Night didn’t underestimate her. Most of his clones created a weapon; some held a copy of Blade, while others formed weapons like staffs, gloves, hammers, and one even held a huge paintbrush.

?The remaining clones used skills like fireballs, ice bullets, and some even weaponized Nightmare Mist, taking the training very seriously.

?Since he was inside his Inner Universe, the mental load on him from using so many different forms of attack was negligible.

?Dream smiled at this. She moved slowly at the start to give him some time to prepare. When she saw all of them were ready, she dove in.

?Right now, she only had the strength of a mundane mortal as well, with her control it was quite easy for her to suppress her strength.

?One of Night’s clones attacked her with a blade. She simply sidestepped and thrust her rapier, poking a neat hole right through his head in response. The clone died before it even knew what had happened.

?Seeing how ruthlessly she attacked, the other clones immediately attacked her simultaneously.

?Dream cut straight through a fireball, ducked to avoid a greatsword aimed at her head, and at the same time blocked a spear aimed at her blind spot, parrying it flawlessly with her rapier.

?Then she attacked the clone with the spear. Reaching the clone like a snake, she poked a hole straight through its neck. A split second later, she kicked the clone that had tried to sneak a dagger into her gut in the nuts.

?The clone literally saw stars as its nuts cracked. Tears flooded its eyes, and the sheer disbelief on its face was palpable.

?All the other Night clones around her felt the phantom pain just looking at it.

?Dream used this gap to kill five more clones. Her hands moved like an blur as she put holes in their heads, necks, and hearts. She always targeted the vitals for a easy kill.

?The clones quickly recovered and attacked her from every angle possible.

?Dream wasn’t fazed. Any long-range attack, she would cut in half, or simply dodge it. In close range, all the attacks would be effortlessly blocked and countered perfectly.

?One time, Night used an Earth skill to attack from below her, only to get headshotted by the rapier the moment he appeared above ground.

?Night finally realized how badly he was losing, so he gave up playing it safe and started tossing Area of Effect skills, not caring if any of his clones got caught in the crossfire.

?But somehow, every single time, Dream would move away using some kind of movement that didn’t even look like a skill at all. So the AoE attacks only ended up helping her trim down his numbers.

?But Night was not going to give up easily. He tried every possible way he could to hit her, but in the end, he settled for just trying to at least touch her robe once.

?But Dream denied even that by severing his clones’ hands every time he tried that.

?Still, the fight was not without its benefits.

Night’s coordination and synergy greatly improved as the fight went on. He felt his overall fighting style become much more refined. He saw were the most significant improvements in his command over Nightmare Mist, Nightmare Fire, and the Wind of Desolation.

?Dream only stopped when there was only one clone left.

?Throughout the entire fight, Dream had only used the simple rapier. Night didn’t see her use a single skill or even a technique, for that matter.

?All she used was her mastery over her weapon and, much more importantly, over her own body.

?Dream looked at Night calmly. "Now do you understand?"

?Night looked at her in pure awe. "Yes..."

?Dream nodded. "Tell me exactly what you understood."

?Night looked at her with starry eyes. "You look so incredibly beautiful when you fight with a rapier.... I want to wield a rapier just like you... Please teach me..."

?Dream’s eyes twitched. "That was all you understood?"

?Night shook his head.

?Dream asked with a glimmer of hope, "What else?"

?Night said seriously, "Never let an enemy hit you in the balls."

?System Girl: "_"

?Dream sighed in defeat. It was her own fault for expecting far too much.

?She blinked in front of Night and boinked him on the head with the hilt of the rapier.

?"What was that for...?" Night rubbed his head in injustice.

?Dream thought, It’s my fault. I should have just said it directly instead.

Not everyone learns the same way.

?Dream clarified, "What I meant was, it’s not necessary for you to hunt for countless skills to become stronger. In front of a truly skilled opponent, the number of skills and aspects you have is meaningless."

?Night exclaimed, "Ohh, that. I got that the moment you killed my first five clones!"

?Dream looked at him speechlessly. "Then you should have just said it."

?Night, still rubbing the spot she had boinked him, said, "I didn’t think I had to mention something so obvious..."

?Dream paused. Maybe Night is too intelligent, so he just assumes everyone else is exactly like that too.

?I had attacked him ruthlessly this whole time, and he didn’t complain about it once. So his will is strong, and he is open-minded enough to understand exactly why it was done.

?Dream nodded inwardly and said, "Then we will get to the part I actually wanted you to focus on."

?Seeing Night looking at her expectantly, she continued.

?Dream explained, " For now you should focus on mastering your Nightmare-oriented abilities, like Nightmare Mist, Fire, and the Wind of Desolation. You should also try to learn some of the Dream aspect techniques."

?"In case you forgot, your talent in the Dream aspect is on the same level as your Nightmare aspect."

?Night immediately smacked his thigh, cursing himself for forgetting about that. Especially when he recalled the harrowing pain he had gone through to even obtain the Dream aspect.

?He felt chills just remembering that day.

?Dream poked his cheek when she saw he was daydreaming.

?Night looked at her and said, "Yes, I’ll focus on both of them." He briefly wondered why she was not reading his thoughts.

?Dream stated, "I am reading it. It just feels so bland when you can say it out loud."

?Night asked, "So I should stop getting more skills and such from now on?"

?"No, dumbo," Dream sighed.

She boinked him again, but gently this time. "You should continue getting as many memories, skills, and aspects as possible. Just don’t enshrine them and forget what works best for you."

?"Having a huge arsenal guarantees diversity, but mastering a specific set of core skills is important if you wish to walk this path far."

?Night finally understood exactly what she meant.

?Dream commanded, "Now, enough talking. Come on, create more clones. We will now focus on the Nightmare aspects first, and once you have acceptable mastery over them, we will move to the Dream aspect."

?Night asked cautiously, "What exactly is ’acceptable mastery’ according to you?"

?Dream raised an eyebrow. "Why do you ask?"

?"Just asking..." Night mumbled.

?Dream smirked. "’Acceptable mastery’ is you being able to at least touch my robe."

?Night recalled the brutal fight and gulped when he understood just how difficult that was going to be....

?...

?When Night’s clone returned to the Dream City, he was warmly welcomed by Lilith, Eve, and a very enthusiastic Rango.

?Rango laughed. "I heard from Lilith how it went. I didn’t think you would actually end up befriending her."

?"Well, she is a good person," Night shrugged.

?Rango snickered. "The ones who actually died would beg to differ."

?"How are the others?" Night asked, he asking about Rango’s ’harem’.

?"They are still healing in my Soul Space," Rango sighed.

?"One of my friends should know some strong healing magic," Night offered. "I can ask her to help."

?"That would be completely great," Rango said.

?Lilith interjected, "Master, Zora wanted to speak to you. She said it’s urgent."

?Night nodded. "I’ll check with her."

?He sent Zora a telepathic message. "What happened?"

It was easy to connect with her in the Dream City, Night felt like Zora was literally everywhere in the city.

Night, It feel like some kind of complex Dream Aspect skill is always covering the city... 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

?Zora immediately replied, "Can we meet?"

?Night thought for a moment and asked, "Is it urgent?"

?Zora answered, "Yes. But if you want some time, we can wait."

?Night replied, "Sorry, I’ll come over in ten minutes tops."

?Zora agreed, "Sure."

?Night then called Sara over and asked her if she could help with Rango’s pack, and she agreed immediately.

?A blackish-purple portal opened, and Sara stepped right out.

?Sara smiled warmly at Night. Walking over, she looked directly at Rango and said as she ruffled Night’s hair,"I always wanted to thank you for helping Night that time. He would not have returned alive if not for your help."

?"Nah, it’s nothing," Rango waved a paw. "He looked so small, I just couldn’t bear to watch him die to their pathetic schemes."

?Sara thanked him again. "Where are the ones I need to heal?"

?Rango then backed up a little, and his ’harem’ appeared one by one. All of them looked like broken dolls, though they did look slightly better than the last time Night had seen them.

?Sara summoned her magic tome. From it, a green magic circle spread out, covering the room.

The room was bathed in green light.

?The effects were completely instant; the wounds on the wolves started healing at a visible rate.

?Rango whistled when he saw it.

?Night, Lilith, and Rango, who were standing within the range, felt warmth flood their bodies as well, giving them refreshing feeling.

?In five minutes, all of the wolves were completely healed.

?Rani sighed. "Thanks. It’s so good to feel like you have a working body instead of a totally broken mess."

?Another wolf also thanked her. "I am grateful. I can finally move without cursing my husband’s ancestors."

?Rango: "_"

?The wolves thanked Sara and Night, then they intimately gathered around Rango and rubbed their soft furs against him in happiness.

?Sara chuckled warmly. "You guys are sure a very ’loving’ group."

?Rango puffed out his chest. "How can they completely not love me? I am the single most handsome wolf in all of existence!!!"

?His boast was instantly cut off from a bite to his tail by Rani...

?Rango tried to run away, but the loving wolves held him in space.

?Rango screamed, "Let my tail completely go, you crazy woman...!"

?He looked desperately at where Night was to ask for help, only to see that they were already gone.

?"Traitors...." Rango cried.
