I Dumped My Mate—Now Every Beast King Wants Me
Chapter 195: Kaka Escapes and Is Rescued
Chapter 195: Chapter 195: Kaka Escapes and Is Rescued
Kaka’s voice was ice-cold as several other Fire Phoenix Clan males lunged at Ophelia.
However, just as they were about to touch Ophelia, several cold arrows shot out from the bushes. The arrows flew so fast that the males couldn’t even react before drawing blood. Some were hit in the arm, some in the shoulder, and one was even shot directly through the neck.
Kaka turned his head in shock. Seeing what was happening behind him, he knew things were bad. Ophelia had premeditated this.
Kaka helped Brada up and applied the medicine from his waist to his wounds.
"Kill... kill her for me," Brada said, filled with fury. He spat out fresh blood as he spoke, knowing he wouldn’t survive this.
"Mr. Brada, I’ll take you back to the Holy Capital."
"It’s no use." Brada’s face was pale, his eyes completely bloodshot. "Hurry back to the Holy Capital and find my father." He used his last breath to utter those words before going completely still.
Kaka’s eyes burned with rage. His fists cracked as he clenched them, ready to attack Ophelia.
Just then, a massive silhouette lunged at him. He looked up and saw a Winged Dragon with white wings.
"Mr. Zerev." Kaka was profoundly shocked.
He quickly realized that it was no wonder a female from a tiny tribe like Ophelia dared to attack his master; her backer was Zerev all along. In that case, Mr. Brada’s previous speculation was probably true. Zerev really did have another little female in Ten Thousand Beasts City, and this little female was undoubtedly Ophelia.
"Mr. Ze Re Fu, does doing this do justice to Princess Sophie?
"You helped her kill Mr. Brada. Are you trying to make an enemy out of the Fire Phoenix Clan?"
"Who said I killed Brada?" Zerev transformed into his human form, his tone careless.
Kaka’s pupils shrank slightly as he understood the meaning behind Zerev’s words. However, since he had promised his master to help him get revenge, he couldn’t die here today. Thus, risking the loss of an arm, Kaka broke out of the heavy encirclement, his body covered in arrows.
Zerev raised his hand. "There’s no need to chase him." Kaka had been hit by so many arrows; he couldn’t possibly survive.
Klein, however, disagreed. "We can’t just let him go like this. We must see him if he’s alive, or see his corpse if he’s dead." He never left things to chance, always believing in hitting the mark with a single strike and pulling the problem up by its roots.
"Right. Tyler, take a few clansmen and search the area. You must find Kaka." After what happened with Hu Ya, Ophelia would no longer be soft-hearted and easily let her enemies off.
Meanwhile, clutching his injured shoulder, Kaka stumbled to the entrance of a tribe and fainted.
Returning from a hunt outside, Kosa saw a person lying on the ground and curiously stepped forward to check. He noticed Kaka’s broken fiery red wings and furrowed his brows. "Fire Phoenix Clan? From the Holy Capital?" Kosa stroked his chin and ultimately decided to bring the man back to the tribe.
Soro saw that Kosa had brought back a male covered in blood and was somewhat worried. "Where did you bring him back from? With injuries this severe, I’m afraid things aren’t that simple. Hurry and send him out of the Snow Wolf Clan." He didn’t want to invite trouble.
Kosa shook his head and pulled an arrow out of Kaka’s body. "Father, look at this. What is it?"
Soro lowered his hands and looked at the bloodstained arrows. "Is this a weapon?"
"The skin of Fire Phoenix Clan males is incredibly tough. Ordinary Bone Knives can’t hurt them at all.
"The fact that these branches could actually injure him shows their extraordinary power.
"If we could also craft weapons like this, why would we ever have to worry about our tribe not growing stronger?"
Moved by Kosa’s words, Soro carefully observed the arrows in his hand. Reaching out to touch the arrowhead at the tip, he tapped it. "What is this material? It’s so hard."
Kosa lowered his eyes in deep thought. "Father, where is your Clan Leader Token?"
Soro looked at the arrowhead, then pulled out the Clan Leader Token from his clothes. The color and appearance of the two items were nearly identical.
"Is this iron?
"But iron is extremely brittle; it can’t hurt anyone at all," Soro voiced his inner confusion.
Kosa nodded. "It seems we’ll only get our answers when he wakes up."
"But he’s so heavily injured. Can he even survive?" Soro didn’t hold out much hope for Kaka’s survival.
"I’ve already applied the Fuzu Tribe’s hemostatic medicine and antiseptic medicine on him. Whether he lives or not depends on his fate."
Kosa looked at the unconscious Kaka, thinking to himself that the man really needed to pull through, as Kosa had used the only antiseptic medicine he had on hand for him. Because Kaka carried their hopes of strengthening the Snow Wolf Clan, Kosa and Soro took very attentive care of him over the next few days.
Three days later.
In the early morning, Kaka woke up from his coma. He opened his eyes and looked at the unfamiliar environment in the room, growing vigilant. He struggled to sit up from the bed, but the pain from his wounds made him gasp sharply.
The commotion woke up Kosa, who was resting beside the bed. He impatiently rubbed his hair, looking displeased. "Are you going to let me sleep or not?"
Kaka had been running a fever these past few days. Kosa had stayed up all night taking care of him and had finally managed to fall asleep, only to be woken up again.
"Where is this?" Kaka’s voice was hoarse.
Hearing the male’s voice, Kosa completely woke up. "You’re awake, male of the Fire Phoenix Clan."
Seeing that Kosa had recognized his identity, a wary expression appeared on Kaka’s face.
"I’m Kosa. Don’t worry, it’s very safe here. We won’t hurt you."
"Why did you save me?" Kaka absolutely didn’t believe that the male in front of him had saved him out of the goodness of his heart.
Kosa didn’t hide his intentions either, speaking frankly. "I want to know where the objects on your body came from." He toyed with an arrow in his hand, his expression serious.
Kaka looked at the arrow in his hand, his eyes darkening. "They are weapons thrown by the Fuzu Tribe."
"The Fuzu Tribe?" That made things a bit difficult. "Why did they want to kill you?"
Kaka clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles turned white. "I discovered their secret, and they wanted to silence me."
"What secret?" Kosa was a bit curious.
"That is not something you can know. You saved me. Once I return to the Holy Capital and finish what I need to do, I will repay you." Kaka wasn’t clear about Kosa’s background, so he didn’t reveal the truth.
Kosa saw through his guard and let out a light chuckle. "The Fuzu Tribe, what a coincidence. We happen to have some grievances with the Fuzu Tribe.
"If you need any help, just say the word."
"You have a feud with the Fuzu Tribe?"
"The Clan Leader of the Fuzu Tribe is my brother’s former mate, and my brother was killed by her. She even stole half of our tribe’s territory."
"Is this the Snow Wolf Clan?" When he had investigated the Fuzu Tribe previously, Kaka had learned that Ophelia had a history of enmity with the Snow Wolf Clan.
"That’s right, I am the son of the Snow Wolf Clan’s Clan Leader."
Learning that this was the Snow Wolf Clan—which had a feud with Ophelia—Kaka was no longer in a hurry to return to the Holy Capital. His injuries hadn’t healed yet, and traveling back to the Holy Capital for days on end would likely be quite difficult. Since that was the case, he might as well recuperate in the Snow Wolf Clan for a while.
Kaka voiced his thoughts, and Kosa welcomed the idea.
"Of course. It’s our honor to be able to help you."
