pillars and the sweeping view of the domain outside. "The castle... it actually built all of this while I was out?"

Vanessa stood up from her chair in one fluid, graceful motion, holding her staff loosely at her side as she bowed her head in respect.

"The System executed your command the moment you lost consciousness, Lord Raphael," she explained softly, gesturing toward the grand window.

"The Dungeon Core integrated the mid-tier materials flawlessly. The central island has been completely remade into your personal stronghold. The outer perimeter wall is secure, the throne hall is restored, and the domain’s atmospheric pressure has been permanently stabilized under your authority."

Raphael stood up to his full six-foot-seven height, testing his weight.

To his complete astonishment, the excruciating pain in his ribs, the burning lacerations across his shoulders, and the deep muscular fatigue were completely gone. His body felt lighter, stronger, and more explosive than it ever had before. His core hummed with a deep, steady current of pure Sovereign mana that felt twice as dense as it had been before he stepped through the portal.

He walked over to the grand window, resting his pale palm against the cool, dark stone frame as he looked out over his new kingdom.

Floating in the endless purple twilight were the surrounding islands, connected by massive, secure iron chains that swayed peacefully in the breeze. At the center of it all stood his fortress, an unyielding, black-stone citadel built from the ashes of a conquered realm.

A slow, cold smile touched Raphael’s lips beneath the shadow of his dark bangs.

The Bureau was out there, hunting empty streets for a ghost. But in here, far beyond their reach, a true ruler had finally taken his seat.

He turned towards Vanessa, his eyes glowing slightly.

"How do you know about the system and how it works?" he asked, causing her expression to falter for a second.
