Chapter 58: Chapter 58: Without Her Medicine, No Matter How Many Little Females There Are, It’s Useless; They Can Only Wait to Die.

Loki knew he couldn’t fool Ophelia, so he decided to just brazen it out.

"I gave the medicine to Miche! She is much sicker than Amy, and she will die if she doesn’t drink it! Besides, you have so much medicine. What’s the big deal if you give me a little more?"

Ophelia remained completely indifferent. "How much medicine I have is my business. Why should I give it to you?"

"Well, Amy’s medicine is gone anyway. If you don’t want to watch her die, you better take out some more." Loki dug his heels in, acting completely shameless.

"No, that’s not true!" Amy interrupted. "Father came here to ask for medicine for Galen, not for me. Galen is Miche’s brother, the male from the Fox Clan."

Amy could clearly see that the most important person in her father’s heart was Miche. After what just happened, her father would never dote on her again. Since that was the case, she would be better off staying with the Golden Dragon Clan. Even if her mother didn’t love her anymore, her Uncle Laxus and Grandmother Rebecca would still take care of her.

"Loki, after doing such a thing, how dare you still ask for medicine? Are you crazy?" Laxus was furious upon hearing about Loki’s actions. A male like him was simply unworthy of being Amy’s father!

"Ophelia, if you don’t give me the medicine, Galen will really die." Thinking of Miche’s tear-reddened eyes, Loki had no choice but to soften his tone.

"What does his life or death have to do with me? Don’t forget who you betrayed me for." Ophelia glared at him coldly. Seeing Loki acting so submissively for Miche and her family only made a knot of anger tighten in her chest.

She had thought that Loki simply didn’t like her, which was why she couldn’t compare to Miche. But she never expected that Amy, his own flesh and blood, wouldn’t even compare to Miche’s brother. It was truly ridiculous!

Desperate for the medicine, Loki swallowed his pride even further. "I’m not doing this for myself, nor am I doing it for Miche and Galen.

"Ophelia, many members of the Snow Wolf Clan have fallen ill. For the sake of the time you once lived with them, please help them. Without the medicine, they’ll lose their lives too."

Loki painted a terribly bleak picture of the Snow Wolf Clan’s plight, hoping to win Ophelia’s sympathy.

"That’s the Snow Wolf Clan’s business. What does it have to do with me? I’m not the Clan Leader of the Snow Wolf Clan, nor do I want to be!" Ophelia let out a scoff, her attitude showing no sign of softening.

Loki knew he had to bring the medicine back. His voice grew tense. "Ophelia, those are living, breathing lives! Are you really going to be this cold-blooded?"

"Loki, from the moment you betrayed me, you and the Snow Wolf Clan ceased to have anything to do with me."

Knowing this was his best chance to become the Clan Leader, Loki refused to leave empty-handed. He gritted his teeth and asked, "What exactly do I have to do for you to give me the medicine? If I can cure our people this time, the position of Snow Wolf Clan Leader will be mine."

"Whether you become the Clan Leader or not is your business. I won’t give you the medicine."

"I’m not just doing this for myself; I’m doing it for our Amy! If I become the Clan Leader, Amy’s status will rise, and she’ll become the most noble young female in the Snow Wolf Clan."

"Enough, stop talking. I don’t want to hear it." Ophelia frowned in irritation. She was sick and tired of Loki’s words. In her past life, even when he became the Clan Leader, she hadn’t gained the slightest benefit.

Seeing that Ophelia remained unmoved, Loki shifted his gaze to the Golden Dragon Clan onlookers.

"You all have experienced the pain of illness! Surely, you couldn’t bear to watch your own family members die like this!

"Please, persuade Ophelia! The Snow Wolf Clan will definitely remember your great kindness!

"The ones who are sickest in the Snow Wolf Clan are the young females. Females are the foundation of any tribe! You certainly wouldn’t want to see them just die off, would you?"

Seeing Loki acting so pitifully, the members of the Golden Dragon Clan couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy. They began to speak up, urging Ophelia to just give him some medicine. After all, no one in their tribe was sick anymore, and the medicine was just sitting there unused.

"Princess, just save the Snow Wolf Clan members. They are quite pitiful."

"Yes, Loki is the one who did wrong. Those young females are innocent."

"Princess, we don’t need this medicine right now. Why not use it to save the Snow Wolf Clan?"

Hearing about the Snow Wolf Clan’s plight struck a chord with the kind-hearted Golden Dragon Clan members. After all, not long ago, they had almost experienced the agony of losing their own loved ones. Even though the Golden Dragon Clan didn’t get along with the Snow Wolf Clan, they still couldn’t bear to watch those delicate young females die one by one.

Saving a life is the highest virtue. Ultimately, Ophelia’s heart softened just a bit. Her clansmen were right. The ones who had done wrong were Loki’s family and Miche; the rest of the Snow Wolf Clan members were mostly innocent.

Seeing Ophelia hesitate, Loki grew extremely anxious.

After a long moment, Ophelia finally spoke up and agreed. "I can agree to give you the medicine."

Hearing that Ophelia was willing to agree, Loki was overwhelmed with excitement. "That’s wonderful! Ophelia, I knew it! You are definitely the kindest female in the world!"

"Don’t celebrate just yet. I have a condition." Ophelia cast a calm, sidelong glance at him. She wasn’t going to help the Snow Wolf Clan for nothing; naturally, she had to collect some interest.

Desperate to get the medicine and become the Clan Leader, Loki eagerly agreed, as if he had finally seen a ray of hope. "As long as you give me the medicine, I will agree to any condition!"

"I went through a lot of trouble to get this medicine. It is extremely precious. I can’t just give it to you for nothing. I can save your people, but you must exchange ten young females from the Snow Wolf Clan, or give up half of the Snow Wolf Clan’s territory."

Although Ophelia wasn’t short on medicine, she had no intention of letting Loki off easily. Since he wanted to secure the Clan Leader position by saving his people, she was going to make him bleed for it!

Hearing this demand, Loki naturally refused. "Ophelia, how can you ask for something in return for saving lives? If you save the Snow Wolf Clan members this time, they will be grateful to you."

Ophelia didn’t buy into Loki’s manipulation. She insisted, "I can save people, but I won’t save ungrateful wretches. Who knows if you’ll just turn around and bite the hand that fed you once you’re cured?" She made it clear that if Loki didn’t meet her demands, there would be no medicine.

Loki had wanted to get something for nothing and was completely unwilling to give anything up. He couldn’t help but plead, "We can’t possibly meet those two demands. Can you change it to something else?"

Loki’s line of thinking was far too naive. Ophelia was no saint; how could she possibly give him the medicine for free?

"If you can’t do it, then this conversation is over. Don’t even think about getting the medicine." Ophelia refused to lower her demands. If he wanted the medicine, he had to offer something of equal value in exchange. Without her medicine, even a vast number of young females would be useless; they could only wait for death.
