I Carry a Game World With Me
Chapter 407 - 382: The Counterattack Is Unstoppable
Outside Dalat Town.
Perhaps it was because of Red Lizard's silence and lack of response. The Myanmar soldiers, who had been intentionally causing friction, grew even more brazen.
They swaggered openly toward Dalat Town, and soon they were just a short distance away.
They had, in fact, already seriously violated regulations by trespassing into Xuanfeng Alliance territory.
But the preceding calm had emboldened them beyond measure.
From their current position, they could already fire upon the buildings in Dalat Town.
One of the soldiers raised his rifle without hesitation, aimed at Dalat Town, and opened fire.
BANG!~
Following the gunshot, a small hole was blasted into the wall of a building in Dalat Town, the bullet lodging itself inside.
This provocation was even more severe.
Yet, as Dalat Town seemingly gave no reaction, the other soldiers also grew reckless.
They actually started aiming at the buildings, using the structures of Dalat Town as target practice.
Inside the town, the murderous aura on Red Lizard's face grew thicker.
If not for the plan already in motion, he would have annihilated these men right then and there.
His adjutant, filled with righteous indignation, asked, "Commander Red Lizard, are we still not making a move?"
Suddenly, Red Lizard's phone rang.
Recognizing the number, he answered immediately. "How are things progressing over there?"
A report came instantly from the other end of the line: "Commander Red Lizard, we have the soldier... under control."
Hearing this news, Red Lizard immediately laughed. "Hahahaha, excellent."
After hanging up, he ordered his adjutant, "Tell our men to stop holding back. Go out and take care of these guys. And don't spare any of the others who have gathered around Dalat Town."
The adjutant had been at his breaking point. Upon hearing the command, he didn't hesitate for a second and barked at the special forces soldiers, "All units, move out! Leave no one alive."
Almost simultaneously, the special forces soldiers raised their guns and surged out of Dalat Town like a tidal wave.
Outside Dalat Town.
The Myanmar soldiers had gotten carried away. Their orders were to create friction, and given the current situation, they naturally wanted to escalate it.
The key was that Dalat Town wasn't reacting, which only made them bolder.
So, they began to move closer to Dalat Town again.
Just then, the sound of dense, pounding footsteps echoed out.
They watched in horror as a dense swarm of Xuanfeng Alliance soldiers poured out from within Dalat Town.
The sight terrified the Myanmar soldiers.
They were all dumbfounded.
'Are you kidding me?'
'There were this many people in Dalat Town?'
'If they had this many soldiers, why didn't they react at all?'
'Even a small reaction would have kept us from being so reckless.'
It was as if a bucket of cold water had been instantly dumped on their fiery courage.
Seeing the surging tide of Xuanfeng Alliance special forces, they were scared out of their wits and decisively lowered their weapons, intending to surrender.
However brazen they had been moments ago was how cowardly and terrified they were now.
The next moment, a volley of gunshots rang out, and bullets rained down mercilessly upon them.
"No, we surrender!"
"Why?"
"..."
The men were all in a panic.
They couldn't understand why the enemy was still attacking after they had surrendered.
They had come here to provoke, operating under the assumption that they could always surrender if things went south.
But the situation before them was completely different from what they had imagined.
The enemy was moving to kill them without hesitation.
Furthermore, there was no time for them to ponder why things were different.
Because bullets had already ended their lives.
In the blink of an eye, all the Myanmar soldiers were annihilated.
The adjutant spat fiercely on the ground, his face a mask of satisfaction.
'These bastards actually dared to provoke us like this. They really had a death wish.'
The enemy probably had no idea that even the most elite special forces from the Beautiful Country would be laid low if they came before them.
Red Lizard walked out, glanced coldly at the corpses, and issued another command: "Continue."
The adjutant naturally knew what "continue" meant: eliminate everyone who had entered Xuanfeng Alliance territory and gathered around Dalat Town.
There was no doubt that wiping out all these people would provoke a backlash from Myanmar.
When that time came, a large-scale war would be inevitable.
But they were not afraid. In fact, this was for the best.
They would have the chance to land a single, devastating blow on Myanmar and show them what they were truly made of.
Following Red Lizard's order, all the special forces soldiers moved out, heading for a camp.
This camp had been built by the very Myanmar soldiers who had gathered there.
They were only there to put pressure on the Xuanfeng Alliance, so not everyone was mobilized; they had only sent a small group out.
The person in charge of this camp was named Bruey!
He was once one of Myanmar's rebels but had now been brought under Duodoli's control.
He was the one responsible for this pressure campaign.
He still naively believed that the Xuanfeng Alliance would eventually compromise, just as Duodoli had said. So, he summoned his second-in-command and asked, "What's the status of the men we sent out to provoke them?"
The aide immediately reported, "Mr. Bruey, they haven't reported back yet. They must still be on their mission. We should hear from them in a little while."
Bruey nodded, not in any hurry.
And so, he waited.
But as he waited, he began to feel that something was wrong. The scheduled reporting time had long passed.
Bruey knew his men weren't audacious enough to delay their report for this long.
'Something might have happened.'
Almost as soon as the thought crossed his mind, a dense volley of gunfire erupted outside.
This shocked him instantly.
His aide ran in, panicking, to report, "Mr. Bruey, it's the Xuanfeng Alliance! A large number of them are here, launching a surprise attack on us!"
"Damn it! Follow me, we'll meet them head-on!" Bruey roared. He rushed out and quickly looked toward the sounds of battle.
But he too was immediately dumbfounded. In the thick of the firefight, his men were dropping one after another, while the enemy advanced without a single casualty. 'How is this possible?'
An officer ran over in a panic to report, "Mr. Bruey, these are no ordinary soldiers! Their combat effectiveness is too high! Every one of them is a crack shot, and more importantly, their weapons have longer range and greater power than ours."
Bruey's expression turned extremely ugly upon hearing this report. He didn't need to see the casualty statistics; just looking at the battlefield told him his men were being completely crushed.
'But why is this happening?'
'The men I brought are elites, too!'
'How could the Xuanfeng Alliance have such a powerful force?'
Just as Bruey was wrapped up in his confusion, he suddenly realized that his elite troops had suffered catastrophic losses and were now in a full rout. They had all turned to flee, no longer daring to resist.
Seeing this, Bruey could no longer consider them elites in any sense of the word.
BANG!~
The next moment, a bullet pierced straight through Bruey's head, and he collapsed, stiff as a board.
The aide beside him, terrified, immediately dropped to the ground, covering his head to surrender.
In an instant, the entire camp was brought under the control of Red Lizard's special forces.
Not a single one of the Myanmar soldiers escaped. This time, however, Red Lizard did not order a complete slaughter. The first group had been asking for death, but to do the same again would be a violation of international law.
Meanwhile, in the heart of Myanmar, Duodoli was looking over a file.
The file contained sales data for the Xuanfeng Alliance's various products, which he had spent a great deal of money to acquire.
Every number described within made his heart race with greed.
And so, all he had to do now was wait and see how Bruey's pressure campaign was progressing.
He was sure that once the pressure began, the Xuanfeng Alliance wouldn't be able to hold out for long.
