Chapter 196: Chapter 196: Kosa Arrives at the Holy Capital

"Princess, we still haven’t found that male from the Fire Phoenix Clan," Tyler said, returning to the three-story stone house in low spirits.

Klein frowned deeply. "It’s been three days. If we haven’t found his corpse by now, there are only two possibilities."

"Either he’s been eaten by wild beasts, or he’s still alive," Zerev added, his expression dark.

Ophelia leaned toward the second possibility. "Even if he was devoured by wild beasts, there should still be bones left behind. Humanoid bones and beast bones are entirely different.

"He’s probably looking for an opportunity to return to the Holy Capital."

Klein looked at Zerev. "Zerev, you need to head back to the Holy Capital. You must intercept him before he gets there.

"Otherwise, if he makes it back to the Fire Phoenix Clan, your relationship with Ophelia will be completely exposed."

"Zerev, Klein is right. You need to hurry back to the Holy Capital now." Ophelia was getting anxious too.

"But what about you?" Zerev was still worried.

Knowing what he was thinking, Ophelia comforted him softly. "You don’t need to worry about things on my end. You’ve seen the power of the bows and Crossbows. Even if we run into him again, we won’t be afraid."

Zerev steeled his resolve. "Alright, I’ll head back to the Holy Capital tomorrow."

"Mm. In a bit, I’ll have Tyler bring the little dragon pups back so you can see them before you leave."

Now that Brada had been dealt with, only Beast Servant Kaka remained. Given the current situation, Kaka definitely wouldn’t return to the Fuzu Tribe. Therefore, she didn’t have to worry about being discovered if she let the dragon pups out of her dimension.

"Okay."

After saying his goodbyes to the little dragon pups, Zerev once again set off on the journey back to the Holy Capital.

Meanwhile, at the Snow Wolf Clan, Kaka’s injuries had mostly healed.

"I need to return to the Holy Capital. I’ll come back to thank you properly after I finish my business," Kaka said gratefully, patting Kosa on the shoulder.

"You said there were people from the Holy Capital hunting you. If you go back now, wouldn’t you just be walking right into their trap?" Kosa analyzed the situation calmly for him. "Why don’t you stay with the Snow Wolf Clan for a few more days? It won’t be too late to head back once they’ve dropped their guard.

"Alternatively, I could make the trip to the Holy Capital for you."

Kaka fell silent for a moment, realizing Kosa made sense. "Alright. I’ll give you a Token, and you can go to the Holy Capital in my place."

Reaching into his shirt, Kaka pulled out a red iron plate—the Token representing Brada’s identity.

"This is the young master’s Token. When you enter the Holy Capital, hand it to the male guards at the gate, and they will take you to see the Family Head.

"Tell the Family Head that Ophelia killed Young Master Brada, and that Zerev, the young master of the Winged Dragon Clan, is having an affair with her."

Hearing the truth, Kosa was somewhat surprised. He hadn’t expected Ophelia to actually hook up with the young master of the Holy Capital’s Winged Dragon Clan. She sure was lucky.

"Alright, I understand. I’ll definitely deliver the message." Kosa then waved his hand. "Hu Ya, come here."

A short, emaciated figure walked over. "Young Clan Leader Kosa."

"Kaka, this is Hu Ya. His parents were also killed by Ophelia, and he has something to tell you."

Kaka assessed the young male cub in front of him. When Kosa mentioned Ophelia, the boy’s green eyes filled with thick murderous intent and hatred.

"What do you want to tell me?"

Hu Ya pursed his lips. "Ophelia’s three little dragon pups aren’t Tyler’s."

Kosa was puzzled. "How do you know they aren’t his? They’re dragon pups, so how could they belong to anyone else?"

He had previously heard that Ophelia had given birth to three dragon pups, and among her mates, only Tyler was a Dragon Beast. How could they not be his?

"They’re not," Hu Ya insisted. "I’ve had a keen sense of smell since I was little, and their scent is completely different from Tyler’s."

He had made the discovery back when he was bullying Lobak in the Fuzu Tribe. That day, the oldest pup, Kohen, and the second pup, Dan’er, had both gone into the water, washing away whatever was masking their natural scent. He had vaguely smelled that something was off. He confirmed it again the time he forced Wendy into the stream. Once she was in the water, he could clearly distinguish that her scent was distinct from Tyler’s.

"If they aren’t Tyler’s pups, then that means she has another mate who is also a Dragon Beast," Kosa noted.

Kaka’s expression shifted to one of shock. "They’re Zerev’s offspring!"

He knew Zerev and Ophelia were having an affair, but he hadn’t realized the two had already become mates and even had cubs together.

"The people of the Holy Capital will absolutely never allow Zerev to take a female from a low-level tribe as a mate! Once the Holy Capital finds out, Ophelia is as good as dead," Kaka said, madness flashing in his eyes. "Tell the Family Head about this too. When the time comes, not only the Fire Phoenix Clan, but even the Winged Dragon Family will crusade against the Fu Clan and Ophelia!"

He had been worried that Zerev would resist the Fire Phoenix Clan for Ophelia’s sake, but Zerev’s actions had now violated the rules of the Holy Capital. Even if the Winged Dragon Clan didn’t take action themselves, the other noble families would unite to force the Yilong Family Master to step in.

"But they already have offspring. Won’t the Yilong Family Master soften his heart?" Kosa asked.

"No. Even if they have offspring, the cubs will be disposed of as well. The noble bloodlines of the Holy Capital do not allow for any defilement."

"Excellent, I’ll set off right now." Learning that Ophelia had committed a capital offense made Kosa’s blood boil with excitement.

This was the perfect opportunity to bring Ophelia down. As long as he could get rid of her, he would definitely be able to unearth the secret of those new weapons.

While Ophelia lived in a state of anxiety, some good news swept through the Fuzu Tribe.

Two young females in the tribe had gotten pregnant with cubs, which was a massive cause for celebration for the Fuzu Tribe. This pushed the single males of the tribe to work even harder at hunting and courting the females.

Ten days later.

Exhausted, Kosa arrived at the gates of the Holy Capital.

The male guards at the city gate immediately caught the scent of a low-level tribe on him, their faces filling with disdain.

"Where did this filth come from? You actually think you can enter the Holy Capital?"

"Get lost! Hurry up and scram before you soil the eyes of our nobles."

The two male guards shoved Kosa. Compared to them, Kosa’s strength wasn’t even worth mentioning.

Seeing this, Kosa hastily pulled out the Token Kaka had given him. "I have urgent business with the Fire Phoenix Family Master! This is my Token."

A guard snatched the Token with a look of disgust, but the moment he saw the fire phoenix feather etched onto the red iron plate, his expression changed drastically.

Shooting a look at his companion, the guard urged, "Quick, go notify the Fire Phoenix Family!"

At Zerev’s residence.

Zerev sat with one hand propped on the table, massaging his forehead. "Still no news on Kaka?"

Jiuying shook his head. "I dispatched a team of males to stand guard at the gates of the Holy Capital day and night, but we haven’t seen any sign of him.

"Young Master, could he already be dead? Perhaps we’re overthinking this."

With so much time having passed without a single sighting of Kaka, Jiuying felt the beast servant had to be dead.

"No, he isn’t dead." Ever since returning to the Holy Capital, Zerev had been plagued by a lingering sense of unease. And that unease was directly tied to Kaka.

He absolutely could not allow Kaka to return to the Holy Capital, or else Ophelia would be exposed, and the consequences would be unimaginable.

At the Fire Phoenix Clan’s residence.

The Fire Phoenix Family Master stared at the Token in his hand, a dark glint flashing in his eyes. "You said Kaka gave you this Token and asked you to pass on a message to me?"
