The Demigod monsters stopped watching after that. They felt like Night was the greatest threat and attacked him, ignoring the other humans.

?Night looked at this and smiled. He then used another mouth that had the ability to split things. He called it the ’Splitter’; it was a simple one, considering all it could do was split things.

?Earlier, when Night had gotten bored of sparring with [Dream], he had taken a small tea break where all his clones drank tea.

?Looking at the hundred clones he had felt bad for troubling Lilith and Eve by asking them to make tea for him, and he was about to dismiss the clones for the break, but the maids had looked so happy sporting ear-splitting grins while serving tea to a hundred Nights, that he didn’t bother.

’As long as they were happy’

?At that time, he had been looking through some of the abilities of the mouths he had already seen, and he paused upon spotting the mouth with a splitting skill.

?It was a simple skill that allowed it to become two mouths from one, and then four mouths from two. This ability had no limit other than a reduction in size with each split.

?Alone, this was a pretty weak ability, but when he combined it with ’Nightmare Devour’?

?Something like this happened.

?’Nightmare Devour’ split into thousands of small mouths, and a blackish-purple beam started to gather in each of them. For a second, the monsters rushing toward him paused.

?He had already warned Sara, so she, Arthur, and Jeffy immediately teleported above Night. It was the only place he had not split the mouths, and it was for a good reason.

?With Splitter, all of ’Nightmare Devour’ multiplied and used the Ender’s ability, ’Death Ray,’ all at once.

?For a second, the mist that had been covering them turned completely blackish-purple.

?It was as if a star had appeared on the battlefield. Thousands of Death Rays were fired at once. The Demigod monsters immediately used defensive skills, while some of them used attack skills to counter.

?It was a basic tactic: sometimes, a good attack worked as the best defense.

?As for the flies? He had already commanded them to hide behind these monsters, taking advantage of their defenses to survive...

?Above Night, the others didn’t stand still either. All three of them simultaneously unleashed the most destructive Area of Effect attacks they had.

?Arthur raised his sword, and the sword intent surrounding the city moved, turning into countless small swords that followed the Death Rays and attacked.

?Meanwhile, Jeffy held his huge hammer high up like Thor would in the movies like he was about to bring down lightning but changed the script by swinging it down.

As he did, a huge phantom hammer, even larger than the Dream City appreared above the city, it blocked the sky; literally.

?The phantom hammer looked ancient, otherworldly and carried a timeless aura; it looked like a weapon forged for a God, it was covered in runes that glowed crimson and it swung down as well following Jeffy’s moment.

This was definitely not an attack a Mortal Realm Awakener was supposed to do.

?As the hammer reached the mist covering the battlefield, the mist was blown away like it didn’t even exist.

?The hammer struck right after the small swords Arthur had launched.

?Jeffy’s massive attack forced the flies to change their plan on the fly and hide below the monsters instead of behind them.

?Following them, Sara cast a simple spell, but considering the situation, it couldn’t have been any better.

?’Berserker’s Rage.’

?The spell was something normally used to boost a warrior’s might in a heated battle to give an edge and it was now being used to enhance their attacks beyond their limits.

?As it took effect, the Death Rays, the small swords, and the phantom hammer all glowed an eerie red.

?BOOM! Boom! Boom! Boom! Booooooommmmm!

?As the attacks from the Demigod monsters and Night’s group collided, the sky shone like millions of firecrackers bursting all at once.

From afar it looked beautiful and colourful.

?The clouds within thousands of miles vanished, and the ground outside the Dream City was scorched black. Some of the shockwaves even reached the others standing far away from the Dream City.

?But they were easily blocked by Rango, who just wanted to flaunt his regained strength with a casual wave of his paw.

?The smoke had yet to clear, but Night saw through his flies that most of the Demigod monsters had survived.

?Since they had been prepared for the attack this time, they held on, though many of them had taken heavy damage and some had even died.

?Still, Night was not disappointed.

Demigod beings were not weak; if such a head-on attack were enough to wipe them all out, Victor and the other Vampires wouldn’t have been running around with their backsides burnt.

?Earlier, Night’s group had just been lucky that the monsters got careless and underestimated them as normal Mortal Realm weaklings.

?Now that they had stopped underestimating them, the battle would become infinitely harder.

?Besides, the goal had never been to kill them all at once. Looking at Arthur and Jeffy, who were now glowing with a bright white light, he guessed his true goal had already been achieved.

?Though only a handful of Demigod Monster’s has been killed, even with shared exp, the EXP they must have gotten was already more than enough, and finally, both of them had begun ascending to the Demigod Realm.

Once they ascended the win would be definitely theirs.

?Sara flew down to Night as he parted the Nightmare Mist for her.

?Sara sighed, "If not for that stupid quest, we would also be Demigods by now..."

?Night looked at her with a sorrowful expression.

Night, ’Aaa her ignorance is sad yet amusing...’

He knew that even if he were allowed to level up, the chances of him reaching the Demigod Realm with twelve summons was a dream so distant he didn’t even want to think about it.

?Night knew basic math: 1 him + 12 summons = 13 people. That meant he needed at least thirteen times more EXP than what others needed, and that wasn’t even counting how people with higher talent needed way more EXP than normal.

And according to the pesky system his talent was higher than anything this Cosmos was supposed to have for some reason.

He could only guess why was the reason...

Night, ’With time all the mysteries and unknown will be known’

?Also the last time he checked, all of his friends were abnormal as well. Even Lilith and Eve were abnormal; they had literally been normal robots before.

?Night started no wanting her to have to high hopes with system and its stupid levels, "About that, I doubt..."

?But then, something funny happened. It was something he really should have expected, yet it caught him off guard anyway.

?Arthur and Jeffy, who had been glowing like cheap lightbulbs, suddenly disappeared just like Zora had.

?Night: "_"

Sara: "_"

Demigod Monsters: "_"

?Night deadpanned, "I am starting to think the System is doing this on purpose...."

?Sara nodded beside him, her face as stormy as the clouds of smoke around them.

?Night muttered, "I think in my last life, I must have cheated on it..."

?Night thought, ’Only something like that could make a "fair System" target me like this.’

?Sara agreed, "You must have cheated on it with another cuter System..."

System Girl secretly held her cheeks ’awww...’

?While the banter was funny, the remaining Demigod monsters were now looking at them like dead meat.

Worse, the smoke and dust around them had almost cleared up, making them easy targets.

?The next moment, he felt the flies he had sent out starting to die off to the Demigod monsters.

?Though unwilling, he still recalled them. Thousands of the surviving flies swarmed back like locusts and gathered around him and Sara.

?He threw them back into the ’Mother Fly’ mouth; this time, he would give them a much better ability...

Sucking blood was good ability but it didn’t fit the current situation...

?Meanwhile, the Demigod monsters began closing in on their position.

?Sara sighed looking at the small array. "It’s not finished yet," she muttered, though it had not reached her desired perfection, she still waved her hand, and a huge array appeared with her at the center.

?’Spatial Disorder.’

?That was the name of the array she had been setting up all this time. Its range was not very large, it barely covered an eighth of the Dream City, but it was a special array that grew stronger the more space was being manipulated in a particular area.

?And surprise, surprise: a massive city merger was happening right below them. Safe to say, more than enough space was being manipulated here.

?Night watched as a huge gorilla with five eyes leaped toward them like a meteoroid, only to suddenly veer off halfway and smash straight into a huge, winged yellow snake.

The exact same thing happened to a black deer; instead of reaching them with its dash, it crashed right into another winged tiger similar to the one they had just killed.

?The same thing happened to all the other monsters that tried to rush them.

?Though not all of the Demigod monsters failed. Two of them managed to break through and reach them: one was a humanoid monster with a goat’s head, and the other was a manticore.

?Night and Sara prepared themselves. ’Nightmare Devour’ spat the flies back out, and now each of them had the ’Death Ray’ ability attached to them.

?Both of the Demigod monsters roared and charged at them. The humanoid goat had a violent storm covering its body, looking like an elemental being with a physical body, while the manticore followed closely behind it with lightning gathered on its legs.

?The flies around them all shot out miniature Death Rays. The humanoid goat tanked them head-on, while the manticore nimbly dodged.

?Then, lightning shot out from the manticore’s stinger from a distance before it charged in again, this time covered in a crackling lightning cloak.

?’Earth Wall.’

?A huge earthen wall appeared in mid-air as Sara cast a defensive spell.

?The lightning was blocked, but the humanoid goat, which had already reached them, pulled back its fist and smashed it forward.

?Boom!

?The Earth Wall crumbled like dust.

?Sara clicked her tongue and immediately cast two offensive spells.

?’Lava Release’! ’Mythril Spears’!

?Both of the attack spells hit the storm swirling around the humanoid goat. The boiling lava dispersed the storm, and the spears struck the humanoid goat directly.

?Pierce! Pierce! Pierce!

?The humanoid goat ended up looking like a porcupine. While this happened, the manticore reached them, only to be blocked by Night.

?Standing protectively in front of Sara, his fist covered in a dense ball of the Wind of Desolation, Night blocked the lightning-clad claw of the manticore.

?Night was unmoved, while the manticore was forced back two steps in mid-air.

?The manticore’s pupils constricted in shock, while Night, who was pupilless, simply stared back.
