I Can Give Talents
Chapter 577 - Magister Family
Chapter 577: Chapter 577 - Magister Family
The elder frowned slightly.
Is there really an influential force from the South Region capable of receiving a golden invitation from the Buchanan Family?
After all, the Central Region was where the true powerhouses gathered. Its higher density of spiritual energy and abundance of cultivation resources made it a far superior place for cultivators.
In the other regions, a family with a single Soul Formation Realm powerhouse was already enough to be considered a top-tier family.
That wasn’t the case in the Central Region.
Here, having three Soul Formation Realm powerhouses was the minimum requirement to be regarded as a top-tier family.
Even then, that status quo would likely change within the next few hundred years.
Several families had already produced powerhouses on the same level as the Cloud Continent Protectors.
Those families were now recognized as the true giant families of the Cloud Continent.
Once more Soul Transformation Realm powerhouses emerged from other families, the title of top-tier family in the Central Region would likely refer only to families that possessed a Soul Transformation Realm expert.
That alone showed just how enormous the gap was between a top-tier family in the Central Region and one from the other regions.
So what exactly is this Leyan Family? How did they receive a golden invitation when even my family didn’t? Have I overlooked some important information?
The elder couldn’t help but wonder.
Silently, he sent a sound transmission to his grandson.
After receiving the message, Roman looked unwilling, but he knew better than to disobey his grandfather.
Meanwhile, another guard hurried over to Leyvi.
"Esteemed guests, please follow me. I will escort you to the Buchanan Family’s finest hotel. I will also inform the family of your arrival."
"Sure. Please lead the way." Leyvi replied with a polite smile.
The guard secretly breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed he wasn’t dealing with difficult guests.
Many influential figures treated low-ranking guards like him as though they didn’t exist, rarely speaking politely and almost never offering something as simple as a smile.
Once the Leyan Family group had properly entered the Buchanan Family town, Roman, the same young man who had tried to provoke them earlier, awkwardly approached Leyvi.
"This esteemed young master, I didn’t know you were a precious guest of the Buchanan Family. Please forgive my rude behavior just now. I, Roman Magister, sincerely apologize," Roman forced out through gritted teeth.
"You’re mistaken, Roman Magister," Leyvi replied calmly.
"Hmm?" Roman looked confused.
"I’m not the young master," Leyvi said, turning slightly and pointing behind him. "My cute son back there is our family’s young master."
Little Leylin, only four months old, was happily babbling and pointing at everything he saw, completely unaware of the tension.
Leyvi then looked Roman straight in the eyes and continued in a steady voice.
"As for me... I am the family head of the Leyan Family, Leyvi Leyan."
The moment the words left his mouth, the atmosphere around Leyvi shifted.
Roman’s eyes widened. Cold sweat broke out across his forehead. An overwhelming presence suddenly pressed down on him, as if he were standing before a towering giant instead of a young man his own age. The casual, harmless-looking person from moments ago had vanished.
In his place stood someone whose mere presence felt heavy and commanding, the kind of aura that only came from years of leading from the front, the kind usually carried by old patriarchs who had seen countless battles and ruled for decades.
Damn it! Who is this guy? How can he exude such a massive presence at such a young age? A family head this young? You must be joking! Is he some kind of harem lord in the South Region or something?
"I... I see," Roman stammered, his voice strained. "Patriarch Leyvi, I apologize once again."
"Sure. Don’t worry about it," Leyvi said lightly, the intense aura fading as quickly as it had appeared. He turned back to the guard with a relaxed smile. "Brother guard, let’s go."
As Leyvi and his group continued walking ahead, Roman stood frozen for a moment. Then he started cursing under his breath, gnashing his teeth in frustration.
He could not believe it. He had just been completely intimidated by someone who looked the same age as him. The humiliation burned deep.
"Hmph. Have you learned your lesson?"
"Yes, Grandfather."
"And what exactly did you learn?"
"Uhh... don’t judge a book by its cover?"
"Wrong." The elder shook his head. "You may judge a book by its cover, as long as you keep that judgment to yourself. But the moment you decide to act, make sure you’ve read the contents first."
Roman paused for a moment before nodding.
"...Yes, Grandfather."
"Rogan."
"Yes, Uncle." A middle-aged man stepped forward.
"Find out everything you can about that family. I want to read their book."
"I’ll get it immediately."
The middle-aged man promptly departed.
Obtaining information on someone wasn’t difficult, provided one was willing to pay.
Within the Cloud Continent existed organizations that specialized in gathering and selling information. They collected publicly available information from various places, organized it into detailed reports, and sold them to interested buyers.
However, these organizations were heavily regulated by the Protectors. They were strictly forbidden from obtaining or selling anything beyond publicly available information, preventing them from becoming intelligence agencies that traded in other people’s secrets.
The Protectors understood all too well what would happen if personal secrets could be bought and sold freely.
It would inevitably descend into chaos.
That said, when properly regulated, information brokers provided an invaluable service.
They allowed families to investigate potential business partners, verify the backgrounds of marriage candidates, understand the political landscape of distant regions, and avoid provoking unknown powers by accident.
Rather than relying on spies or unnecessary conflict, people could make informed decisions through legitimate means.
"Grandfather, do you intend to act against them?" Roman asked.
"Hmph. That depends on what I find after reading their book."
The elder began walking again.
"Let’s go."
The rest of the Magister Family quietly followed behind him.
Soon, Leyvi and the others were brought to the Buchanan Family’s hotel and checked in.
There were still about two hours before the wedding ceremony began. Leyvi decided to stay behind and play with the babies while the others went out to look around the town.
Hana and the other maids had been looking after the babies the entire time, so he told them to go enjoy the pre-wedding festivities as well.
"Do you know that family from earlier, Sister Kajol?" Anda asked. She had chosen to stay behind with Leyvi instead of going out.
Leyvi sat on the floor, surrounded by his three babies.
Leylin lay on his stomach, happily grabbing at his father’s fingers with his tiny hands while babbling excitedly. Nearby, Leyana and Leyina lay on their backs, kicking their little legs in the air as they stared at the ceiling, occasionally letting out soft cooing sounds.
Leyvi gently tickled Leylin’s belly, earning a burst of delighted giggles.
"They’re the Magister Family," Kajol replied. "Like the Buchanan Family, they’re also a scholar family, though they haven’t achieved nearly as much. Recently, I heard they’ve been actively investigating the rise of the Red Eye Craze phenomenon. Their specialty is demonic beast biology, so they’re trying to uncover what caused it."
"It’s a major case after all. If they manage to solve it, they’ll gain tremendous achievements, rewards, and fame. Other than that, I don’t know much about them."
"Are they the only ones investigating the Red Eye Craze phenomenon?" Anda asked curiously.
"Not at all. There are several other groups as well." Kajol shook her head. "Our Protector announced that anyone who solves the mystery, or can prove they made a significant contribution toward solving it, will be rewarded. Everyone knows that a reward personally promised by one of the Protectors is not something to take lightly."
"Eh? Then how come we never heard anything about this reward?" Anda asked in surprise.
Kajol chuckled.
"Because the announcement was only made in this specific region. Most of the researchers and professionals are gathered here anyway. If they announced it to the entire continent, countless people with neither the knowledge nor the ability would rush in thinking they could solve it, only to get themselves killed."
"That makes sense." Anda nodded.
"Anda, bring out the pandas! I want to play with them!" Kajol said, her eyes sparkling the moment she felt Anda had run out of questions.
Leyvi, who was now playing with his children on the bed, was left speechless.
It was obvious that this woman had become obsessed with the pandas again. Every time there was even a small chance, she would come looking to play with them.
...
Two hours later, the wedding was finally about to begin. Leyvi and the others immediately made their way to the wedding avenue.
When Leyvi approached the entrance of the large wedding hall, a familiar voice called out to him from among the crowd.
"Leyvi! You’re here!"
He turned his head and saw Barbara walking toward him happily.
This time, she actually looked like a proper young lady from a prominent family. The beautiful dress she wore was a far cry from her usual scholarly robes.
When there were no more people moving in front of her, Barbara rushed forward and hugged Leyvi tightly.
"I missed you," she said softly.
This action immediately caught the attention of everyone around them.
Leyvi had not expected her to hug him so publicly like this.
