Chapter 193: How A True Mythical Terra Beast Fights

"Watch closely, Rai Rai~ I’ll teach you how true Mythical Terrans fight."

Ruby’s hundred-kilometre body of pure blood coiled once through the sky, and the very air around her turned thick and metallic, as if the whole battlefield had started breathing through her veins instead of its own lungs.

The Black Dragon King did not wait. He lunged forward with his claws wrapped in that same ink-black destruction, tearing another hole through space as he swiped toward her head.

But before his claw even reached her, Ruby’s tail casually flicked upward, and the blood beneath it rose to meet the attack without her needing to move her main body at all.

BOOM!!!

The claw shattered on contact. Shattered, like glass striking stone.

The King roared in disbelief, but Ruby’s voice cut through it, calm and almost bored.

"Watch closely Rai Rai~, let mee teachh you somethingg. Mostt Terra Beastss fightt withh strength. What separates Mythical ones from Terra Beasts beloww it is how theyy fight. Mythical ones fightt with conceptss."

Raiden stared up at her, frozen between terror and awe.

"Blood flowss inside every livingg thing," Ruby continued, her hiss stretching lazily even as another one of the King’s strikes came down and dissolved uselessly against her scales.

"Yourss. Hiss. Evenn thee ground, if youu countt what hass died on itt. Ass longg as something oncee bled, it belongs too mee."

The King’s frustration boiled over. He reared back and unleashed his breath attack again, the same world-ending torrent that had nearly ended Raiden minutes ago. This time it screamed across the sky as a river of collapsing darkness, wide enough to erase mountains.

Ruby didn’t dodge.

She opened her mouth instead, and the gigantic crimson python mirrored her moments as the attack simply vanished into her, swallowed whole like water pouring into an ocean that had no bottom.

"Destruction iss a good law," she said afterwards, sounding almost thoughtful. "Butt itt only ends things. Blood remainss after everything else is gonee. Thatt is the difference between our masteryy."

"W-what does that mean?" Raiden managed to ask, still gripping Woolie and Neva tightly against his chest. His heart pounded against his chest wildly.

"It meanss," Ruby said, "his usage off law iss still young. Mine hass had centuriess to grow."

The King’s eyes burned with humiliation now, more than fear. He surged forward again, faster this time, his massive body twisting through the air as dozens of destruction-veined claws tore into existence around him, all aimed at Ruby’s body from every direction at once.

Ruby’s response was simple.

"Bleed."

The word alone cracked the sky.

Every single one of those incoming claws, mid-flight, burst into streams of crimson.

Not blood from Ruby. Blood ripped directly out of the attacks themselves, as if she had reached into the very fabric of the technique and drained the life it never should have had. The attacks collapsed into harmless mist before they ever reached her.

The King’s roar turned into something closer to a scream.

"Impossible!! You cannot control something that isn’t alive!!"

"Everythingg that existss inn this world," Ruby said, coiling her enormous body slowly around him like a noose closing on prey too proud to admit it was already caught, "hass touchedd bloodd att somee pointt. Yourss. Mine. Thee groundd. Thee airr. Onee wayy orr anotherr, itt alll belongss too mee."

She gave an assuring look to Raiden before the big crimson python lunged.

The King barely managed to twist out of harm’s way, but not fast enough.

Ruby’s jaws closed around one of his wings, and the moment her fangs sank into his scales, dark blood sprayed outward, only for it to freeze mid-air and reverse direction, flowing back into her mouth instead of falling to the earth.

"AAAARGH!!!" the King screamed, thrashing wildly as visible veins of crimson crawled up his wing, spreading toward his chest like a plague.

Isadora watched with wide, delighted eyes. "She’s draining him," she whispered. "Not just his strength but his blood, His very concept."

She was very much delighted to see this. A fight between Mythical Terra Beasts was very rare, and this gave her a big opportunity to learn and take a step forward in that direction.

Yuna’s mouth had gone completely dry as she looked at how easily Ruby commanded that gigantic crimson phyton made up of Blood.

"This is not a fight anymore... This is something else!!! Everything Below Mythical is trash...I truly believe that statement now."

Raiden could only watch, speechless, as Ruby tightened her coils around the King’s massive body, her voice dropping into something colder and far less playful.

"Youu said youu killedd mee once." Her golden eyes narrowed, ancient and merciless. "Lett mee showw youu whyy thatt wass yourr biggestt mistakee."

Blood surged from every wound she had opened across his body, rising into the sky and gathering into massive spears the size of towers, each one glowing with a horrifying crimson light.

Dozens of them. Then hundreds. The King thrashed in her grip, his once-endless dominance reduced to helpless struggling as the primal terror in his throat finally became clear for everyone on the battlefield to hear.

"Wait— WAIT!! We can talk about this!! I was following orders!! It wasn’t personal, it was—"

"Talk," Ruby said, almost gently, "iss somethingg you should havee doone before youu triedd to kill my family."

The spears rained down.

Each spear nailed the Black Dragon King’s body into the ground, one after another, his voice growing more hoarse and painful by the minute.

And on the ruined battlefield below, Raiden could only whisper one thought over and over in his mind as he watched his family’s guardian tear apart a being that had terrorised the entire war zone only minutes earlier.

’Remind me to never, ever make Aunt Ruby angry.’

A cruel, almost maddened look appeared in Black Dragon’s eyes as he glared at Ruby.

"Since you insist on doing this, don’t blame me either. I will make sure to take you down with me, even if that’s the last thing I do, The Divine Blood Empress!!!"
