Chapter 131: Chapter 114: Delusion

GURGLE, GURGLE!

Under the high-hanging full moon, a large, silver-white metal orb rolled around cheerfully in Chen Qi’s hand.

This was the Source Ore, now sated and brimming with vitality.

Because its Spirituality frequency was so low, the little thing was usually motionless.

Its current liveliness was all thanks to the infusion of Chen Qi’s Spirituality.

’According to Jomoya’s diary, a simple infusion of Spirituality is far from enough to completely control the Source Ore.’

’I must completely assimilate its Spirituality, making it a part of myself.’

’Just like what the Card did to my cells before.’

’Only then will the Source Ore truly belong to me!’

Now that the Source Ore was replenished, it would only become more important, so of course Chen Qi had to take complete control of it.

And the timing was perfect.

Putting thought into action, Chen Qi once again connected his Spirituality with that of the Source Ore.

This time, instead of a brief touch and release, they began to continuously overlap.

As Chen Qi perceived it, his Spirituality’s frequency began to overlay that of the Source Ore. At first, the process was smooth, and the two frequencies merged into one.

But Chen Qi soon discovered that they hadn’t achieved a perfect fusion; there was some disharmony within the merged Spirituality frequency.

’Of course it wouldn’t be that easy!’

How could one life-form assimilating another possibly be an easy task?

Chen Qi was not surprised by this. In the next instant, he unfolded his Spiritual World and attempted to pull the Source Ore’s Spirituality inside.

This was no easy feat; in fact, it was extremely dangerous.

If the Source Ore’s Spirituality were to resist violently and tear his Spiritual World apart from within, he would undoubtedly suffer grievous injuries.

Fortunately, Chen Qi had already coaxed the Source Ore into obedience. Moreover, the disparity in strength between their Spiritualities was so vast that he dared to take the risk.

Even so, Chen Qi didn’t dare—nor could he even manage—to pull in all of the Source Ore’s Spirituality. He settled for just 30%.

This was the safe threshold he had arrived at after careful assessment and calculation.

...

This was a World of absolute darkness and Void, containing no matter, no Energy, not even concepts.

The only thing that existed here was Chen Qi, the Creator God.

At this moment, Chen Qi had taken the form of an immeasurably vast Giant of light, silently immersed within the dark Void.

’When the Source Ore’s Spirituality is pulled into my Spiritual World, it will be reborn within my World.’

’In other words, I can trace it back to the very moment of its birth.’

Chen Qi was the Creator God of this World. If the Source Ore’s Spirituality entered this place, he could naturally rewind its time all the way back to the moment of its birth.

Cause and effect in the Spiritual World were dictated by Chen Qi’s word alone. Therefore, this process could be seen as the Source Ore being reborn here.

In this way, the "reborn" Spirituality would be imprinted with Chen Qi’s mark at the very source of its existence.

In other words, it would already be a part of him, and thus, Chen Qi would have completed the Assimilation.

Once that portion of Spirituality left his Spiritual World and returned to its main body, Chen Qi would be able to seize control of 30% of the Source Ore’s Spirituality.

’There’s nothing for me to do now. Or rather, I’ve already done everything. All that’s left is to wait for the outcome.’

At this moment, Chen Qi felt a mix of nervousness and apprehension.

He was, after all, very likely about to witness the birth of a new life.

If he saw nothing, it would mean the Source Ore’s Spirituality had died from the violent conflict of being pulled into his Spiritual World.

That would be the absolute worst-case scenario, as the death of its Spirituality would turn the Source Ore into worthless scrap.

The loss would be immense.

This was why Chen Qi had settled on 30%. With a seventy percent chance of success, it was a risk worth taking.

...

Time did not exist in the Spiritual World. Then, in a certain instant, an existence other than Chen Qi appeared within the world of absolute darkness and Void.

It was the cry of a bird—high-pitched, clear, and brimming with vigorous life.

The instant the bird cried out, a magnificent Sun was suddenly born within Chen Qi’s Spiritual World.

Endless light and heat radiated from the Sun, threatening to tear apart the dark, empty World—or perhaps to grant it new life, reshaping the very cosmos.

"Stabilize!"

The immeasurably vast Creator God stood, a pillar between Heaven and earth, holding up the World as it threatened to shatter.

He radiated an immeasurable light, desperately blocking the Sun’s radiation and forcing the fracturing sky back together.

Through his relentless efforts, the Spiritual World finally withstood the impact from the Source Ore’s Spirituality.

That was right; the vast, newly-born Sun was the Spirituality of the Source Ore.

Surviving this impact was all it took to gain complete control.

And indeed, once the initial shockwave passed, the Sun began to shrink, having apparently adapted completely to this World and become a part of it.

When the process was complete, a genuine Sun had been born within Chen Qi’s world of darkness and Void.

It was incredibly real and tangible, even filled with a nimble life of its own.

Even if Chen Qi were to release this portion of the Source Ore’s Spirituality now, the Sun would not go out.

Because in essence, it represented Chen Qi’s controlling interest in the Source Ore’s Spirituality—founder’s shares, at that.

It might only be 30%, but for now, that was more than enough.

’The Source Ore’s Consciousness was nothing more than a faint biological instinct. If I, holding a 30% stake of founder’s shares, still couldn’t completely control it, wouldn’t that make me dumber than a single-celled organism?’
