Chapter 483: Chapter 482: Reversing the Disadvantage

This was followed by several more tearing sounds.

Colin looked up to see other parts of the tent being hacked apart by one axe after another. Then, Dire Wolf Knights and their Dire Wolves began to push through the holes.

It seemed the Dire Wolf Knights, seeing they couldn’t take down Mog’s party quickly, had sent a small detachment around the sides to cut their way in.

Even for a decapitation strike launched under the cover of the main Orc assault, they were still hopelessly outnumbered.

Lying on the ground, Colin stared intently at the opening in the tent not far from him.

Previously, he had avoided using his louder magic so as not to alert the surrounding Orcs. Now, he had no such reservations.

The blade in his hand began to hum violently as wisps of electricity danced along its Damascus-patterned steel. At the same time, the Spellbook on the ground flew open, its pages WHIRRING until they landed on Lightning Bolt.

CRACK!

A brilliant flash of light erupted. A bolt of lightning nearly two meters in diameter tore apart everything in front of Colin.

The bolt of lightning vanished as quickly as it appeared.

The tear in the tent had been blasted into a large, charred hole.

The Orcs who had charged in were charred black, white smoke rising from their uncontrollably twitching bodies. The fur on their Dire Wolves had puffed out in all directions, giving them a rather comical appearance.

The Orc Chief, struck by the blast, retreated several steps behind his shield, falling back between a few of his Dire Wolf Knights.

Colin scrambled to his feet, quickly scanning the situation around him.

Kase, who had been locked in a stalemate with the three Close Guards, found his opening. He smashed the shield—the one his Giant Axe was embedded in—with a powerful elbow strike.

Before the other two Close Guards could react, he ducked down to retrieve his Giant Axe. Ignoring the two Battle Axes that bit into his own body, he swung it backhandedly and cleaved into one of the Close Guard’s calves.

The Close Guard, who had already been blasted by a round of Magic, immediately fell to the ground.

Kase swung his Giant Axe backhandedly into the last Close Guard’s shield. Pinning the shield down with the embedded axe, he drew a Battle Axe with his other hand and hacked the Orc until its head was a bloody mess.

In the blink of an eye, he had taken down all three Close Guards by himself.

As Kase broke free from the guards, Dorn finished off the Shaman.

The Dwarf had never really been pinned down. While running circles around two Orc Close Guards, he had been constantly throwing Spiritual Daggers at the Shaman, making it impossible for the Orc to focus on Casting.

Throughout the fight, Dorn had been bouncing back and forth like a black rubber ball. The two Orc Close Guards couldn’t pin him down and could only watch as the Shaman collapsed in a pool of blood.

After finishing off the Shaman, Dorn threw a Spiritual Dagger and Teleported to Colin’s side.

His voice entered Colin’s mind. ’What do we do now?’

’The main Orc force hasn’t noticed what’s happening here. We need to end this fast!’

As this thought crossed his mind, Colin began Spellcasting again.

The Orc Chief let out a low growl.

The surrounding Dire Wolf Knights all drew their throwing weapons.

Dorn muttered a curse in Dwarvish, then rolled to the side in an attempt to dodge.

Kase unslung the Giant Shield from his back. At the same time, he raised his right hand, and a Spirit Shield formed from ancestral will immediately enveloped Colin.

Colin watched the gleaming Javelins and Throwing Axes coming toward him, gritted his teeth, and continued Casting.

’The Dire Wolf Knights haven’t scattered yet. This is the perfect chance to strike!’

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

With a series of whooshes, the Javelins and Throwing Axes hurled by several Orcs struck Colin.

The Javelins, backed by the Orcs’ brute strength, were terrifyingly powerful. Although Colin’s Armor deflected several of the projectiles, a few Javelins and Throwing Axes still pierced the Chain Armor between the gaps in his Plate Armor, biting deep into his flesh.

The instant blood spilled from his wounds, lightning erupted from Colin’s Spellbook.

A searing white bolt tore a path through the Dire Wolf Knights, striking the Orc Chief head-on.

The Dire Wolves and Orcs around him, unable to withstand the impact of two Lightning Bolts, convulsed violently before collapsing to the ground.

The Chief swayed on his feet.

Then he raised his Shield, dropping to one knee to cover himself.

Kase seized the opportunity, charging in front of Colin with his Giant Shield to provide cover. "You alright?" he asked.

"Could be better," Colin said, gritting his teeth against the searing pain as he ripped the Javelin and Throwing Axe from his shoulder.

A relentless CLANGING echoed from Kase’s Giant Shield as the Dire Wolf Knights continued their barrage of thrown weapons. A few of them even drew the Battle Axes at their waists and began to slowly advance.

This gave Colin a chance to get a clear look at the situation.

’There are probably no more reinforcements behind those Dire Wolf Knights. They must be fresh troops the Orc Chief was holding in reserve to deal with emergencies. He was probably just about to send them out when they ran right into us.’

Colin glanced back.

The Dire Wolf Knights who had charged in from the sides were still pinning down Ale and the others.

Protected by the other three, Ale was unleashing her full power, demonstrating the immense destructive capability of a Dragon Vein Mage who could cast Tier Three Magic.

Under the bombardment of her Magic and the attacks of their companions, the Dire Wolf Knights left behind were clearly struggling to hold their ground.

’Tell the others. We just need to charge over and finish off that Orc Chief. The rest of these Orc Warriors are nothing but a mob.’

As he sent the thought, Colin backhandedly drew the last Throwing Axe he had on him.

Just then, from a distance, Orelia raised her Holy Emblem and began to chant a prayer.

The wounds on Colin’s body began to heal rapidly, but there were too many of them for a single Divine Art to restore him completely.

He thought for a moment, then activated the tube inside his Helmet to drink another Healing Potion. Even after the Potion took effect, a faint, stinging pain remained; some of his wounds still hadn’t closed.

Colin looked back at the Dire Wolf Knights surrounding Mog and began to cast another spell.

The blade in his hand vibrated rapidly, and a piercing hum erupted among the Dire Wolves and their Knights. The Dire Wolves’ fur and the Orcs’ skin began to vibrate violently.

Under the intense vibration, blood began to seep from their mouths, noses, and eyes.

The Tier Two Magic, Shatter!

Just then, Albert fumbled through his Spellcasting, dropped his weapon, and thrust a hand toward the enemies before him. A scorching flame erupted as Burning Hand instantly engulfed several of them.

Meanwhile, Mog swept his club wide, knocking the last few standing opponents to the ground.

Having dealt with their opponents, the group rushed over to Colin.

Just then, Colin spotted a Dire Wolf Knight leading a Dire Wolf toward the Orc Chief.
