I Dumped My Mate—Now Every Beast King Wants Me
Chapter 121: Goodbye, Klein
Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Goodbye, Klein
Zerev lay on his side, looking at Ophelia’s back, feeling incredibly pleased.
Feeling his burning gaze on her back, Ophelia couldn’t take it anymore.
She turned around, pinched him hard, and snapped, "What are you looking at? Go to sleep."
Zerev let out a low chuckle. He pulled her into his arms, lowered his head, and planted a kiss on the top of her head.
"All right, let’s sleep."
With Zerev by her side, Ophelia didn’t have any more nightmares that night.
She had assumed a dream was just a dream, not reality.
But at noon two days later, while she was sitting in the sun eating an apple, a battered Beast Servant suddenly stumbled back into the compound.
Several arrows were still lodged in the wings on his back.
"What happened?"
Ophelia had already seen crude bows and arrows from the Mountain Goat Clan, so she wasn’t surprised by the nature of the Beast Servant’s injuries.
However, seeing him return in such a wretched state made her heart leap into her throat.
Zerev, who had been cooking in the kitchen, heard Ophelia’s voice and hurried out.
His expression changed drastically the moment he saw the Beast Servant.
"What happened?"
The Beast Servant dropped to one knee and lowered his head, his voice hoarse. "Loki teamed up with Wandering Beasts to ambush us.
"The Wandering Beasts used bows and arrows. Tyler was injured and has gone missing."
Hearing that Tyler was missing, the fruit slipped from Ophelia’s hand and rolled onto the ground.
Zerev anxiously stepped forward to support her, his voice gentle as he comforted her. "Don’t worry. I’ll go look for him right now. I’ll bring him back safely."
He then ordered the Beast Servant, "Go to Ten Thousand Beasts City and find Moye. Tell him to dispatch half the males in the city to come with me to rescue him."
"Yes, sir."
While waiting for Moye’s reinforcements, Zerev stayed by Ophelia’s side to soothe her.
Her eyes were red, and her nails unconsciously dug into her palms.
"Rest assured, I will definitely rescue Tyler.
"He wouldn’t dare die without your permission."
In less than half an hour, Moye personally led fifty males to the Fu Clan.
Seeing Ophelia’s devastated state, Moye hesitated to speak.
"Sir, the Wandering Beasts have bows and arrows. You shouldn’t go.
"I’ll lead the men myself and make sure Tyler is rescued."
Zerev shook his head. "No, I have to go."
He knew how important Tyler was to Ophelia. No matter how much he disliked Tyler, he couldn’t let him die at a time like this.
"But your safety is also important, sir," Moye disagreed.
Zerev raised a hand, his voice deep and resolute. "Say no more. My mind is made up.
"We depart immediately."
Ophelia stepped forward and grabbed Zerev’s hand, her eyes firm. "Zerev, Moye is right. You are of noble status and shouldn’t take such risks.
"I can’t selfishly put you in danger. I’ll go with Moye."
"Nonsense!"
"No!" Zerev and Moye rejected the idea simultaneously.
Moye was internally groaning.
Nothing could be allowed to happen to their master, but Ophelia was carrying his child—she absolutely could not get hurt either.
Ophelia shook her head. "I have to go. Even if you don’t let me, I’ll sneak out and follow you.
"You know me, Zerev. I always do what I say."
Zerev’s expression cooled slightly at her words.
"Is Tyler really that important to you? So important that you’d completely disregard your own life?"
"Zerev, whether it’s you or Tyler, I would go to the rescue if either of you were in danger, because you are both the most important people in my life."
Hearing this, Zerev’s first reaction wasn’t joy, but rather a twinge of sorrow.
Ophelia had finally admitted that he held a place in her heart.
But now, she was still willing to brave danger to save another male, seemingly not even caring about the child in her womb.
"Ophelia, you’re still pregnant. You shouldn’t be running around.
"I swear to you that I will rescue Tyler and bring him back safely.
"Just stay here safely at the Fu Clan with the master. If you go, you’ll only be a distraction to us," Moye hurriedly advised, seeing the tense stalemate.
Ophelia’s eyes burned brightly as she stared straight at Zerev with a solemn expression. "Zerev, as long as you take me with you, no matter the outcome, I promise I won’t dissolve our mate bond."
Hearing the words he had once desperately wanted to hear, Zerev showed not the slightest hint of happiness.
Seeing his silence, Ophelia steeled her resolve. "If you won’t take me, I’ll go by myself."
The situation was urgent, and she didn’t want to waste any more breath.
The sooner she got there, the sooner Tyler could be found.
Seeing her so determined, Zerev felt a surge of frustration, but he had no choice but to agree to bring her along.
To save time, Zerev had Ophelia climb onto his back. He transformed into a Winged Dragon and took straight to the skies.
Along the way, Ophelia listened to the wind howling in her ears.
Having calmed down, she felt a pang of guilt. She leaned down, hugged Zerev’s neck, and whispered, "Zerev, I’m sorry."
The White Dragon, who had been focused solely on flying, twitched his eyelids but said nothing.
In the main hall of the White Tiger Clan’s mine.
Klein’s heart leaped into his throat the moment he saw Laxus covered in injuries.
"Laxus, why are you here? Is it Ophe—"
Before he could finish, Laxus cut him off.
"Klein, Ophelia asked us to deliver rice to you, but we were attacked by Wandering Beasts on the way. Can you bring some men as reinforcements?"
"What? How could this happen?"
Without another word, Klein rushed to assemble the males of the clan.
Hearing that Laxus had arrived, Ali also ran over. She asked with deep concern, "Is Ophelia okay?"
Laxus sat in a chair, letting the clan healer bandage his wounds. He shook his head at her question.
"My sister is pregnant, so she didn’t come along this time."
Klein, who had just reached the doorway, froze slightly upon hearing Laxus’s words.
He couldn’t help but think, "Is Ophelia pregnant? It must be Tyler’s child."
Seeing Klein hesitate, Ali stomped her foot and said anxiously, "Brother, now is not the time for this!
"Hurry up and lead the men to rescue Tyler! He’s Ophelia’s mate. If anything happens to him, she will be absolutely heartbroken."
Lili genuinely liked Ophelia, so she couldn’t bear to see her sad either.
Hearing this, Klein pursed his lips. He gathered the males and set off toward the North Mountain with Laxus.
Zerev flew through the sky with Ophelia, while Moye and the fifty males from Ten Thousand Beasts City traveled day and night without rest.
They finally arrived just before dusk the following day.
Moye had specifically brought along males with a keen sense of smell. As soon as they arrived, they sharply detected the thick, heavy scent of blood.
"There’s someone over there!"
The group followed the scouts to a stream, where injured members of the Fu Clan lay scattered across the ground.
Zerev and Moye recognized a few of them and hurried over to wake them.
"Did you see Tyler? Has he come back?"
An injured Fu Clan male weakly shook his head. "No. The last time I saw him, he was snatched away by a Wandering Beast.
"And Loki was right there beside that Wandering Beast."
