Ivy Tanner couldn’t help but ask, "Don’t you have to work?"

Claire Sinclair smiled and stroked her belly. "I’m just like you. I’m going to be a mom."

"Wow!" Ivy Tanner was stunned, then delighted. "You should have told me sooner! Now I don’t feel like I’m going through this all by myself!"

Claire Sinclair was infected by her smile, and her mood brightened. "From now on, we can swap parenting tips."

"Mhm!" Ivy Tanner nodded emphatically.

Claire Sinclair glanced at the time. It was getting late, so she said to Lucas Rhodes, "Mr. Rhodes, I can’t keep her out too long. We should be heading back now."

Lucas Rhodes looked at Ivy Tanner and said, "If you don’t mind, let me take Iris home. You can stay and have a few drinks with him."

He finished by jutting his chin toward Theo Rhodes.

Claire Sinclair looked at Ivy Tanner, then at Theo Rhodes. After a moment’s thought, she nodded. "Alright. Ivy, you go home with him."

’If I’ve chosen to build a family with this man, I have to start trusting him now,’ Ivy Tanner thought. ’Otherwise, there’s no point in going on.’

And just like that, Ivy Tanner left with Lucas Rhodes.

Claire Sinclair glanced at Theo Rhodes and ordered, "Theo, get me a small glass of red wine."

"Master, you’re going to drink?"

"Mhm." Claire Sinclair nodded.

Theo Rhodes eagerly scampered down to his uncle’s wine cellar and brought up a treasured bottle of red wine. He said excitedly, "Master, this is my uncle’s private stash! Let’s drink it on the sly so he doesn’t find out."

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "Aren’t you afraid he’ll beat you?"

"What’s there to be afraid of? I’ve got my Master to back me up."

"Alright, then. Don’t mind if I do."

"Hehehe..." Theo Rhodes chuckled smugly, found a corkscrew, and poured a small glass of red wine for Claire Sinclair before filling his own to the top.

Claire Sinclair took a token sip. She didn’t have strong feelings about wine and couldn’t appreciate its subtleties, so she remarked, "Letting someone like me who doesn’t know wine drink this bottle is a real waste."

"It’s not a waste! My uncle has tons more in his cellar. Master, if you like it, I’ll move the whole cellar to your place, hehe..."

"That’s enough. I was just talking." Claire Sinclair took another sip, but just as she was about to take a third, Landon Winston suddenly reached out and snatched the glass away.

"Young Madam. No thirds."

Claire Sinclair looked back at him, her eyebrows raised. "Not even three sips?"

"Young Master Quincy’s orders."

"How would he know...?" Before Claire Sinclair could finish, her eyes landed on the Bluetooth headset in Landon Winston’s ear.

’Figures. This guy must be giving The Great Demon King Quincy a live report on me.’

"This is no fun. I’m not drinking anymore. Theo, I’ll just watch you."

"Alright, Master! It’s time you saw how much I can drink."

Claire Sinclair smiled faintly. She was actually rather looking forward to it.

In the blink of an eye, the bottle of red wine was empty, yet Theo Rhodes’s face showed no sign of intoxication. Claire Sinclair checked the time again; it was about time to leave. She said, "In a minute, you’re going to help me walk out of here."

Theo Rhodes was confused. "Why do I need to help you?"

Claire Sinclair jutted her chin toward the people behind them. "I don’t know how many people are watching me, but we have to put on a show."

Theo Rhodes muttered under his breath, "I don’t get those people. They have to make everything so complicated."

Claire Sinclair said, "Come on, you get up first."

"Okay!" Theo Rhodes stood up first, walked over to her, and helped her to her feet.

Claire Sinclair pretended to be drunk, closing her eyes and staggering out. As she passed through the front yard where the party was being held, she drew quite a few stares.
