I Married the President
Chapter 710: My Brother is Just That Badass
Chapter 710: Chapter 710: My Brother is Just That Badass
Adrian Quincy hung up the phone, an irrepressible smile spreading across his lips. He excitedly hugged his wife. "Claire, my mother’s been rescued."
"That’s wonderful!" Claire Sinclair also smiled in excitement.
’Now that his mother has been rescued, I can finally clear my name after enduring all this slander. The issue he’s been worried about for so long can finally be resolved, and we can start getting rid of the people who are threatening us!’
’This is absolutely wonderful!’
Just then, Helen Wallace and Faye Dean walked over from another area.
The 4D color ultrasound was more time-consuming. Faye Dean’s appointment, however, was just a routine check-up, so she had finished quickly.
Claire Sinclair immediately asked, "Faye, how did it go?"
Faye Dean chuckled. "Everything’s normal! My mom was right—as long as we eat and drink properly, the baby will be fine."
Claire Sinclair smiled. "Everything’s normal with me, too."
Helen Wallace had no interest in joining the two pregnant women’s conversation. She glanced at Adrian Quincy’s face and, noticing he looked unusually excited, asked, "What are you so happy about?"
"It’s nothing. Let’s go." ℓ.
"How are we getting back?"
They had planned their arrival meticulously, but they hadn’t planned how they would leave.
Without another word, Adrian Quincy swept his wife up into his arms. He turned to the aide following them with a blanket and said, "Bring the blanket over."
The aide immediately handed the blanket to Helen Wallace.
Helen Wallace instantly understood her brother’s intentions. She quietly placed the backpack she’d brought over Claire Sinclair’s stomach. The bag had been bulging on their way in, but she had since taken out the scrap paper stuffed inside and thrown it away, leaving the backpack flat.
Claire Sinclair rested her hands on top of the backpack, and Helen Wallace proceeded to drape the blanket over her lap, covering her stomach.
This way, no one would be able to tell she was pregnant.
Faye Dean raised an eyebrow. "Is he planning on just carrying Claire out of here like that?"
Helen Wallace grinned proudly. "That’s my brother for you—always so dramatic. Heh heh heh..."
Faye Dean said, "He’s trying to make every single person on the planet jealous, isn’t he..."
The moment Adrian Quincy walked out of the hospital carrying his wife, the paparazzi and reporters who had been held at bay swarmed forward. But when they saw it was Adrian Quincy, almost no one dared to approach, keeping their distance and just watching from afar.
Given Adrian Quincy’s status, no one was permitted to approach him without cause; otherwise, the guards in his security detail could open fire at any time with full immunity.
When they got a clear look at the person in his arms, the paparazzi froze for a second before frantically raising their DSLR cameras to take pictures, shouting questions as they did. "Young Master Quincy, Claire Sinclair’s criminal case hasn’t been closed. Isn’t this an abuse of your authority?"
Adrian Quincy stopped short. He looked up at the crowd, his gaze as cold and deep as a frozen lake.
The crowd fell silent, not daring to say another word. They held their breath, waiting for him to speak.
Adrian Quincy’s voice was dangerously low. "The Quincy Family’s foundations are deep. Even though my generation hasn’t gone into commerce, the fortune left to us by our ancestors is enough to last for several lifetimes. Who told you that my woman would be hurting for a hundred million?"
At his words, the world seemed to fall silent.
After a few seconds, one reporter dared to ask, "But some people are never satisfied with what they have. The allegations that Claire Sinclair embezzled company funds have spread all over the internet, and the case remains unsolved. How do you explain that?"
Adrian Quincy’s voice was deep and cutting. "This case was clarified 56 days ago. The one hundred million was transferred into Claire’s account by mistake by a bank employee, and the full amount was transferred back to said bank that very same day. Instead of going to the bank to get your facts straight, you come here every day to harass her. What is your motive?"
