Chapter 742: Chapter 742: Let’s Just Call You ’Piss Off Your Dad

The 22nd, Sunny

I had stir-fried green beans with pork today. The deaf girl’s cooking is amazing, but I was actually craving braised pork. It’s a shame she can’t hear me.

Oh, right. Has it been a long time since I celebrated my birthday? I’m kind of craving cake.

-

The 23rd, Sunny

My stomach hurt again today. I don’t know what’s wrong. I’m so scared I won’t be able to protect the baby by myself. But why am I protecting *his* baby, anyway? He doesn’t care.

-

The 24th, Overcast

I’m sort of thinking about writing a will.

-

The 25th, Light Rain

I wonder how Mr. Rhodes is doing. I hope he wakes up soon. I owe him so much.

-

The 26th, Heavy Rain

By the time you come into this world, I’ll probably be gone. Baby, please remember, it’s not that Mommy doesn’t love you, it’s that I’m not worthy of being your mother.

When you grow up, don’t be like your father. He’s not a good person.

...

「Meanwhile, at the hospital.」

The door to the delivery room finally opened!

Adrian Quincy walked over excitedly. "Doctor, how is my wife?"

The doctor said with a pleasant surprise, "Congratulations, Mr. Quincy. Miss Sinclair gave birth to a boy, six pounds even."

Adrian Quincy’s interest waned when he heard it was a boy. He asked for permission, "May I go in and see my wife?"

"Of course. Miss Sinclair is still under observation. Please change into scrubs before you go in. The baby is in there, too. The little guy looks just like you."

Adrian Quincy nodded and hurried to change before going in.

When he reached her bedside and saw his wife’s wan and pale face, his heart twisted as if stabbed by a knife. He quickly reached out and took her small hand. "Claire."

Claire Sinclair’s voice was hoarse as she said, "Adrian, I just heard the doctor announce the time. It’s not yet 12 o’clock. There’s still a little time. You should go."

Adrian Quincy frowned slightly. "Claire, you need me."

Claire Sinclair replied weakly, "But the citizens of the entire country need you more. Don’t lose to Ethan Kingsley. I don’t want you to lose."

Adrian Quincy fell silent.

Claire Sinclair pleaded, "I’m fine now. Hurry and go. I’m begging you."

Gazing into his wife’s pleading, tear-filled eyes, Adrian Quincy couldn’t bear it. He slowly leaned down, placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, and said softly, "Get some rest. I’ll be back."

"Good luck," Claire Sinclair said, cheering him on.

Adrian Quincy shot to his feet and walked out.

Claire Sinclair slowly turned her head to look at the little baby lying under observation nearby and sighed helplessly.

’That man... Just how much does he dislike having a boy? He came in and didn’t even glance at his own son.’

’Forget it. If he won’t dote on his own son, I will.’

"Baby, maybe I should just name you ’Piss-Off-Your-Dad.’ Look, he’s completely ignoring you."

She even found herself amusing after saying that and let out a small laugh.

’I wonder what the situation is at The Presidential Palace. What if Ethan Kingsley’s vote count is way ahead of Adrian’s? What will happen then?’

-

According to Aridian tradition, all candidates had to report to The Presidential Palace before 12 o’clock on election day to qualify for their campaign speech.

Just when everyone thought Adrian Quincy was going to withdraw from the election, his face finally appeared on the big screen.

Sovereign Plaza instantly erupted.

"Adrian Quincy! Adrian Quincy! Adrian Quincy!"

"We support Adrian Quincy!"

"Adrian Quincy, we love you!"

The rally was comparable to a celebrity concert—passionate and electrifying, with waves of sound growing ever louder.

Adrian Quincy stood at the podium, his hawk-like gaze fixed ahead. His commanding presence, like an ocean accepting a hundred rivers, seemed to cloak the land in an aura of righteousness.

He lowered his head slightly to the microphone and, in a captivating voice, said, "Everyone, I am Adrian Quincy."
