Chapter 112: Chapter 112: Amy’s Offline Countdown...

Outside the Fu Tribe, a young female cub stood at the entrance, swearing under her breath. She carried a small basket filled with green fruits that looked terribly sour.

As Amy cursed, she thought about her mother’s heavily pregnant belly, which only fueled her anger. Her mother actually had a new child with another male. She was no longer her mother’s only child.

Her eyes filled with malice as she spat, "Stupid mother. Bad mother."

She plucked a small red flower from the roadside, crouched on the ground, and whispered a prayer. "Oh, Beast God! Please listen to my wish and don’t let the child in Ophelia’s belly be born."

As she spoke, she plucked the petals off the red flower, completely unaware of a figure slowly approaching her.

"What are you saying?" a chilling voice rang out from behind her.

Startled, Amy snapped the small red flower in half. She hadn’t finished plucking the petals, leaving her prayer incomplete.

Zerev looked at the adorable little female cub before him, finding it hard to believe she could utter such vicious words. Ophelia was her own mother, yet she could make such a malicious wish. He finally understood why Ophelia refused to see this cub. She had brought this all upon herself.

He had originally acted out of the goodness of his heart, fearing Amy might get lost and intending to escort her back to the Snow Wolf Clan. Now, he saw there was absolutely no need for that.

"I—I didn’t say anything," Amy stammered, intimidated by Zerev’s dark expression. "Why are you here? Does Mother want to see me again? I knew she couldn’t bear to let me leave, but her behavior just now made me very angry. Tell her that unless she personally begs me to come back, I won’t return."

Hearing Amy say this with such self-righteous confidence, Zerev gave a laugh of sheer disbelief. He really wanted to crack Amy’s head open just to see what on earth was inside.

"Get lost, and don’t ever come near the Fu Tribe again, or don’t blame me for not being polite."

It seemed that one really couldn’t afford to be too kind-hearted!

Seeing Zerev’s menacing look, Amy didn’t dare stick around. Clutching her basket, she scampered away. She hadn’t run far when a figure suddenly emerged from the shadows and grabbed her arm.

"How did it go, Amy? What did your mother say?"

"What else could she say? She’s absolutely unwilling to forgive me." Amy angrily threw the basket onto the ground.

Seeing that the plan had failed, Loki was furious. "You’re truly useless. You can’t even handle a small matter like this. What use do I have for you?"

Amy looked at her father in disbelief, unable to trust her own ears. "Father, how could you..." It was as if he had become a completely different person.

Loki ignored her, turning on his heel to leave.

Panic set in. Amy hurriedly picked up the fallen fruits and chased after him. "Father, walk a little slower! Wait for me!"

Amy called out continuously from behind, but Loki’s pace didn’t slow in the slightest. If anything, with every cry from Amy, his strides grew even faster.

"Father, what are you doing? Don’t you want me anymore?" Amy was heartbroken, seeing her father’s desperate eagerness to get away. Her mother had already abandoned her. If her father abandoned her too, she would truly have no one left.

No matter how much Amy cried out for him, Loki’s footsteps never faltered. He eventually broke into a run, getting faster and faster. Exhausted from the chase, Amy tripped over a tree vine and fell hard onto the ground.

Tears slipped from her eyes. She couldn’t believe her father had actually abandoned her too. She crouched there for a long time, but Loki never returned to get her.

She decided to head back to the Snow Wolf Clan on her own. However, since Loki had always escorted her whenever they left the tribe, she had no idea which way led home. Relying only on her fuzzy memory, she aimlessly wandered around the area.

After walking for a while, she realized the surroundings were growing increasingly unfamiliar. Fear took hold, and too scared to continue, she crouched down beneath a tree.

By the time the sun reached its midday peak, Loki still hadn’t returned. Her tears spilled over, flowing unstoppably like a burst dam. After crying for a long time, Amy finally accepted the reality that her father really didn’t want her anymore.

"Hmph, if you all don’t want me, then I don’t want you either!" she spat. "I can live perfectly fine on my own. I’ll make you all regret this."

Amy rummaged angrily through the fruits in her basket. She hadn’t eaten fruit in a long time. Today, she had brought the fruits she had been saving to apologize to her mother. She hadn’t expected Ophelia to reject her so heartlessly.

"Ophelia doesn’t deserve to eat such good fruit. Why should I save it for her?" she muttered.

The more Amy thought about it, the angrier she became. She picked up a fruit, wiped it against her animal skin tunic, and took a big bite. One wasn’t enough, so she ate another. After finishing her snack and resting for a bit, she grabbed her basket and stood up.

Her father and mother had both abandoned her. She couldn’t return to the Snow Wolf Clan, and she didn’t know where her dinner would come from tonight; just eating fruit wouldn’t fill her belly.

Then, an idea struck her. She would take these fruits to the trading market and exchange them for some prey. It would be best to trade for cooked food, so she wouldn’t have to prepare it herself.

Her mind made up, Amy carried her fruits and headed north. She remembered Miche saying that the largest trading market nearby was to the north, where many people gathered to barter their goods. Fortunately, she wasn’t too far from the market from where she currently stood.

After walking for about two hours, she arrived at the trading market. But upon entering, she found the place sparsely populated, with hardly anyone around.

Confused, she tugged on a male beastman and asked, "Why are there so few people at the market today?"

"It’s all thanks to that little female from the Fu Tribe," he grumbled. "She lured all the locals who usually trade goods over to the wall shops at the Fu Tribe. Now, fewer and fewer people come here to trade. I haven’t made a single sale in days. Little cub, are you looking to trade for something? I have some fruits here; I can give them to you for a cheaper price."

Seeing that Amy was all alone, a sly glint flashed in the male’s eyes.

Amy was frightened by his smile. She hastily grabbed her basket and ran away.

Unfazed, the male leisurely packed up his goods. Only after stowing everything into his woven backpack did he slowly trail after her. Amy was still small, after all, and her strides were short. Within half an hour, the male caught up to her.

"Where are you trying to go, little cub?"

"Stay away from me! My father is the Clan Leader of the Snow Wolf Clan. If you dare hurt me, he definitely won’t let you get away with it!" Terrified, Amy clutched her basket and backed away.

But she didn’t get far before the male hoisted her up by the collar.

"Oh? The little cub of the Snow Wolf Clan’s Clan Leader? Well then, I should be able to sell you for quite a good price. Tell me, do you think your father would agree to trade a hundred prey animals for you?"
