I Can Level Up Infinitely
Chapter 184: Elena’s Apartment
Theo suddenly snapped his head around. He had sensed that terrifying surge of energy, as though an otherworldly being had just emerged into this world.
Two breathtaking women stood side by side with a shimmering spatial rift slowly closing behind them.
Both could only be described as the very definition of beauty. Especially the woman on the left. Her silky white hair flowed down her back, her emerald-green eyes were as clear as gemstones, and her sharp jawline perfectly complemented the clothes that outlined every graceful curve of her body.
The other woman was equally stunning.
Yet neither of them carried even the slightest warmth. Their eyes were ice-cold. Both pairs of eyes were locked onto Theo.
His face turned deathly pale as his heart pounded violently in his chest. Even though neither of them had made a move...
Theo knew.
If he remained there for even a single second longer, he would die.
The two newcomers were naturally Noira and Lamia.
The three of them had been staying at Leon’s house to protect Jenny when Noira, Fenrir, and Lamia simultaneously sensed an overwhelming danger through their bond with Leon. The danger wasn’t directed at them. It was directed at their master. Without wasting a single moment, Noira tore open a spatial rift, and the two women rushed over at their fastest speed.
Lamia slowly raised her hand. An icy mist gathered before condensing into a razor-sharp blade.
Just as the blade shot toward Theo...
Click.
Theo bit down on something hidden inside his mouth. A thick cloud of smoke instantly erupted and swallowed his body.
Lamia’s ice blade sliced through the smoke.
But...
She was just a little too late. Theo had already disappeared.
Noira immediately rushed over and helped Leon to his feet. "Master, are you alright?"
Leon nodded. "Yeah. But why did you two come here suddenly?"
Lamia walked over and carefully examined Leon’s injuries first before replying. "Why?" she said, her voice filled with worry. "Master, you were on the verge of death. How could we not come? And how could you be so reckless? One of us should always remain by your side from now onwards."
Leon let out a helpless smile. "I know. But I never expected someone this powerful to appear here. I only came to earn some money, yet things turned out like this. Those bastards planned everything from the very beginning."
Lamia’s expression instantly turned colder. "Shall I pursue them and kill every last one of them, Master?" she asked in an emotionless voice.
Leon shook his head. "No. First, we need to ensure that girl’s safety. She possesses something those people desperately want. And I have a feeling that if they get their hands on it... it won’t lead to anything good."
"Which girl?" Noira asked.
Leon looked toward the shattered entrance of Hunter’s Arsenal. "Take me outside," he said.
Although his injuries were already healing at a visible rate, he still couldn’t walk on his own.
Theo’s final blow had been unimaginably brutal.
Noira and Lamia supported Leon as they slowly walked outside. But by the time they reached the entrance, the battle had already ended.
Stanley lay sprawled in one corner, his body covered in injuries. His condition looked extremely serious.
Benjamin wasn’t in much better shape. Although he could still stand, every movement seemed difficult.
Several hunters lay injured across the battlefield.
There were two healers among the spectators, rushing from one wounded person to another as they desperately treated their injuries.
The S-Class hunters from Johana had already disappeared. So had Kyle’s corpse.
And, unfortunately...
Elena was gone as well.
"Damn it..." Leon clenched his fists. "They took her." His brows furrowed as he fell into deep thought.
"What should we do?" Noira asked.
Leon remained silent for a few moments before speaking. "From the way she acted, Elena didn’t seem to know what those people were after. And that Theo guy was determined to make her leave her apartment with nothing but her clothes. Maybe what they’re looking for isn’t with Elena herself but in her house."
"Then let’s go to her house and wait for them," Noira said. "They’ll definitely come."
Leon nodded. "Let’s go."
Before leaving, he glanced at Stanley. One of the healers was already treating his injuries.
’He should be fine,’ Leon thought. ’I’ll just let Jessica know what happened.’
He took out his phone and quickly informed Jessica about the situation. At the same time, he asked for Elena’s home address.
Although Stanley’s condition was severe, it wasn’t life-threatening. Leon decided not to stay. He had no idea when Theo and his men would head to Elena’s apartment, and this was the only lead he had left. If he missed this opportunity, finding Theo again would become extremely difficult. More importantly, Elena’s life could still be in danger.
Without wasting another second, Leon left with Noira and Lamia, following the address Jessica had sent him.
....
About twenty minutes later, they arrived.
It was an apartment on the sixth floor of a ten-story building. Flying through the sky posed no difficulty for Leon. He quietly approached the apartment before slipping inside through an open window.
The room was neat and spotless. Leon swept his gaze across the surroundings.
"Looks like nobody has come yet," he muttered. "Otherwise, the place wouldn’t still be this tidy."
He then turned toward Noira and Lamia. "You two should head back now. Jenny could still be in danger."
"No, Master." Lamia refused without the slightest hesitation. "I’m staying." Her tone was firm and left no room for argument. "They have a Martial Grandmaster with them."
Leon frowned. "A cultivator?"
Lamia nodded. "Yes. That man who nearly killed you is a cultivator at the second level of the Martial Grandmaster Realm. You are only at the Third Level of the Martial Master Realm. The gap between your strengths is as vast as the sky and the earth. You may stand a chance if you use Fusion or Berserk Mode. The Frost Monarch’s Blade could also greatly increase your attack power. But...
Other than Fusion, neither option guarantees victory.
Berserk Mode will make you nearly invincible within the Detached Heaven, but only for one minute.
As for the Frost Monarch’s Blade, it will dramatically increase your offensive power, but it won’t increase your speed.
And in a battle between experts...
Speed often determines who lives and who dies."
Leon remained silent for a moment before sighing. "I understand. But Jenny’s safety is more important than mine. So I need you to go back. We’re not planning to confront them immediately anyway. I want to see what they’re after and where they’re headed.
At least you should go back, Lamia. If anything unexpected happens, Noira can immediately bring you to me.
But until I’m certain Jenny is completely safe, I won’t be able to focus on anything else."
Lamia fell silent. After a long moment, she finally nodded. "Alright. But I am sending Frenrir here. At least you will be able to use Fusion if needed. And don’t worry about Jenny, master. With me beside her, nobody will be able to touch even a single strand of her hair."
Leon nodded.
A spatial rift opened behind Lamia. Before stepping inside, Lamia looked at Leon one last time. The worry in her eyes was impossible to hide. Even so, she reluctantly entered the spatial rift.
Leon slowly walked toward the living room window and looked outside.
"Now... Let’s wait. I’m certain they’ll come."
