Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Sending Gifts to Apologize

Ophelia turned her head to look at the serious expression on Tyler’s face. Her soft fingers lightly tapped his furrowed brow.

"Of course you can," she said with a smile. "You are my mate, so it’s perfectly normal for you to get jealous. If you didn’t, it would prove that you don’t love me, and I’d be angry."

Tyler caught Ophelia’s hand, his gaze filled with deep affection. "How could I not love the Princess? I wish you had eyes for no one else but me."

Seeing Tyler express his feelings so bluntly brought Ophelia a great sense of comfort. After so much of her guidance, he was finally able to voice his desires instead of silently swallowing his grievances.

"I won’t tease you anymore. I’ll tell you," Ophelia said, gently pinching Tyler’s straight nose. "Moye came because he wants me to continue cooking for Zerev. He even raised the payment to two Green Crystal Stones."

Tyler’s Adam’s apple bobbed, his expression turning slightly nervous. "Did the Princess agree?"

Ophelia shook her head and leaned in to kiss his lips. "Do you think I should have?"

"Does the Princess want to hear the truth?" Without waiting for her to answer, Tyler hurried on. "I don’t want you to agree to it. I don’t want the Princess cooking for Zerev ever again."

"Alright, alright. If our Tyler doesn’t want me to do it, I won’t. I’ll reject him when he comes tomorrow."

Tyler gave a solemn nod. "Princess," he asked happily, "are we still going up the mountain to hunt today?"

The phrase "going up the mountain to hunt" was an unspoken code between them. It simply meant Ophelia was going to bring livestock out from her farming dimension.

"Aren’t you going to help build the wall and shops?" she asked.

"No. One more person won’t make a difference. After all, it’s their tribe, so they ought to contribute to it."

Moreover, those people were different from the ones who had voluntarily joined the tribe. They were clansmen sold by the Snow Wolf Clan. Technically speaking, they were Beast Servants belonging to the Princess. They had no right to refuse her orders. It was only because she was kind-hearted that she hadn’t forced them into a Master-Servant Contract.

"Alright then. You can help me reclaim some wasteland."

She planned to clear the land first, sprinkle the fertilizer from her dimension, let the soil enrich for a few days, and then plant the rice seedlings.

"Okay. The sun isn’t too harsh right now, so I’ll get to work immediately."

Because Ophelia had rejected Moye’s request for his sake, Tyler’s heart was surging with passion. His blood boiled with excitement, and his body brimmed with endless strength. With that said, he pulled Ophelia along to find a suitable spot.

Ophelia led Tyler to an area about five meters away from the wall and the shops, sweeping her hand in a grand gesture. "Let’s get started. We’ll till any flat ground we can see."

"Alright."

Tyler instantly shifted into his Golden Dragon form, putting all four limbs to work. Soon, dust was flying everywhere as the yellow mud was rapidly overturned. The damp layer of soil beneath the mud was dug up, and Ophelia followed closely behind, secretly sprinkling the fertilizer she had bought from the dimension’s shop into the dirt.

Working together, they managed to reclaim a plot of land (about 666 square meters) in just one morning. Later on, when Ophelia was too exhausted to take another step, Tyler even took over the task of spreading the fertilizer. If Ophelia hadn’t stepped in to stop him because the weather was getting too hot, she felt Tyler could have easily cleared two entire plots in a single morning.

She made a rough calculation. In the current Beast World, a single plot of land could yield about three hundred catties of rice—which was incomparable to the modern yield of nine hundred catties per plot. However, no one would set aside too much land for farming anyway. Having too much made it impossible to manage. They had to prevent wild beasts from trampling the fields and guard against birds stealing the crops during the harvest season.

Realistically, they would probably only harvest at most two hundred catties per plot. Ophelia didn’t plan on overdoing it; keeping the yield at around three hundred catties would suffice. To produce three thousand five hundred catties of rice, she would only need to cultivate around thirteen plots of land.

Of course, the total area of the Fu Clan was only six thousand square meters. Subtracting the one thousand square meters designated for the tribe’s residential area, there were still about five thousand square meters left. Five thousand square meters could be converted into roughly five plots of land, which would yield a mere fifteen hundred catties a year.

Therefore, she planned to research double-cropping rice later on. That way, she could harvest three thousand catties of grain annually. By then, she would have a plausible explanation when she handed over the three thousand five hundred catties of rice to the White Tiger King, Klein.

When Moye arrived the next day, Ophelia told him that she was refusing to cook for Zerev any longer.

"Ophelia, won’t you reconsider? We’re talking about two Green Crystal Stones." Moye offered through gritted teeth, "If that’s not enough, I’ll add a Yellow Crystal Stone."

Yet Ophelia still rejected him, her attitude incredibly firm. Realizing he couldn’t persuade her, Moye returned to Ten Thousand Beasts City in low spirits and reported the matter to Zerev.

Upon hearing Ophelia’s refusal, Zerev froze for a moment. It didn’t take long for him to recover. "Understood," he replied in a deep voice.

"Young Master, why don’t you go see Ophelia yourself?" Moye suggested. He felt that if his young master could just swallow his pride and coax Ophelia, there would still be room for negotiation. After all, his young master was quite handsome. Not only did he hold a high status, but he also possessed a considerable amount of Crystal Stones. Any female would surely fall for him.

"There’s no need. We have real business to attend to. Tomorrow, you’ll accompany me to visit the other trading markets."

Moye bowed his head and replied respectfully, "Yes, sir."

After Moye left, Zerev stared down at the corner of the table he had accidentally crushed in his grip, a lonely look in his eyes.

A knock sounded on the door, followed by the voice of a Beast Servant. "Young Master, I’ve brought the items."

"Deliver them to Ophelia. Do not show yourself. Leave them quietly without being noticed." He figured the little female probably didn’t want to see him right now.

"Yes, Young Master."

Since their stone house was not yet finished, Ophelia and Tyler were still living in the Golden Dragon Clan. That night, under the cover of the dark, windy sky, the Beast Servant transformed into a Winged Dragon and flew toward the Golden Dragon Clan.

Having undergone special training, he concealed his scent and landed silently in front of Ophelia’s stone house. Tyler had gone out to wash up, leaving Ophelia alone in the room. Through the crack in the door, the servant caught sight of Ophelia’s slender figure as she made the bed.

He stared for a moment, his mind filled with confusion. He thought, "So this is the little female the Young Master likes." Aside from being slightly pretty, she looked terribly frail and weak, as if she would be difficult to care for. The Beast Servant couldn’t figure out why his young master would fancy such a little female. However, he had been trained since childhood to obey the young master’s orders. Though he didn’t understand it, he respected it.

Stepping lightly, he placed the linen garments and the bolts of linen cloth at the doorway. He then turned, retreated to a hidden spot, shifted back into a Winged Dragon, and flew away.

When Tyler returned from washing up, he immediately spotted the linen clothes on the ground. He scanned his surroundings vigilantly but found no trace of anyone. Frowning at the linen cloth and garments in his hands, he felt a surge of displeasure. However, knowing that Ophelia liked these things, he carried them inside anyway.

"What’s that in your hands?" Ophelia only realized they were linen garments once Tyler drew closer. "Did Zerev send these?"

Tyler shook his head. "I don’t know. I didn’t see anyone. Should we send them back?"

Ophelia set the linen clothes aside and held the uncut linen cloth up against Tyler’s body to measure it. "I was planning to make you some linen clothes anyway, so this is perfect. It would be a waste to refuse such good materials."

Tyler pursed his lips, his face expressionless. "I don’t need them."

Ophelia shot him a glare and scolded playfully, "Don’t think I haven’t noticed. Your thighs are already breaking out in a heat rash."

Tyler was rendered speechless.
