Chapter 437: Chapter 437: I’m Not the One You Should Ask

Everyone present was taken aback by Milton Lambert’s public display of affection, and after a moment, they all burst into laughter. The viewers in the live stream chat simultaneously spammed the bullet comments with the words, "Lovesick and Henpecked."

Arabella Donovan chuckled along with them for a moment, but then her expression turned serious. "From the look of your face, there are no problems between you and your wife. It’s your parents, on the other hand..."

The smile on Milton Lambert’s face froze instantly. "What about my parents?"

"The part of your face that corresponds to your parents is dim, and the sun and moon points are slightly sunken. Your complexion there is dark and stagnant, which indicates that one of your parents has recently been suffering from some illness and is not in good health."

Milton Lambert’s face turned white as a sheet. He and his father had been at odds for years, and even with his wife trying to mediate, they rarely spoke.

He was, however, always in touch with his mother, and he hadn’t heard her mention either of them being sick recently. But he couldn’t rule out the possibility that they were hiding it from him so he wouldn’t worry.

At this thought, Milton Lambert grew restless, itching to slip away and call his parents.

Arabella Donovan saw right through him and offered a calming word. "I know you’re worried, but try to stay calm. While those points on your forehead are somewhat dark, it’s not at a critical stage yet. This means your parents are ill, but it isn’t severe. If you’re really worried, just take them for a check-up and treatment when you get back. The primary concern right now is your daughter."

At the mention of his daughter, Milton Lambert shuddered. "What’s wrong with my daughter? Don’t tell me she’s also..."

Before he could finish his sentence, his phone rang. He glanced down. Of course, it was his wife.

He knew exactly why she was calling at this moment. Milton Lambert put the call on speakerphone so his wife could hear everything clearly.

"Hmm, would it be convenient to give me your child’s birth details? You can just type it into your phone and let me see."

"One moment, please." It was Milton Lambert’s wife on the phone. She quickly texted the child’s full birth date and time to her husband’s phone.

Arabella took the phone, and the cameraman nearby consciously took a few steps back to ensure he didn’t accidentally film the screen’s contents.

Arabella glanced at the screen, then began making calculations with her fingers. A flicker of understanding crossed her eyes.

"Your child was born with the element of Wood. She thrives when she encounters Water, but encountering Fire could be dangerous. This year is a year of calamity for her, a year when she is especially prone to disaster. You must be extra careful about this."

Milton Lambert swallowed hard. A fortune-teller he consulted when his daughter was little had indeed said her birth chart was dominated by the Wood element. He’d warned them against names with Fire radicals and suggested one with Water instead. That’s why he and his wife had spent several nights racking their brains before finally settling on a name containing the character "淼," which is made of three Water symbols.

"What would happen if she accidentally came into contact with fire?"

"The child is right here, so I don’t want to be too blunt, but I’m sure you understand what I’m implying, right?"

As soon as Arabella said this, the couple’s hearts sank. They fell silent, not daring to say another word, though in reality, they were already being consumed by terror and panic.

Seeing Arabella fall silent, as if she had nothing more to say, Milton Lambert asked Hector Donovan to watch his child for a moment and then hurried out of the courtyard to make a phone call.

The atmosphere at the dinner table instantly froze. The others looked at Arabella Donovan with curiosity, their eyes revealing a hint of temptation, but no one dared to be the first to speak up.

Hector Donovan looked from one person to another, then finally decided to break the awkward silence himself.

"Is there something you all want to ask my sister? Opportunity knocks but once. It only favors the prepared. This is a limited-time offer, folks. Once it’s gone, it’s gone."

Everyone: ’...’ ’Why does that sound like a cheap pyramid scheme sales pitch?’

The main reason Hector Donovan was egging them on was for the juicy gossip on Dylan Dawson. ’The torment of knowing there’s a huge story to be heard but not being able to hear it is truly unbearable.’

’If I don’t get to hear this gossip today, I feel like I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and slap myself twice, staring at a lonely lamp until dawn. Could anything be more tragic?’

Faye Collins and the others were unaware of his sinister motives and were actually starting to be swayed by his words.

The first to make a move was Serena Taylor. He called out to Arabella Donovan, a bit awkwardly, "Um, Serena..."

"You want to ask about your career, don’t you?"

"Yes!"

Serena Taylor’s eyes lit up, and his conviction in Arabella Donovan, who had seen what he wanted at a single glance, grew a little stronger.

"Let’s put it this way: your career luck has been decent. You became famous at a young age and were successful for a time. But times have changed, and you’re now forced to face difficult choices and compromises in your career."

Serena Taylor swallowed, his throat suddenly feeling exceptionally dry. He was, in fact, struggling with how to transition his career.

Judging by Serena Taylor’s current appearance, you could tell he had been a classically handsome man in his youth, with the full forehead and strong jawline considered ideal. That was how he’d managed to fight his way through an entertainment industry teeming with handsome men to reach the peak of his career.

However, no one can stay popular forever. More than a decade had passed, and the industry was flooded with new blood. Aesthetic trends had also changed drastically. As a result, Serena Taylor became a has-been, gradually falling into the awkward predicament of having no roles to play and no offers to consider.

A decade or so ago, Serena Taylor would never have participated in a reality show like this.

In his mind, an actor only needed to act well. Participating in such a show would only waste his time and distract him. He would have rather spent that time reading a script a few more times to better understand a character’s personality and motivations.

But the reality was, he couldn’t even get a role anymore, so what scripts were there for him to study?

Many friends who knew of his plight urged him to leave the industry and find a new path, but Serena Taylor himself couldn’t bring himself to make that decision.

He had been doing this for one or two decades; it was something he did with practiced ease. For his skills to suddenly become useless inevitably left him feeling lost and confused about the future.

In other words, he had been in his comfort zone for so long that he couldn’t accept the idea of giving up everything he had and starting over.

Serena Taylor struggled internally for a long while before finally asking the question that weighed most heavily on his mind: "So what do you think... what choice should I make?"

"I’m not the right person to ask that question."

Serena Taylor was stunned. "Not... you?"

"Your career path is not one of smooth sailing; it reaches a crossroads in middle age, caused by a combination of factors, including your environment. However, your fortune in marriage is excellent. The ’Marriage Palace’ on your face is full and bright, and it complements your ’Career Palace.’ This indicates you have a capable wife who is a pillar of your household. She is not only your emotional anchor at home but also your right-hand woman and spiritual support in your career."

"She is the person who understands you best in this world, the one who knows what you need and what you’re suited for." ’And what am I? Just a stranger passing through, with no real connection to him. How could I possibly be the one to make a decision that will affect his entire future?’
