Chapter 503: Chapter 502: Respective Abilities

Donkexes casually pulled out a Gold Coin. "Will one of these do?"

The Bullywug king scrutinized the Gold Coin in his hand, then nodded. "We agree."

"So you’re just going to give money to these frogs?" Balende grumbled under his breath. "I’m not giving them a single copper!"

"You’re in the Blacksmith’s Guild now, so why are you still such a cheapskate?" Donkexes said, annoyed. "I’ll cover for you, alright? Getting out of this for only thirty Gold Coins is a bargain. If a fight breaks out and people get hurt, the cost would be far greater."

"My money is my money, and no one is taking it for some ridiculous reason!" Balende said, pointing at the ground. "What do you think I slaved away for those humans for?"

The old Dwarf’s expression was dead serious, like a Giant Dragon watching its hoard being plundered.

"I don’t think there’ll be any casualties," Kase said. "Besides, we could probably make some money off these frogs."

Colin said to Kase, "We’re just the escort. We should let them call the shots."

The Half-Orc snorted, displeased.

As the group was conversing in hushed tones, Colin noticed the Bullywug Knight who had led them there suddenly turn its head and say something to the king.

The next moment, the Bullywug king suddenly licked its lips.

"Well, I guess that settles it," Colin said.

"CROAK... We’ve changed Our mind." The Bullywug king’s throat sacs puffed out as it growled slowly. "Selling you to the White Dwarves should fetch far more shiny things. Seize them! Sell them!"

The Bullywug Knights and a large mob of Bullywugs behind him swarmed forward, ready to strike.

Seeing things go south, the Dwarves at the rear drew their weapons and charged forward.

A group of Bullywugs immediately split off to intercept the reinforcements.

Colin canceled his Disguise Technique, drawing Burning Blood as he tossed the Elf Giant Sword to Kase beside him.

With a flick of his wrist, Dorn produced a silver Spiritual Dagger.

Langgrin grabbed a strap under his neck and yanked. A thick iron plate woven into his beard clattered to the ground, and Donkexes beside him immediately began Casting.

The iron plate on the ground began to glow red-hot, as if it had been tossed into a blazing furnace.

Then, its shape began to shift, slowly morphing into an iron axe and an iron hammer.

Colin immediately recognized the Tier Five Magic: Ghostly Craft. The spell could directly transform raw materials into finished products; the more powerful the craftsman, the more skillfully they could wield it.

Langgrin picked up the iron Battle Axe.

Meanwhile, the Gloves on his other hand crackled with electricity. The Armor Plates of the Gloves floated around his palm, coalescing into a lightning-wreathed gauntlet.

Durkin, for his part, picked up the iron hammer and began to chant a Spell. Silver threads appeared, dancing in the air before him. They intertwined and tangled, outlining the external shape and internal structure of a Hand Cannon.

He swung the hammer forcefully, striking the silver threads before him.

With a sharp DING, the silver threads instantly solidified into a massive Hand Cannon.

Durkin casually tossed the iron hammer to the unarmed Orelia.

The Tiefling then began chanting a prayer, summoning an additional Spiritual Weapon to float in the air beside her.

Of the nine people who had arrived empty-handed, six were now armed. The remaining three were the Casters, who didn’t need weapons, and Balende, who couldn’t fight.

This entire process took only about six seconds.

"They smuggled in weapons! Cheaters! Scoundrels!" the Bullywug king shrieked, his mouth wide in fury.

Colin gripped Burning Blood, watching the charging Bullywugs.

Despite having a Specialty that allowed him to cast without incantations, he subconsciously began to chant the Spell.

Colin placed his hand on the cover of his Spellbook. Cupping his palm like a claw, he slowly lifted it, drawing out a glob of dark green acid.

With a flick of his wrist, the acid exploded amidst the Bullywug ranks.

Hissing white vapor rose with the pained screams of the Bullywugs, and a huge gap was torn open in their battle line.

"If the Bullywug king is killed by an intruder, the one who avenges him becomes the next king!" Colin shouted. "So it’s up to you all how far you want to take this!"

As Colin shouted, Donkexes dropped to one knee, pressing both hands to the ground.

As he chanted the Spell, a faint Magic Radiance spread across the ground. The charging Bullywugs stumbled to a halt, then fell in unison. The mud beneath their feet had transformed into a stone slab several centimeters thick, trapping their ankles.

Langgrin raised his Battle Axe, his Armor now traced with patterns of purple lightning.

The Bullywug king was hastily climbing down from his trapped giant frog mount when the water beneath him began to vibrate violently. The king’s and his surrounding Bullywug Knights’ eyes rolled back in their heads as bright red blood trickled from the corners of their mouths.

Colin instantly recognized the familiar spell: Shatter.

But a spell of this level wasn’t powerful enough to finish off the Bullywug king.

Just then, Ale waved her hand. Three golden Scorching Rays shot from her palm, leaving three blackened craters on the Bullywug king’s white belly.

The fat frog keeled over, its belly turned to the sky.

"CROAK!" "CROAK!" "CROAK!"

The surrounding Bullywugs erupted in a unified chorus of croaks. Those not trapped by the Transmute Rock spell charged forward like madmen, while the ensnared ones struggled frantically.

"These guys have some guts!" Langgrin said, tightening his grip on his Battle Axe.

"I wouldn’t call it ’guts.’ Didn’t you hear what I said earlier?" Colin asked with a frown.

Langgrin cut down a Bullywug with a backhand swing. "Heard you. I just want to kill them all."

"Langgrin, are you out of your mind?" Donkexes said, then began Casting, flicking out a Flaming Arrow. "We’d like to conserve our Magic and save our strength in case of an emergency. Can you guys handle this?"

"No problem," Colin said, giving Burning Blood a little flourish.

"I hope these things have a lot of money back home," Kase said, then immediately flew into a Frenzy.

At that moment, the Bullywugs at the rear, who had been outside the spell’s range, also leaped into the fray.

Their jumping ability was terrifying; each leap carried them nearly three meters into the air.

Ale raised both hands and thrust them toward the leaping Bullywugs.

The filthy water on the ground rapidly gathered into a three-meter-high tidal wave that crashed toward the Bullywugs. The terrifying wave swept them up and carried them forward before slamming them violently into the ground.

When the spray subsided, the Bullywugs lay on the ground in horribly twisted positions. None that had been caught in the wave would ever stand again.
